“Sun and fun in Aruba”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

An awesome place on a fabulous island - the water is so blue and clear, the sunsets.are phenomenal, wonderful shopping, amazing restaurants. While it is quite warm, there is a constant breeze blowing so you are comfortable. The Divi Dutch village is a conglomerate of timeshares, but there are usually units available for rent.

This was our first trip to Aruba, but we went with another couple who were seasoned Aruba visitors. Stayed at the Links at the Divi Golf and Beach Resort. Our friends had a one bedroom timeshare and we were able to add a suite adjoining theirs for a very reasonable $431. The suite was roomy, clean and comfortable. It had everything you needed for a week's stay. The maid service was great. We enjoyed the clean infinity pool witrha swim up bar. The beach across the street was one of the nicest beaches I have been too. White sand, clean beach and water. Very Nice!!

I checked in the last week of April 2013. I stayed in Eagle V bldg. My condo was large and spacious. I was on the patio floor. It had comforts like sound surround for the flat screen in the living room. The furniture was somewhat aged but clean. The condo has two full baths including Jacuzzi tubs. There are two patios, one outside the living room and the other outside the master bedroom. There is plenty of closet space. I stayed in a one bedroom. The king size bed was welcomed after a long flight. The kitchen has marble countertops and updated appliances. The living room is roomy and it adjoins the dining room. The table has chairs for six. The décor was pleasant and the grounds were well kept. On the top of the bldg there is a four person hot tub. There is a gas grill and a table with chairs that makes the area cozy. Also there is a nice sink for cleaning up. Bring your own music. The area is secured with a card entry drive through and a guard. The beach there is a must to see. At night the sunsets on the beach are romantic. Bring a camera. There are local stores to walk to and a Save a Lot market within ten minutes driving time. Also don’t forget on Thursday’s. There is a Caribbean Carnival located in San Nicholaas downtown area. It starts around seven at night.

We really enjoyed Divi Dutch but it took a little getting used too. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was very spacious, and fairly clean. House keeping was great, very friendly and quite often even did our dishes. The restaurants at Divi are all in the Tamarind and Links and are a bit of a hassle because they are designed for the all inclusive guests. if you want to eat their you need to buy a voucher at the front desk.If you are a wifi freak the reception is pathetic and not worth the money($50.00 a week). We tried getting technical support for it but they never showed up and after 3 attempts we simply gave up and cancelled it.
It is very convenient beach wise though and they had many excellent pools and Jacuzzi's. The Divi Dutch is an excellent place if you are the kind of person who is on vacation with a budget. The kitchen was excellent for making small meals and their is a great grocery store (Ling's IGA) just down the street. It is close to all the amenities and downtown and they have shuttles for getting you around the resort for free.

We went to Aruba, a few days early before checking to THE DIVI PHONEIX , And at the Divi Golf Resort. It's laid-out very nicely. They take you around on their golf carts right to your condo. We had a great location in front of us was one of their pools and spas and on the side of the master bedroom was lagoon. Their resort is on the golf course. And the condo was so comfortable and pretty. There decor was great. Aruba is so wonderful we fell in love with it, and the people. We wen 9/2011. TRIPADVISOR doesn't have a space for 2011 so it's on their as 2012. We've been lucky to have had such wonderful vacations and still going on vacations about 4 or 5 times a year. Sometime we have mini vacations too. We are headed for Cabo San Lucas at the end of August for 2 weeks . One week at The Haceinda Del Mar and then the other week at Pueblo Bonito Sunset. Haceinda Del Mar it a 3 bedroom 3 or 4 baths can't remember but when we return i'll let ypu know because i intend to write about it. And Pueblo Bonito Sunset it's 2 bedrooms 2 baths oceanview. But back to Divi you can't go wrong with either one of those Divi's. One's ocean and the other is Golf.

Room Tip: again my advise is to get a high floor and cornor room and you can't go wrong. call ahead and re...

Amenities that we used were great....we are not golfers so didn't take full advantage. Most employees very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Maid service great. Room very nice and seemed to have been updated recently. Furniture typical, not wonderful but not bad either. Food and service at Mulligans above average, but food and service at Seabreeze, not so much. Overall a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: We had 2255 which overlooked the 9th hole of the golf course and had a slight ocean view as well as...

