“Radisson Rules”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

We left the freezing Iowa temps behind and our trip was Awesome. The staff at the Radission are top notch, friendly and at all times helpful. The grounds and the beach at the Radission are the nicest hands down. We walked thru most of the other beaches and grounds and alot of them had less room, were dirtier, and looked not half as classy and nice as the Radissions. The rooms have awesome beds and are great.. Thats all I can tell you about them as other than sleeping there, we never used them cause we saw no reason to be in our room. For those people on here complaining about the room view of other little picky room details, they are low life losers. There's simply no reason to be in your room when its just a few steps to paradise. Hope to be back sometime, and definatly will pick the Radission again.

Room Tip: Drinks are expensive so we took and soft cooler and bought alcohol at the grocery store down the str...

My husband and I just spent 4 nights at the Radisson and were very pleased. When we checked in, we decided to do a little "room shopping" and looked at 4 different rooms. The staff was very patient and accommodating. We ended up in Room 1608 in the Aruba Tower. As with most hotels in Aruba, very few rooms actually face the ocean directly. Most of them are on the side of the building and, consequently, overlook other things like roofs and parking lots in addition to the ocean. Ours had a pretty good view of the lush gardens and the ocean without other ugly stuff. The rooms were all similarly appointed -- similar furnishings, though some were slightly larger than others. The plaza rooms were the same as other rooms, but had a butler, breakfast, and afternoon drinks included. Not worth the price in our opinion. All the rooms were very clean and in good condition.
The beach was definitely one of the nicer ones in the high-rise area. We stopped in at the Marriott and their beach had lots of shells and seaweed. Their pool area also appeared to be more extensive, but definitely more crowded than the Radisson.
Some nice amenities: On Tuesday evening, there is a manager's cocktail hour with free drinks and giveaways. Also some drinks are BOGO in the afternoon at Gilligan's.
2 minor quibbles: The shower in the Aruba Tower could not maintain a consistent temperature. It swung from being very cold to very hot every few seconds. It made showering pretty unpleasant. Also, the bathroom door was basically a pair of shutters. It gives a bit of visual privacy, but no other privacy.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Our daughter got married at Pure Beach restaurant and almost all guests (30) stayed at the Radisson. Lisa Dammerman was awesome to work with as was Nelson! We were able to secure a great nightly rate by guaranteeing 10 rooms for a given number of nights. We were treated exceptionally well from the moment we entered the hotel! The room for the bride and groom was a once in a lifetime accomodation!!! There were always plenty of chairs for lounging by the pool and the cabanas ($25/day, I believe) were a great place to gather. They even supplied a cooler with the cabana. Our rooms were well kept and cleaned on a timely basis. Partial ocean view overlooked the parking lot as well and the balcony was quite small but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. The room itself was spacious and lovely. Though small, it was nice to have a casino right off the lobby. It turned out to be a fun place for all (adult) ages to hang out and play into the wee hours of the morning.
This is our 4th time in Aruba and Palm Beach is our favorite. The Radisson is located in a perfect spot! Lots of beach front and most anything in walking distance. The "find" this time was dining at Daniel's across the street. Food, drink, service was awesome and reasonable! It was so good we returned a second night. Also dined at Barefoot (~$17 cab ride) on the beach. Hearing we had newlyweds in the party, they immediately came to the table with 10 glasses of champagne!! Great food, ambiance.
Casual dinner/drinks at Gilligans at the Radisson. Average food; good service.
Since there is no where on Trip Advisor to review a wedding planner I am going to do so here. Bonny Stanley (Aruba Weddings by Bonny) was absolutely amazing!! Her flexibility, attention to detail, reassuring demeanor, relationships with vendors, "can do" attitude made the planning and the entire wedding flawless and AMAZING!!! Though rare, we were met with some rain the evening of the wedding. No worries, Bonnie had everything covered! If we had the reception at the Radisson, Lisa Dammerman would have been equally awesome!
Because of some changes at Pure Beach (at the Divi Phoenix) and some recent reviews, I had some concerns that the Pure Beach we knew and loved had changed. All I can say is it was PERFECT from start to finish. No better ambiance and the food and service was absolutely impeccable. Further reviews in the restaurant section of tripadvisor but I would choose Pure Beach without any hesitancy!!
We couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience.

