“Just Keeps Getting Better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

This was our second time at the Stellaris; went in 2009 and again this past April 3rd. I was a little hesitant because our first Aruban experience was so wonderful I couldn't imagine it could be matched - but it was and then some! We stayed on the Tradewinds floor which offers too many amenities to list (check out their website) and it far exceeded everything it promised. The service was "stellar", the rooms are beautiful, spacious and very well kept. Beach is great, new adult pool is a perfect retreat. The Marriott boasts excellent restaurants within however are happy to direct you to others on the island if your looking for something different. Each and every member of the staff makes you feel as if you are the only patron. You cannot pass someone in the hallway without a cheery "hello" and a beautiful smile. The diamond of this hotel however is Hermina Whyte who runs the Tradewinds Beach! She is one of the most wonderful, genuine people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She wrote the book on customer service and works to make your stay perfect from the moment the sun rises to the last dying ray. The small luxuries such as her famous "ice cold" essential oil scented towels, knowing just when you need a bottle of cold water or beachside waiter for a cold drink are second only to her dazzling smile. We will never consider staying anywhere else but here and plan to return next year! Worth every penny! Sue & Steve Lawrence West Warwick, RI

Room Tip: I have only stayed on the Tradewinds 8th floor however spoke to many people frmo different floors wh...

As always Marriott meeting your expectations. Super nice rooms, the best breakfast buffet in the Caribbean, friendly staff, decent sushi bar, the staff in the beach super nice and friendly. I recommend this hotel for holidays, for bussines is not the best choice as they dont have wifi in the rooms. Manicure in the Spa also super good ( the lady from Jamaica) . Excellent! I will for sure stay in this hotel in my next holidays in Aruba!

This was a ladies trip with five women and also our second time within two years traveling to this hotel.
BEACH-Amazing, soft sand, crystal clear and calm water, and nice breeze. You should rent a palapa if you need shade because the sun is very strong. Hermina from Tradewinds club on the beach is awesome! She will give you cold towels if you belong to the Tradewinds club, check on you often to see if you need anything, and much more. Her friendly and funny personality will enhance your stay. She even brought me aloe when I got heat rash one day. She is very accomodating and fun to interact with.Happy hour 12-1 and 3-5. Waiters will come around asking you if you want to order food or drinks throughout the day.
POOL- There is a swimup bar which comes in handy :) 2 for 1 specials are from 12-1 and 3-5. We did aqua zumba one day and aqua aerobics in the pool. We mostly stayed on the beach but if you want to catch happy hour in the pool 3-5 is a great time to take a dip.
Rooms-spacious, beds are not the most comfortable but who cares! Bathrooms are big and very clean
Restaurants in town-FANTASTIC- Some of our favorites are Flying Fishbone, The Trattoria Lighthouse, Barefoot, Smokey Joes, and Madaam Janettes. There are so many more though.

Enjoy!

went here for a week, family with two young kids 4 and 1 of age. everything is very nice, rooms are reasonably new, balcony has view and space for all of us, service always escellent. the only thing you have to be mindful of is the tricky system of assigning the beach huts. basically you either get them for free by queuing at 7am or 4pm, or you decide to pay $25 each day for a max of three days at get in line at 10am. the tricky part, as you may imagine for a big hotel, is that space is limited and in order to get a hut you have to be in line AT VERY MINIMUM 30 min before they open the office, i.e. 6.30am for the morning slot!
i have heard stories of people that in busy time of the year like school holidays have been in line since 6am if not earlier, but in our case 6.30am works just fine and we had the hut every day for free.
other than this, be mindful this is aruba and therefore always windy on the beach, sometimes with gusts that blow sand all over the place.

Room Tip: rooms facing the new hilton under construction are sold at discount as they say they have 2limited v...

We stayed at the Marriott the night before we checked in to the Marriott Ocean Club for a week. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very accomodating. The adult pool was beautiful and so relaxing! If you end up staying here and don't want to be around kids, this is the place to go every day. The food at the Wave Bar and Restaurant was very good. Of course it's not cheap, but you are on vacation in Aruba, so we new what to expect. They do a great job at Happy Hour (which is more than just 1 hour). The gym is really nice and very big! No trouble getting on a treadmill. The rooms are very loud. If you like to sleep in I would suggest asking for a room at the end of the hall so people aren't running by your room. Seems like parents just let their kids run up and down the hallway all morning. I'm on vacation, I like to sleep in at least until 8am. Last time we visited Aruba we stayed in the Low Rise section. There was definitley a lot more to do near the Marriott, but the low rise section is so much more relaxing and quiet. THe beach is much bigger and less cluttered with boats, floats, etc.. We were able to walk down the beach to take the sunset cruise (left from the Pelican's Nest). This was very convenient and a fun place to have a drink! Ate at Simple Fish on Saturday night. It was so so, wouldn't give it the rave reviews that a lot of other people did.

