Went to Passions based on all the high marks on TripAdvisor. For the most part they are all accurate. The food is overpriced for the quality but still good. What you pay for is the atmosphere of kicking off your sandals, putting your toes in the sand, and enjoying the views - pray for a good sunset (too bad it had just showered so they were frantically trying to dry off tables and we were seated on towels to start the evening). At night they light the tiki torches which really adds to the experience. They do not rush you - our reservations were at 7pm and we left at 9:30pm. It's kid friendly - our daughter loved it. Some pointers to the restaurant - yes, we all know it's windy but there are ways to secure the linens to avoid them blowing up and almost knocking over our wine and getting into our food (other tables seemed to be taken care of in this aspect - ours, not so much and when we asked it seemed like we had to deal with it). Also, service for us was not on par with what we had read in other reviews. Perhaps they were shorthanded but she was not very attentive; we waited on several occasions yet saw others getting more frequent visits.
Food notes: My wife got the watermelon salad with goat cheese - seems to be the top choice and is definitely a good one. My veggie spring rolls were ok, a bit too much cabbage. The Seven Seas Parade my wife ordered was simply too much food; her lobster had a piece that seemed to be undercooked. My Mahi was definitely overcooked but edible enough not to send back. Just need to pop it off the grill a couple minutes earlier to be just right.
Overall probably the best experience you will find for on-the-beach dining.