My family stayed at the Radisson Aruba Resort over the Christmas Holidays and we had fantastic time. All of the people who worked there were very nice and accommodating. The location is great with most major restaurants within walking distance and a taxi ride to downtown only about 10 to 15 minutes. The airport is about 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. The beach here is gorgeous! White powdery sand and clear water. The sand is so fine that it mixes with the water as you get close to shore, so it is not as clear as some of the other islands I have been to. The temperature in the daytime was around 88 (31) and at night was around 80 (27). It was humid, but there is a constant trade wind and I never broke a sweat. The water temperature was in the low 80s and after 15 seconds in the water it was not cold at all. It rained only one night in the middle of the night and was sunny all six days we were there. The layout of the hotel is very good. It was not far from the room to the beach. The breakfast at the hotel is very, very good, although expensive. The mixed drinks were not as consistent in taste as you would expect, sometimes very good and sometimes just so, so. Service was very good everywhere but on the beach. There did not seem to be enough servers walking around and taking drink and/or food orders and so we started going up to the bar to order for ourselves. The layout of the place is great, but everything associated with the hotel was very expensive, but it was the busiest time of the year for tourism in Aruba. I would definitely stay here again and we are considering going back in the middle of January 2014 instead of over the holidays to avoid the very crowded conditions and I assume additional expense because of the timing. I found that the taxi service and restaurants outside of the hotel were not expensive, but rather reasonable. Be careful of the beach towel policy. You must make sure you talk to someone at the towel hut and have them check mark their paperwork to show you brought the towels back or they will charge you. On the second day there when I went to drop the towels off, there was no attendant, and instead a security guard was standing there. I asked him if I needed to wait and he said no, just drop the towels off and it was no problem. The next day I decided to ask the attendant and she showed we did not drop our towels off and proceeded to tell me that she was there during the time I dropped off the towels. She obviously had to leave the area for some reason and called security to have them posted there while she was away. She eventually took care of it so I did not have to pay. The hotel was very clean and the fireworks at midnight on New Years Eve over the island is unlike any you probably have ever seen. It was an amazing display.
Overall, I was very happy with our stay and we plan to stay here the next time we go.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room with clear view of the beach and sunset.

The service is great, the staff is warm, welcoming and helpful, rooms are cleaned in a timely manner. Although the beach is lovely, there is an umbrella rental stand for cruise ship passengers and it can get very crowded and although you may have reserved a hut close to the water, someone with a family of 20 can sit right in front of you.

My wife and I recently spent 6 nights in Aruba at the Radisson Resort. We left freezing weather in Pittsburgh and arrived to sunshine and an exceptional warm and curteous staff at this beautiful resort. The grounds were immaculate and the rooms very comfortable. The beach was spacious and we were able to get a Palapa everyday with no problem. The staff was very accommodating from Nelson the front desk manager and his staff, Arianne sales and marketing director, and the daily maid service. We vacation every year to various Islands and this was by far our most enjoyable trip. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: If possible see if they will upgrade to an ocean view.

We have been to this hotel 4 times prior and never had as many problems as this time. First our partial ocean view room was overlooking the parking deck of the next door hotel. We asked to move and it took them over an hour and a half to do it for us. Then we only had a garden view but they told us it was an upgrade. When I got home I checked and there isn't a category for garden/partial ocean view. One day our room never was cleaned and we had to wait over an hour for them to come at 6:00 pm. Another night we heard a toilet running on and off every 20 seconds all night. I reported it first thing in the morning and they didn't come all day. Finally got someone up at 6:30 pm and they said it was the adjoining room and needed to wait until the guests left to fix it. Also, we waited every day at 4:00 pm for our beach hut but one day a cruise ship docked and all the passengers came to the Radisson beach. The local guy put an umbrella basically over my head for paying customers and the Radisson said there was basically nothing they could do because the beach is public. No one could correctly explain the breakfast/lunch meal plan we took to us until on the second day I went to an assistant manager and she did. The positives of the hotel are that it is centrally located and the grounds are pretty and clean. The food plan turned out to be very generous. The renovated rooms were clean but basically minor changes since we had been there last.
