“Birthday Get away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

We were told about this hotel by our friends that have a time share. It was our first time and we would come back again in a heartbeat. We have a great time and the weather was perfect !

Great service at Ruth Chris steakhouse for my birthday. We enjoyed the casino as well. The only thing that was a downer was the smoking allowed.

The water was amazingly clear and we enjoyed the sun beating down on us !!

I really liked this hotel Even with the crowds and the issue with the huts on the beach, and the lack of chairs around the pool. It was expensive-everything was, but I think it was worth it. My only advice is to rent a car. We did for one day and it was worth it. Went to the store (Ling and Sons) and brought snacks and juices for the kids, and beer, etc. for hubby and me. Did not drink a lot at the resort, only at happy hour and only ate once or twice at the hotel. We walked down to the Holiday Inn area and found places. But Aruba is expensive, no doubt about it, but it was safe and friendly. The one thing I missed at the hotel was some night life or excitement around the pool. (We do not gamble) During our five day stay, there was only one night of music in the lobby and one day around the pool. I just think that with the money we spend the hotel could provide some type of entertainment each night. We had a pool view room and loved it-it had the ocean in the back ground-it was never too loud, but we were traveling with kids. One last thing- as soon as you get there (if you are planning to go to the beach) go to the towel hut and see if you can rent a beach hut for $20 a day. You can do it in three day increments. Because the hotel was so crowded, we could only get one day of rental but it was worth it. The other days we did without or my husband got up at 6 a.m (!) to stand in line for free hut.

Room Tip: We had a room on the fourth floor-garden view and loved it. We could see the ocean in the backgroun...

I just came back from Marriot Resort with my 2 kids and we've spent 5 incredible days there during Easter.

THE GOOD:
1 - Room was great, new, clean and spacious.
2 - Infrastructure (pools, common areas) is new and very well designed.
3 - Beachfront is awesome! The best beach ever with the most beautiful sea color. The hotel is inside the beach.
4 - Restaurants and food are delicious and staff is quite attentive.
5 - Perfect for kids. Beach has no waves, pool is fun.
6 - Adult pool is a paradise. So peaceful.
7 - Gym is very well equipped

NOT SO GOOD:
1 - Prepare your wallet. Plan to spend extra 50-75% of the room rate in taxes, services (food, drinks, etc) and tips.
2 - Everything is paid and not cheap. Food (dinner buffet for US$40), drinks (beer for US$8), room internet, lobby internet, beach huts.
3 - Family pool is not big and gets full all time.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less pool noise.

The Marriott Resort is a great place to stay and the room service is amazing. We have been coming to Aruba since about 2006 and have almost always stayed at the Marriott. The adult pool is quiet and beautiful. We have been served the last two years by Max who is fantastic.
Jon

Room Tip: North Wing - close to the beach facing south for a view of lights at night.

We first had booked 10 days in May 2012 at the Ocean Club next door for our 30th wedding anniversay. Had a horrible view from our room. Went to the front desk of the Marriott Resort and explained our situtation and they flew into action. We got a corner suite on the 4th floor away from the construction on the north side of the resort. The two young ladies at the front desk quizzed me as to what plans we had for our anniversay night. I said we would probably have dinner on our balcony. They insisted that they wanted to decorate our room. We also wanted steak but the menu did not have a filet on it. The girls from the front desk contacted the chef and he said he could make it happen. One of the girls even came in on her day off to decorate our room. They were so helpful. A shout out to Jihye and Susana. All the employees were so friendly and helpful from the adult pool to the towels on the beach to the room maids. I can not say enought of the positive attitude everyone of them had. The lobby deli had great sandwiches for lunch. We had dinner on the beach several night and it was very good. I would highly recommend the Marriott Resort to anyone wanting a fantastic time.

We own a 1 week stay at the Marriott Aruba Ocean Club, but 1 week is never enough, so we extend our vacation and stay at the Marriott Aruba Resort and Stellaris Casino which is located next door. The hotel is beautiful and everything has been updated. They also have a quiet serenity pool if you are traveling without children, we used it this past vacation and it was great.

Room Tip: Choose rooms on 5th floor or higher overlooking serenity pool , great sunsets!

The Marriott Stellaris has an excellent beachfront location and is done in typical Marriott fashion. Suitable for conferences and business meetings, it has a wonderful beach dotted with casitas which can be reserved once you are on property (they sell out quickly, so find out when you can sign up for one). The hotel has a Ruth's Chris on site as well as a terrific on-the-beach seafood restaurant. There's also a Champions Sports Bar in the Marriott timeshare next door. You can't go wrong here.

Room Tip: Beachfront is obviously great.
