“Forgot it's roots”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Had a bad experience. It came highly recommended. A slight problem with an appetizer and they did nothing to right the wrong. Things happen, which we understood. Not even an apology or a glass of wine, they just took that app off the bill. Food was ehhh. Waiters were very polite and helpful, but felt the place lost it's personal touch with the customer.

“Good and bad”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We were in aruba last week and someone suggested this restaurant. It turned out to be sort of bad experience. My wife ordered the shrimp dish with pasta, which turned out to be good. On the other hand I ordered the chicken Parmesan which turned into a nightmare. First the dish was a small portion with no taste and with skimpy vegetables as well being paper thin . When I mentioned it to the waiter he tried to be polite, finally I asked for the manager who to be quite frank was very rude and never gave us an explanation after talking to the chef. Finally when I asked him what the chef had said his only comment was "find another restaurant". I go to aruba quite a bit and will never step into that restaurant again as there are many better quality ones plus the staffs are very cordial as they respect their customers

“Wonderful as usual”

This small italian restaurant has wonderful food!!! And a wood grilled oven for wonderful pizzas.....especially good if you are bringing children. They have a wonderful patio area to also eat on. The grouper pizzaioli is fabulous.

“Good food, Good Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Returned for a second time - The food and the service were both very good. Everything was fresh - from the octopus salad, bruschetta and mozzarella caprese to the veal and pasta dishes we ordered. This will stay on our list of favorite places.

“Real Class and Style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

Nick, a great, friendly server at Salt and Pepper, recommended Hostaria da' Vittorio. We walked over and met Alma (I hope I have her name right). Her professional demeanor and confident responses to our questions encouraged us to make a dinner reservation. Luckily, she was our primary table attendant. The service is conscious, friendly without going Aruba overboard, and unobtrusive. Alma took charge of our needs. We had arugula salad with balsamic (dribbled at the table. We had two orders of penne primavera and one of penne puttanesca (without anchovies). Perfect! Berries and decaf espresso for dessert. The chianti with dinner was lovely. Decor is not imported dark wood and billowy white curtains like other Aruba restaurants of comparable expense. Rather, the cost of the meal goes into the food and the quality service. This was a real treat without the fire show, amplified violinist, and countless tables of you know where. It is not possible to understand the negative reviews, which, if you read them, tend toward the juvenile. This is a winner.