The Marriott Stellaris Resort & Casino on Palm Beach in Aruba is our favorite hotel to stay at while on this small caribbean island. Located on the north end of the Palm Beach hotel zone (referred to by locals as the 'high rise hotel district') this moderately-sized Marriott property is good for both couples and families and has gone through a substantial upgrade within the past several years which. These improvements have made a very nice hotel into one that has a little of something for everyone.

You begin your visit with a giant 'bon bini' from the bell staff waiting to take your bags. From there, you are welcomed with the Aruba Ariba, a local cocktail favorite, while waiting to check in to the hotel. As usual, the check in process was quick and efficient, and the front desk staff was very friendly, outgoing, and thankful that you are spending time there. This continued throughout the week as we visited the front desk quite often for various 'issues' that surrounded our vacation, the most notable of which was the loss of my wife's passport right from the outset of our visit. The front desk and security staffs went out of their way to help us through this situation and were constantly asking us during the week how everything was going. A special mention should be made to Marielle, the front desk manager, who repeatedly inquired on the status of the passport as well as to offer their assistance in any way we could. Luckily, the passport was returned to Arubian customs personnel who contacted us at the hotel and arranged for its retrieval prior to leaving the island.

Beyond the front desk you will find rooms that are moderately appointed. While not plush and extravagant, they were comfortable and more than adequate to suite our needs. Each room has a large bathroom, walk-in closet and personal safe to store valuables, and most have a mini fridge, which was a nice touch for those who prefer to bring snacks into the hotel rather than purchase them on site. And the views are stellar! Not many rooms in this hotel have poor views so you really can't go wrong when making a reservation. If there were any negatives to the rooms I would say that they were more service related than anything else. The housekeeping staff was rather unpredictable as to how and when they would clean rooms and do turn down service for their Elite members, but even when they were in the rooms at inopportune times they were always polite and willing to wait or come back if we needed to get into our room.

The hotel amenities were also above par for the average Marriott hotel property. Along with the usually lobby bar and restaurant, they also had several shops, boutiques and on-site restaurants to choose from and provided ample options to shop or eat if we chose not to leave the property. There is also easy access to the Stellaris Casino straight from the lobby for those who enjoy a quick (or not so quick) visit to the slots and poker tables, although the smoke from the Casino would sometimes fill the hallway immediately outside the entrance, quickly offending the non-smoking visitors that passed through. One really nice part of the lobby was the cafe that was installed three years ago. They offer an assortment of pastries, sandwiches, salads and sushi during the daytime hours and make a moderately tasty cup of coffee in the morning. And don't forget to treat yourself to Gelato prior to heading off to bed, as we did several times during our visit.

Finally, the grounds of the hotel are fantastic. With two pools (one family, one adult-only), a hot tub, a workout facility, sand volleyball courts, and numerous beach chairs and small palapas, there are many ways to enjoy the caribbean sunshine for both families and couple alike. This trip we spent most of our time at the adult pool to stay away from the noise levels at the main pool. This was added to the hotel a couple of years ago and is a greatly welcomed addition to the grounds. Please note that the adult pool is not well attended by the wait staff and that service is sometimes slow as a result, but the bar is well stocked and the bartenders can make pretty much any concoction you want.

Overall, the only issue we had with this hotel was the smell. During most of our visit the air was ripe with the aroma of human waste, which was due to a sewage backup down the road from the hotel. While this was not evident outside, it was very evident within the lobby and the rooms where the air conditioning was running. We informed the hotel staff of this and they did their best to deal with the situation, although there was little they could do to help short of shutting off the A/C, which wasn't an option when its 90 degrees outside. Regardless, the shortcomings of our visit were far exceeded the care attention we were given by the staff and I have no hesitation about going back. The staff treat you like family and do everything they can to make your stay an enjoyable one!

Room Tip: Request a high floor room for the best view and to avoid late night pool deck noise. This hotel is...

Located at the end of palm beach, a new hotel is going up beside this. Fortunately it was not too crowded during our stay, because there are limited huts to sit under. But this hotel is located away from the crowds of all the other hotels, which i enjoyed. It was fun walking up the beach to all other hotels. Never walked the other way to see the one hotel being built. The room was large with a garden view, we were able to see the ocean which was a pleasant surprise. What I like most about Aruba is the weather, very warm, sunny, and a breeze. The people of the island are very friendly.
My family really enjoyed are stay with every hotel you will never find perfection, but it was close!

Room Tip: We chose garden view and were very happy!
