To the negative review writers of this resort I say "What the heck else could you want for the money??!!??" This is a deal anyway you slice it! Now on to the review!
Rooms - Clean, clean, clean. Our sheets were changed daily, fresh towels were provided daily, every surface was wiped and the tile floors were mopped. We kept an extra towel on the floor in front of the sliding glass door to help catch the sand as we came in from the beach (ground floor, and yes, the beach is literally steps from your door) and the maid also replaced that daily. We asked for extra pillows and they were promptly provided to us. We would hang the maid sign on the knob on our way to breakfast, and when we returned all was neat and clean. As to location, many reviewers have recommended buildings 1900-2400 because there are no rocks. (The rocks are large boulders that line parts on the beach at the waters edge. The beach itself is clear of rocks.) However, we stayed in 1209 and highly recommed the 1100 and 1200 building. There are no rocks at all in front of the 1100 and lower 1200 buildings, plus the large rockless beach between the Divi and the Tam is steps away. This location also puts you close to water sports center, the pool and the restaurants, bar and lobby.
Food - The food was adequate, plentiful, fresh and served with a smile! The buffet offers a wide variety of foods everyday, at night there are themes, such as Barbeque, Oriental, Caribbean etc. We ate at all three "sit down" restaurants. The Palm Grill (where you stir fry your own meal on your table/cooktop) was fun and delicious, the Paparazzi was our favorite, and The Red Parrot (Divi) served a very good filet. All of our servers were friendly and provided prompt service.
Activities - We snorkeled around the bunker bar and at Baby Beach (15 minute cab ride - go!), kayaked and played tennis. We never had to wait for equipment or were told that we couldn't go out. There are plenty of float mats - we floated in the Caribbean for hours! You can leave your beach towels on your lounger to save it and no one will bother it. The pool was clean and open 24 hours - the kids were beginning to grow gills by the time we left. There is also a small aracade with the usual aracade games, a pool table and an internet kiosk. You can buy an access card at the front desk. You can take the bus into town for $2.00 round trip for shopping and sightseeing. There are also shops at the resort.
We hated to leave and will defintely be back next year - for a longer period of time!
