“Great hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2009

My husband and I stayed at the Divi Dutch for our wedding anniversary. I thought this hotel was great and it had everything that we needed. The beach was beautiful and very quiet, as we spent most of our time here. I thought the hotel staff was very courteous and helped us any chance they could and the shuttle I found came very often. The resorts are so close together that you don't even need to take the shuttle. We took a trip down to the highrise hotel area and I was quite happy that we stayed at the Divi as it was a lot more private and quiet and less touristy. The bus stop to go into town or the highrise hotel area was right in front of where we stayed. We did not do all-inclusive so we went to the market across the street and got a few things. We ate at Mulligan's or we went into town and ate at local places there. Aruba is such a small island that it's a great place to explore and leave your hotel area. We bought drinks at the Tiki Tiki bar and it was quite reasonable. All in all I really was happy with where we stayed and our room was very clean and very spacious. The staff was very helpful when it came to finding places or directions to places. My only complaint was the lack of cold water but other than that it was great! I would definitely stay here again! Aruba is a beautiful island!

Even though they are building more villas. I found my room to be large and clean. It had a full kitchen which can help in this economy. Every room has a nice size balcony. Its really very good value for the money. I found the management extremely helpful beyond call when I did have a few issues.
The beach is wonderful. Nice pool and bar. Staff friendly. Food good. If you ask when you book they will make sure you are not in hearing distance of any construction. But do make the management aware of any issues. Not the front reception staff as they will fix it fast and make sure you have a happy stay. I would go back!

This was our first trip to Aruba and we loved it! Everyone was so nice and friendly at Divi and around the island. We opted to not do the inclusive package and weren't sorry. The grocery store is literally around the corner. The resort offers a shuttle thru-out the other Divi properties. We thought by far this was the best of the Divi properties. It's newly remodeled and the units are be spacious, clean and comfortable. Housekeeping brought us whatever we requested and did a nice job with our room. The pool is huge and awesome. The beach is right across the street, not even a five minute walk from our unit. There was plenty of chairs and it was never over crowded which is a huge plus! The beach is clean and the sand is soooo soft! I could go on forever...we will definitely be back!

Although not spectuacular- this Resort offered us a most memorable and pleasurable experience on our first trip to Aruba. The staff, for the most part, are enthusiastic, caring, offered some great tips on what to see. Loved the tram/shuttles and the restaurants, esp. Mulligans is very family friendly. The pools are well thought out and water levels fun for all members of the family. A short 10-15 drive to main Hotel stip with the restaurant attractions in Eagle Bay, Divi Resort offers quiet, comfortable and convenience for all family members without the glamor of pricy hotels. If you like history, check out the Coin Museum in Oranjestaad. Definitley would go back.

Room was not very clean. The glass tops looked like they had been cleaned with a muddy cloth. Stuff on the floors-never swept or cleaned.
Then there's the construction-the noise, the machinery, and the supplies thrown all around.
That and the fact that all the chairs around the pool are saved with towels before 8:30AM by people who use them very casually during the day. I even saw one family save four chairs and not use them till 3PM that day.
Not my idea of a great place to stay.

My family and I stayed at this resort in June 2008. We had a one bedroom unit. The room was very clean and roomy for the four of us. We were located right between both pools and maybe 50 feet from the ocean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the groundsman gave my husband a ride to the room with all of the groceries we were carrying back from the market and helped him bring them to our room. The carts were always stopping and asking if you needed or wanted a ride when they saw you walking. The only downfall is if you don't do all inclusive there aren't a lot of choices of places to eat at the resort if you choose not to eat in your unit. We had such a great time we booked again for 2009.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom golf villa and were please with the room and resort itself. We loved the space we had because it made it possible to spread out. The rooms were not luxurious like some resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean but they were clean and functional.

We were travelling with 2 adults and 2 children and did the all inclusive package. This worked really well for us because you have 11 restaurants to choose from and we did not get sick of the food. Our kids like to drink a lot of smoothies which can add up if you pay as you go. Our favorite restaurant by far was Mulligans. The Red Parrott was another good choice. The only restaurant we didn't care for was Ginger.

The beach is beautiful with white sand. We spent a lot of time walking along the water. There isn't a ton of action like on Palm Beach which was fine with us. You could go out any time and find a place to plant yourself on the beach. There seemed to be a little bit older crowd with many retired travellers.

We got bikes one day but the island isn't really set up for bike riding unless you don't mind riding in traffic. That was a bit disappointing. The island is very safe as there is very little crime to speak of. It is affluent compared to other islands so you don't have vendors approaching you every time you turn around.

We really enjoyed Aruba and would recommend it to anyone especially if you are travelling with children.
