We picked the Radisson Aruba because of it's excellent reviews. When we got to the hotel, check-in was quick & easy. Finding our room was another story. They never told us that there were 3 buildings and the 1st digit of the room number tell you what building your room is in. When we finally found our room, bed was made; towels were in the bathroom. However, there was garbage, used soap, upon inspection there was hair in the "clean" sheets and we were skeptical if the towels were actually clean. I called the front desk and they immediately upgraded us and gave us another room. However, while we were waiting in the dirty room for the key another guest opened the door. They were given that same dirty room, before it was even cleaned! Not sure what ever happened with them. But our new room was great and better yet, clean!

The hotel has a great pool and beach with lounge chairs. You can reserve the beach lounge chairs the day before by the towel hut. The bar offers great snacks and light meals. The landscaping is well maintained and hotel is clean.

Beware of the in room refrigerator and snacks. There are sensors, if you move anything - even to put your own stuff, you will get charged.

There are a lot of shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance. The best breakfast we found was at Amici's Cafe located opposite the Playa Linda. The staff was always friendly and food was awesome. Reasonably priced too!
They are opened all day long and some night have a singer. You will have to wait for a table, but it's worth it. Great place for breakfast, lunch, desert, coffee, ice cream and snacks.

Another great restaurant is Aqua Grill, just down the block from Sopranos Bar. The staff were friendly and attentive. The seafood was fresh and delicious. We will definitely go back to Aqua Grill.

On the plane ride I read an article to beware of service charges. Many restaurants automatically charge 15% service charge and then ask for additional tip. Review your bill and menu carefully.

I loved the Radissson Hotel. I am a travel agent and have stayed at many beutiful hotels. The Radisson had everything you could poosibly need while staying at an island resort. The beach was the BEST on the strip, the pool was amazing and the hotel rooms were clean and bright. The service was excellent and the people were very friendly. If you are looking for a LUXURY RESORT then maybe the Radisson is not up to your standards but it more then met my expectations. One word of advise, when you check in if you are not happy with your room talk to someone and have them show you another. Our first room faced the Rui and rooftops......NOT FOR ME. I spoke with someone and before you knew it they showed me a room on the firth floor and it faced the garden and even had a partial view of the sea. I woke every morning to see a tall palm tree with a glimse of blue water behind it.,What could be better. Also, forget those all-inclusive hotels.....the restaurants in Aruba are the best. Every night we tried a different one with a differnt cuisine and we were thrilled that they were all great. The SCREAMING EAGLE was my favorite they had a Carpaccio of Artichoke salad that was to die for. We also ate at El Gaucho ( alittle too touristy for me but food was good), Madame Jeanette's (good meal ,great atmoshere w/ romantic music), La Trattoria El Faro Bianco up by the lighthouse. It had the best views and most beautiful sunset and the food was very good.All in all it was our first time to Aruba and we loved it. The weather was terrific, got a great tan, relaxed and read several books and loved the vacation. I looked at all the hotels on eagle Beach and the Radisson won hands down.

We ended up at the Radisson after we were "bumped" from the Westin, which was overbooked. (For more on that see my review on the Westin) We were two women in our thirties, taking a quick girls weekend away.

The Radisson was nicer than I expected. We had a room facing the interior on the fourth floor. Our view was of lush palms which was quite a bit nicer than the exterior rooms which look out on to other hotels. Sure, the room had somewhat of a moldy smell, but this seems to be unavoidable given the location is so close to the ocean and the humidity is so high.

Pros: The landscaping is quite lovely and the hotel was quiet. The room was a bit on the small side (Westin rooms much larger) but the furnishings were tasteful. You can reserve palapas the afternoon before so there is no getting up at an un-godly hour to rush the beach (this was a real bonus). They have fresh fruit punch in the lobby all day. Bring your own flask of rum and you be be in fruity drink hog heaven for free :) Also, the gym is very nice - view of the ocean, lots of equipment, etc. Didn't try the spa but it appeared to be spacious. I'm not one for sitting by the pool when the ocean is so close, but this was definitely the nicest pool in the area, and would be great if you were traveling with small children.

Cons: The restaurants aren't all that great (although we never tried the Sunset Grill) In general, better food is found outside of the hotels anyways.

Overall, Aruba was not quite what I expected. It seems the kind of place to go if you want a really easy vacation where you will always speak English, use American dollars, and want to be surrounded by northeasterners fleeing the winter weather. This is not the place to go if you are looking for adventure. (I have been to both Vieques and Guadeloupe, and found those islands to be more diverse and interesting) Palm Beach is nice if you don't mind being on a crowded beach. I was able to finish 3 books and a lot of fruity drinks. Not a bad place for a little R and R.

If you are looking for something nicer than most, the Radisson is just fine. If you want something a bit fancier, you might also want to take a look at the Hyatt. I only saw the lobby, but it seemed a bit more upscale.

I stayed at the Radisson Aruba on my honeymoon September of 2007. When my husband and I checked in, they inquired as to whether or not we were in fact honeymooners. We stated we were, and they said well in that case we will send up a bottle of champagne to the room. Needless to say I have yet to get that bottle. Then we get to my ocean view room, which had a great ocean view if I only remembered to bring my pair of stilts on the balcony. But despite that, great view of the grounds and pool, and the gardeners.
The room was nice, nothing I would write home about.
It had a small condensation problem. However, it was very humid that week. The cleaning crew was very efficient and left plenty of towels, and the mini bar was stocked with plenty of overpriced goodies.
The beach and grounds of this hotel, I would so boldly say are the best on this stretch of hotels. The drink service was great, Gilligan’s is a nice place for lunch( I would recommend the quesadillas) and the sunset grill is a nice but pricey place for dinner.
Do not get the breakfast plan; I think it is a waste. The food at breakfast is mediocre at best. But if you like bad coffee and rubber pancakes, maybe you would dig this place. But I preferred the Dunkin Donuts a few steps away.
Needless to say, I had an amazing time in Aruba. Go to the Flying Fishbone at sunset(worth the $35 cab ride), El Gaucho's and Amazonian. All great! Radisson was a nice place, but next time I would try the RUI.
