“Good steak in a nice setting.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

We had a great meal at LG's. It was a little more upscale than most of the island, casual places. We ate so much fish, it was nice to have a steak. We all had filet mignon, my husband was trying to be creative and had a different cut and he was disappointed. The staff was very attentive and fixed the problem immediately!I think if you stick to the basics here, you will not be happy. I was impressed that unlike most traditional steak houses, they didn't expect you to pay for extra sides, each steak came with 2 sides. Skip dessert, the chocolate cake was dry, walk across the street & have a gelato.

“Big disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

L.G. Smith's was a huge disappointment. We were looking forward to having really great steaks, and they were average at best. The spinach salad was on the small side and nothing special. It does have an upscale atmosphere and the jazz combo was excellent. The service was average. The restaurant serves chocolate sauce, not hot fudge sauce, on its Dame Blanche. Overpriced for the quality of the food.

“I eat there because it's FREE”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

I like to play at the casino there and after an evening at the BJ table or VP machine I have enough points for a free meal, for two.

To be honest the staff is nice but it's not like being in Aruba... It's like being in any steak house off a casino any place in the world.

Yes the food is OK, yes it's expensive if you're paying for it... YES THERE ARE a million better places to eat in Aruba where you REALLY feel like you're on a TROPCAL ISLAND and on vacation.

Go RIGHT across the street and eat outdoors in Carpe Diem and have an EXPERIENCE or go to Marandi if you're downtown on the other side of the Airport if you really want feel like you're on vacation.

If you're in the casino and want something of QUALITY to eat it's your best bet. But it should not be a destination restaurant you pick on your vacation is Aruba.

“Best steaks on the island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

Even if you are not staying at the Renaissance, if you want steak go to LG Smith. The portions are great, the steaks are cooked just right and they will never rush you.

“Average at best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

the service and the food were both average - nothing special about the atmosphere either. our order was incorrect when they brought the food out the first time. they corrected it but it took a while. We won't be back.
