We stayed in a large 4 bedroom villa with a plunge pool in the backyard. This was in July 2005 and there was some construction in the villas next door. Despite the work, we never felt disturbed or woken up too early. The workers at the resort were friendly and helpful. This is a gated resort and the guards were always helpful with directions and/or suggestions on food and activities.

We never found the time to play golf but the villa we stayed in was on the 8th hole and the players seemed to really enjoy it. The course looked well maintained and clean. Our stay was during a full moon phase and we'd often sit out by the pool at night and overlook the course while the sprinklers were on. It just looked surreal.

One thing I would say was there were usually iguanas around while we were lounging however they ran away when they noticed movement. We were never really bothered by them. We are planning to go back in September and are staying at the same villa!!!

I must say, after reading some of the reviews I was hesitant to stay at this resort but I was pleasantly surprised. From start to finish we had a great time. The check-in was very easy. We rented a 2 bedroom villa. It was a great llittle house with a private pool. It was clean, well stocked with dishes, silverware, condiments, pots and pans. We cooked breakfast each morning and ate our other meals out. We played golf three days in a row. it was a beautiful course. One of our friends used the spa and thought it was delightful. It's a bit of a hike in to town, you would definitely need a car rental but the folks at Tierra del Sol are happy to help with that. We were concerned about luggage but they sent a large van to pick up golf clubs and suitcases. There are two restaurants on propery, one is more like a 19th hole lunch and drink place. We enjoyed a few "Aruba Riba's" their tropical drink of the Island. We ate at the main restaurant the final night and the food was fabulous. Great presentation, supberb service, and you can eat inside or out. We loved it and would definitely return! Everyone we met at the resort was very pleasant. The only negative was the distance between the villas and the main hotel. Since we only had one car for four of us it was a bit of an inconvience if anyone wanted to do something different. It is a great place to relax and enjoy a little golf.

This was our first trip to Aruba. We rented a 3 bedroom 2 bath condo which was very spacious for five adults. It was very clean and the maid service was very good. Our condo was a distance from the lobby/restaurant/spa/pool area so we had to use a car to get there from our condo. The pool area is small but nice. The closest beach is about a five minute drive. Check to make sure there are no golf tournaments going on before making reservations as it can get quite crowded. Also keep in mind that this is not a beachfront or even poolfront facility. The restaurant staff are very friendly but the front desk staff act like they're doing you a favor if you need anything. Overall the facility is very good; the service is OK; but the location is very inconvenient.

I was really disappointed when I used the spa facilities because the staff is very unaccomadating and condesending. I would not go back there. Not only is the staff not well-trained - the services themselves are very very medicore. There are many other spas on Aruba that have better attitudes as well as spa services.
