“A nice resort that really makes for a great vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

The room was huge and clean – We had a 1 bedroom unit that had a galley kitchen, dining area, living room, ½ bath and patio on the first floor and a large bedroom with two closets and a full bath on the second floor. They have Dish for TV, so I was actually able to watch the Thursday night football game which I can’t do at home (Go Giants!). There is also a DVD player. The kitchen has no oven, but it does have a convection/microwave (it’s vacation – stop cooking!). The bed was comfortable. The unit did not have a view of the beach, but that is never an issue for us. While these buildings are older, they are well maintained. The grounds are beautiful and clean. The 3 pools are nice – each different, however, our preferred pool is across the street at the Divi Golf Resort. It is an infinity pool with a swim up bar (the bar also offers sandwiches, hot dogs and ice cream). There is a water slide, as well. The beach is an extremely short walk from the room. There are free chairs and permanent umbrellas made of palms all along the beach. Be sure to get out there by 7:30 in the morning if you want to get under one of these umbrellas, as people tend to save them, but then never even show up during the day. The location is excellent if you want to save some money and don’t go all inclusive. You can walk to three supermarkets. Also, if you are looking to save some money, check which on-property bars have happy hours and when they have them They are not always at the same time. I recommend renting a car for at least 2 days to explore the island (I rent for my entire stay) as the best snorkeling is north or south of the DIVI resorts and the dunes and lighthouse are certainly worth a visit. The new check-in location at the Golf Resort is huge and all 4 times I went over there, I was the only person so everything was fast. And the people that work at the report are extremely nice. We do not own here but we do plan on returning.

Room Tip: Try to get the 2 level one bedroom unit.

“Dutch Village”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

We used a friends timeshare. Although spacious, the interior was very dated with a very small kitchen. Good location to walk to grocery stores, and bus areas. The outside area was beautiful, very clean. And the security was great. The pools were very clean, and well kept. Some of the other Divi buildings are newer inside. The entertainment and food at the Divi Resorts is great, and they are starting to update the Dutch Village Area, but as of now,not the best rooms weve been in, especially if your going to cook to save money. Also no dishwasher.

“Must come back-- Hands Down!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

Our unit was literally fifteen feet away from one of the pools. and less than 100 feet from the beach!! the sand is white and the area is very clean. Divi seems to pride itself in cleanliness. Our resort was clean and tidy everyday. as you walk through the resort, there is not much trash around. SHUTTLES!!! Shuttles are amazing (please tip the drivers!!) they take you to where you need to go and are very friendly. they are knowledgeable about Aruba. I would come back just because of the excellent service!

“Well worth every penny!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012 via mobile

Just arrived home from a two week visit in Aruba!! Divi Dutch was a home away from home for us, and we greatly enjoyed our stay here!!! The room was big and clean, I was very satisfied with everything that came with the room. A good size kitchen, that has everything you need, in case you actually want to attempt some easy cooking. The bed was enormous, a little hard, but I like my beds firm. And if one actually goes out and experiences Aruba, snorkeling, biking, shopping, etc., by the time you get back to the room you'll just want to lay down and have a wonderful night of sleep. Which is what we did every night! This room already comes with a blow-dryer, so no need to pack one, they have shampoo, soap, lotion, and body wash, but we only used the shampoo. Our room 122 was at a great location! Near the exit of the hotel, and as soon as we opened our patio door we were pretty much in the pool, which I loved!! And, only a short walk to the beach. For those who like to snorkel this is not the spot, must go outside the resort for that, but a beautiful beach otherwise. What I recommend for those who would like to take advantage of this hotel, use everything that is available to you here. They have free lunch, free salsa dancing, and much more!! We didn't realize this until it was too late. One of the channels on tv shows everything that is available to all the guests, and there are also announcements throughout the resort. So keep an eye out! Also if you are not on the all inclusive plan, I recommend getting a car, so you can really experience Aruba to the fullest and have the chance to taste all the amazing restaurants! When arriving at the airport, there is a I heart Aruba book!! Use this!! Inside are a ton of discounts, freebies, and much more!! When I say freebies, I mean 20% off food, free beer, free souvenirs and much more!! Also, if you do rent a car, the only downside is that chance of it getting broken in to. So please never leave any items in the car, and always lock your doors. And if possible park near the main entrance, there is more light there, and this is where the security guards stay. We did this and our car was fine. I hope this helps, a bit lengthy but I want every one to experience Aruba as we did! One more thing, if you are willing to do this, bring some food, which will help, because food is expensive, amazing but expensive! Bon dia!

“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

Stayed in a studio suite at the Dutch Village with my wife and had a wonderful experience. We spent 10 days there from 7/29 to 8/7. We were on the second floor in front of the 3rd pool at the far end of the resort. We booked online through cheapcaribbean.
Pros: The room was very clean and plenty of towels were provided. The room was cleaned every day and they even did our dishes. Grocery stores and shops are right across the street. The beach was only steps away and was absolutely gorgeous. White sand, crystal clear water, small waves, warm, and perfect. The pool in front of our unit was very nice with a large round hot tub at one end. There are 3 pools on the property. Fully stocked kitchenette made preparing meals and blended drinks a breeze.
Cons: No ocean view, faced the back of the Tamarijn rooms since they are beach front. You have to reserve the beach chairs and palapas before 7 a.m. since everyone puts their towels on them early.
Tips: Rent a car, even if only for a few days, to explore the island and stock up on groceries. We had a jeep the whole time and went everywhere. Tip your maid. I only left a couple dollars a day but our maid was very appreciative. Wear lots of sunscreen and reapply during the day. The island breeze makes it feel like you are not getting as much sun.
Overall we had a wonderful trip and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
