“Nice Suites”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

The suites are quite spacious and nicely kept. Offer a kitchen, living room and dining area. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need in terms of dinner ware and utensils.
The beach are is busy and requires a lengthy process to get beach chairs. Alternatively, you can go down about 6:30-7:00 in the morning to secure beach chairs. The beach is a couple hundred yards from the resort.
Despite what you might read or have heard, Marriott will no allow you to enjoy the amenities at their adjacent properties. that was disappointing.

I stayed at this hotel in November 2012 for 5 days. While this is definitely an older resort, you can tell it is still one of the top money makers for marriott. Beautiful room. Nice bathroom. HUGE gym with many different machines to choose from. Great food. Excellent drinks. Casino is pretty large for a carribean resort and very well maintained. They have their own electrical generator on site, so if the power fails on the island, the hotel can keep going as if nothing happened. Beautiful beach and blue water. Easy access to all the other major hotels by walking across the beach. Be prepared to show ID to security though, as they are strict about letting non-hotel guests into their facilities. Make sure to have dinner in the pier off the ocean. Food is mediocre, but view with full moon and dark ocean at night is just amazing! You have to get up fairly early to catch a good hut on the beach. Alot of people will wake up 4 am/5 am just to get a good spot. Avoid using ATM in hotel. It is overpriced and charges enormous fees (and only dispenses $100 USA Bills, of course). Just bring your own cash from the USA. I was very impressed with this hotel. I will definitely come back here again in the future.

Room Tip: Almost all rooms face the ocean, so don't worry about garden vs. ocean view.

I am a Marriott Rewards member so I know what to expect from a Marriott hotel and this one doesn't disappoint.

Loveley views, nice pools, nice food and the staff are friendly too.

Only downside to my trip was the heat, tropical storm Sandy was just up from Aruba and had sucked all the nice breezes away so was very hot during the day and the sand flies were an issue until a can of "Off" was purchased and if you don't have one whilst dining at "Simply Fish" ask the friendly staff who will be able to lend you one.

Amazing views! Great staff! The casino was great! I was on a 5 day bday trip 4/26-4/30 and my experience at the Marriott was the best ever. I recommend this hotel over any on the island. Quiet, peaceful! Im planning my trip back this year and I will be staying there!!

Stayed here before getting onto a ship for a cruise. Only stayed for a short time but enjoyed every minute. Restaurant inside of the motel was good, casino was fun and had a great salsa band playing in the lobby.

Room Tip: as for the side where you can overlook the ocean or pool area. I had a room that overlooked the cit...

I just got back yesterday from a wonderful week at the Marriott Aruba Resort and Stellaris Casino. The grounds are beautiful, the people are very nice/helpful, and the whole week felt like being at a comfortable home away from home. I'm already planning a second trip to this hotel in the next year.
Here are a couple tips for people on their way to this hotel:
--- If you can...BECOME A MARRIOTT MEMBER...this is great for a couple reasons, but mostly because you get free wifi for 6 devices everywhere! Even by the pools and on the beach. It was great to sit with my feet in the ocean and my iPad in my lap. If you are not a member I think you have to pay or only have wifi in the lobby.
--- Food and drinks at the hotel was actually very good for American style food and reasonably priced. It also helped that they serve you around the pools and even on the beach. Also it was nice to just charge it to the room. This way we didn't have to worry about bringing money and valuables out of our room.
--- Make sure to go down early for a hut on the beach in the mornings. They start giving them out at 7am and at 630am I was already 7 or 8th in line. It was totally worth getting up early though, the huts are a necessity on the beach. You can also rent a cabana around the adult pool which was nice too. It made us feel like royalty. There are 4 pools you can access at the Marriott hotels and the two closest to the Resort were my favorite. The others were still pretty, but more family oriented though.
--- I was told by the cab driver not to drink the faucet water at the hotel because they add chlorine, but I did find that there were cold water stations all around the hotel. I just bought a water bottle on the first day and filled it up 20 times during the week. There are even a couple water stations right on the beach which were VERY helpful on the hot days.
--- Our room didn't have the best view possible, but there were no more ocean or pool view rooms even left when we booked this trip. It would have been nice to have a view, but this didn't bother us overall. It's just something to think about when you are about to spend the extra money on the premium ocean view...though I'm sure it's amazing. :)
--- The hotel is perfectly placed towards the end of the highrise hotel strip. So it's not too busy on the beach and still within walking distance to everything. It wasn't until the end of our trip that we walked down on the 'street side' of the hotels and found a large number of stores and restaurants. It would have been nice to spend more time there, but we would walk on the beautiful beach and didn't even know there was bowling, rock climbing walls, and a movie theater just on the other side of the hotels. We did take a cab downtown one day, but it was nothing special.
--- Also if you like the ocean, there was a great snorkeling place right in front of this hotel on the beach I would recommend. We did a three hour boat ride which takes you to three locations and served lunch and all the drinks you can down. Great experience.

Stayed last week of April.
Can get groceries/alcohol 15 minute walk down the road.
Lots of restaurants that are within walking distance that are much better than the resort restaurants...Much better prices off the resort too. (Down in front of the holiday inn)
Taste of Belgium was our favourite restaurant. Located in Palm Beach Plaza.
People are extremely Friendly in Aruba!
