“Love aruba”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Our first time visiting paradise beach villas. We found it very spacious, clean, and enjoyable. No problem finding space at the pool or the beach. We asked for and received a room overlooking the pool and beach. The atmosphere is quiet and yes it is more of an adult condo.if you enjoy a cocktail after 7 p.m. Go next door to La Cabana or bring your own. Wish the pool bar was larger and open longer.

Room Tip: Email the desk ahead of time. We did.

This is our second stay at PBV and we always enjoynthe no frills but comfortable atmosphere. A mature crowd, we dont miss the kids at all. Eagle Beach is the best and yes, get up early and claim your umbrella and chair. We never had a problem sharing. Dont bother to buy the $35 wifi upgrade as it doesnt work in your room. Save your money and use the free wifi. Reception is poor but then again, maybe it is time to unplug.

The reviews are quite accurate. We traded through Interval and requested a beach front room. We had a large 2 bedroom with a beautiful view of the beach/pool. That was important to us so we were quite happy. The room was spacious, clean, simple and included all we needed but not at all stylish or fancy. The beach is absolutely beautiful here, white sand, turquoise clear waters and quiet compared to the highrise area. We loved it! Yes, the regulars take the shade early. I would advocate for the managers to find way to ensure everyone has a chance over the week. We tended to be more active in the mornings so by the time we wanted the pool or beach chairs/cabanas were vacated. At the end of the week many had gone home so we were able to get a spot on the beach in the morning. Taking the bus or a cab was easy. If you are looking for simple, quiet beach time this is a good place to be!

Room Tip: Request what you want and they will do their best to accomodate you. There are definately rooms tha...

PBV is more of a retirement village than a beach vacation resort, but it is not a bad place to stay. Since most of the older people stay at the pool, there is pleanty of room on the beach. The view of the sunset is unobstructed, but don't plan on sitting on a loung chair on the beach to watch it as they lock the chairs up very early. The rooms are somewhat outdated, but they appear to be in the midst of remodleing the older rooms. The AC unit in our room was very noisy, but worked.
Our room was very damp and dark, but was clean. The desk staff was not very freindly, all businesss. The beach staff was however was very freindly. Bottom line, if you want a vacation without screaming kids and don't mind an older resort, give it a try!

Room Tip: ask for phase II, 3rd floor

Paradise Beach Villas delivered what it was supposed to. It was clean, had all the necessary room essentials, pools are really nice. The rooms are a bit outdated, but we were not there for the room, but the great ocean, 100 yards from the property. A few tips: If you are going to use the pools, GET UP EARLY and claim a Palappa(umbrella) and chairs by placing towels, etc. Same for the beach. If you do not do this, you will have absolutely no shade and it gets pretty hot. The chairs and Palappas are gone by 7 AM. The sunset view from the beach or balcony is something to see, and you can great some pretty pictures. Temperature is a constant 80 degrees, and the ocean was a bit chilly. Be prepared for the wind. This is the windiest island I have been on.

Room Tip: If you use the pool, get a ground floor so you can run out in the AM and claim a Palappa and chairs...

Great location halfway between Oranjestad and Palm Beach. Mostly ate in Oranjestad and shopped/gambled in Palm Beach. Renovated rooms are well appointed. Half our party of eight got renovated rooms (overlooking the parking lot) and half didn't (overlooking the pool). Full kitchen with all the pots, pans, plates, glasses, and utensils you need. Cooked out on the fully accessorized grills one night. Two pools and two hot tubs but they close at 9pm. Short walk across the street to the beach. Towels and lounge chairs provided. Franklin, the bar tender, will keep you in stitches. The downside is they continue to renovate rooms. The jack hammers started at 9am every weekday morning. If you are a night owl, like us, this was very annoying.

Room Tip: They are renovating so make sure you ask how close you will be to this.

I was worried about the rooms reading the reviews. Not to worry as far as I could see the remodels were complete. Our suite number 228 was great. Balcony looking out to the ocean, just had the traffic of the main road to deal with which was not bad at all. It seemed pedestrians were given the right of way so traffic was pretty slow. We had great room service every day.

The Tikki Bar was great Franklin and Rueben were great. The pools were awesome and we really had no problem getting chairs aroung the pool.

Check in and out went great. Thanks to all of the staff who I believe were great.