We stayed at Divi Village Beach & Golf 4/13/13 – 4/20/13, and our first time in Aruba. We purchased this week as an Extra Vacation through RCI. This is a very nice resort, however I have a couple minor complaints which prevents me to rate it 4-5 stars.

We were in Eagle 2 building – 2309, on the third floor. Our unit was a one bedroom. The bedroom was rather dark but conducive to sleeping , and the unit had two full bathrooms, which was convenient. My boyfriend could get up and shower early, and not disturb me while I slept in. This unit was spacious enough for the two of us, with plenty of drawer and closet space for our clothes. The washer and dryer are definitely a plus, however be sure to bring your own detergent and fabric softener. The balcony overlooked the pool, which we liked. It was enjoyable to watch the activity at the pool, in lieu of having an ocean view. It was large enough for a table and four chairs, plus a lounger without feeling cramped. My boyfriend smokes, and unfortunately there were no ashtrays provided, so he had to use my used Balashi cans. At least they were “recycled”. The kitchen area was sufficiently equipped, but not with good quality kitchen tools. Coffee pot didn’t fit the coffee maker, the toaster didn’t toast amongst other things. Instead of a roll of towels, they supplied us with those thin brown paper towels you find in public restrooms stacked on a shelf. It seemed as if they were really cutting corners to save a few dollars. The maid came in every day to take out the garbage; but never replaced the used towel with new, except for the Wednesday cleaning. There were no musty odors in our unit that others have complained about. However I did not feel the floor was cleaned properly; it had a grimy feel when you walked around barefoot. In fact, I washed my slippers during our stay, because they were getting dark both on the outside sole and inside the slipper. :>( Also, there was a thick layer of dust on the artificial plants in the room. Because of this I am giving the resort three stars (which I am torn – this is a beautiful resort); but there is no reason not to wash the floors thoroughly between guests.

As I mentioned, we were on the third floor which provided a nice view. But two things come in mind which may prove to be a disadvantage to having the nicer view. One is there was no elevator that we could see. Not a problem with everyday walking (I need the exercise), however when you are trying to drag 50 pound suitcases along with the week’s groceries up 3 flights of stairs, it can be a bit of a workout. And especially after lugging those suitcases up, the key doesn’t work and you have to go back down to the Lobby to have them reprogram it! Frustrating. Also, being on the third floor, you may be directly under the Jacuzzi as we were. Which would be fine if you are the only ones using it. However, one night our next door neighbors decided to use it at 2:00 in the morning. We heard the jets going (sounded like the washer machine was running in our kitchen - thank goodness the Jacuzzi wasn’t directly over our bed) and the neighbors were so talking so loudly, we couldn’t get to sleep. It was a remote incident, and thankfully they appeared to have left the next day.

The pool here is really, really nice; one of the best I’ve seen at a timeshare resort. There is also a good size separate Jacuzzi. Towels were plentiful, and we changed out the wet for dry several times during the day with no problem. I’m not sure when the resort is fully booked whether there would be a problem finding a lounge chair; I arrived at the pool rather late one afternoon, and was only able to find one lounger off in a corner. The towel chair markers came out rather early in the mornings, saving the loungers under the palapas. Aruba was very windy (breezy isn’t the right word) during our stay. I would recommend bringing clips to attach the towel to the chair, because by the time you turn around to lie down on it, the towel will be blown off!

The grounds were very pretty since it is situated around the golf course, and very nicely maintained. There was always someone working on the landscape. From what we could see, there were plenty of golf carts transporting guests to their destinations, and plenty of parking spaces for those of us with rental cars. Everyone we encountered was polite and friendly. We did not use the golf course or the restaurants on site. I noticed during our stay the guests were either 50 years on up, or families with young children. This may not be the resort for honeymooners, or young couples looking to party.

If asked if I would go back to this resort, I would say probably. Would I buy a timeshare here? No. All in all, I really liked the resort, and even though it was not on the beach, the short walk was not a problem for us and the beach was great. Not crowded and plenty of chairs and palapas. I gave the mediocre rating in the hope that management checks Trip Advisor reviews and will supervise the cleanliness of the rooms more closely.
