To the negative review writers of this resort I say "What the heck else could you want for the money??!!??" This is a deal anyway you slice it! Now on to the review!
Rooms - Clean, clean, clean. Our sheets were changed daily, fresh towels were provided daily, every surface was wiped and the tile floors were mopped. We kept an extra towel on the floor in front of the sliding glass door to help catch the sand as we came in from the beach (ground floor, and yes, the beach is literally steps from your door) and the maid also replaced that daily. We asked for extra pillows and they were promptly provided to us. We would hang the maid sign on the knob on our way to breakfast, and when we returned all was neat and clean. As to location, many reviewers have recommended buildings 1900-2400 because there are no rocks. (The rocks are large boulders that line parts on the beach at the waters edge. The beach itself is clear of rocks.) However, we stayed in 1209 and highly recommed the 1100 and 1200 building. There are no rocks at all in front of the 1100 and lower 1200 buildings, plus the large rockless beach between the Divi and the Tam is steps away. This location also puts you close to water sports center, the pool and the restaurants, bar and lobby.

Food - The food was adequate, plentiful, fresh and served with a smile! The buffet offers a wide variety of foods everyday, at night there are themes, such as Barbeque, Oriental, Caribbean etc. We ate at all three "sit down" restaurants. The Palm Grill (where you stir fry your own meal on your table/cooktop) was fun and delicious, the Paparazzi was our favorite, and The Red Parrot (Divi) served a very good filet. All of our servers were friendly and provided prompt service.

Activities - We snorkeled around the bunker bar and at Baby Beach (15 minute cab ride - go!), kayaked and played tennis. We never had to wait for equipment or were told that we couldn't go out. There are plenty of float mats - we floated in the Caribbean for hours! You can leave your beach towels on your lounger to save it and no one will bother it. The pool was clean and open 24 hours - the kids were beginning to grow gills by the time we left. There is also a small aracade with the usual aracade games, a pool table and an internet kiosk. You can buy an access card at the front desk. You can take the bus into town for $2.00 round trip for shopping and sightseeing. There are also shops at the resort.

We hated to leave and will defintely be back next year - for a longer period of time!

stayed at the tamarijn for october 22 to the 29th. a great deal for the price.
rooms: standard size and clean. all rooms are oceanfront with ground floor or 2nd floor. beach and ocean is right outside you door. make sure you request early when booking that you want the buildings in the 1900 block up. there are rocks that make it very difficult to get into the ocean from rooms lower than the 1900 block. we were in the 2200 block.
food: food was good. breakfast buffet was good. omelete station also. papparazi was excellent, and red parrot at the divi was excellent. you need to make reservations for both of these places in the morning or the day before. they have a pizza bar during the day and night that serves different kinds of pizza, chicken nuggets, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, etc. until 1:00 am. drinks were excellent ! try the hurricane..
extras: they have extra long golf carts that shuttle you from the rooms to the lobby, divi, and also to the alhambra casino and back. they run continuously until approx. 1:00/2:00 am. this is fantastic. no charge for this. if you get tired of swimming in the ocean, you can use the pools in the dutch villiage which is right behind you. approx. 4 of them. no problem in finding loungers and cabbanas on the beach or at the pools. no charge for floaters, noodles, or bikes- another great deal at the tam. book your vacation at the tam, you will be glad you did. the divi is nice too, but it will cost you more. any questions, you can e-mail me at waterfront47@aol.com

Oh my what a beautiful resort! All inclusive is the way to go. Between the Tam and Divi and the Beach at your feet(really!), my cousin and I could not of been more pleased!!
We are 48 and 50, both married but our husbands could not go, so we went together. We had the best time with everything, not one problem or complaint.
We got the room we asked for right by the bar on the beach-many thanks to our great bartenders Reuben, Rudy and Carmen. We had the most fun with them, every day they have a new drink of the day all were tropical and well made(a little too much alcohol at times and I am not a tea tottler, let them know if you want a less stiff drink. Best of all if you like bananna daquiri's they use the real fruit and all drinks are made with top shelf liquiors. All of the pizza/burger huts had great food. the buffets were very good and well presented. Bernardo on the wait staff is very friendly and helpful.
The Palm Grill at the Tam was fun, you get to cook your own food on your table(like we do here in the US at some oriental places), but this one you do yourself.
The Red Parriott was good and the Paparazzi Italian was awesome.
We do not have one thing bad to say about our trip. Housekeeping was great, rooms were spotless and all staff were exceptionally nice. The beach is beautiful and the sunsets are none we have ever seen before, georgeous.
We did the Palm Pleasure snorkel, snuba, scuba and went parasailing, had the best time ever.
Oh, I can't forget the golf cart drivers that drive you all over both resorts and the Alhambra casino, they are very nice, helpful and always there for a lift. Late at night after we went to the main center of the hotel were the action and fun is every night, out side of course, so warm and enchanting, our drivers would take us right back to our building so we did not have to walk at dark. But we did however. do alot of that, you have no fears here. No one bothers you, not even the braid your hair ladys or drug dealers. No nude beaches, in case your wondering.
I will have to tell you one really nice thing that did happen to us, we met 3 couples from England that did not even know each other and we all bonded and had drinks, dance. talk and a lot of fun together. So in closing HI to Tim, Zoe, Geoff, Connie, Mark and Bev you all made our vacation so many happy memories, we think of you often and miss you. For all others reading this that got this far....GO TO ARUBA AND STAY AT THE TAMARJIN/DIVI BEACH RESORTS. You will not be disappointed. I like the Tam better only because of the awesome beach front rooms with views. The Divi also has good views, but they are at an angle not straight on. If you stay at the Tam ask for rooms in the 1900-2500, we had 1918, their are no rocks on the beachfront and the bar is steps away..
P.S. With all my pictures, my husband and I are planning for next October, same dates 4th-13, it was a quiet beach and no children.
By all means go here, the other hotels, like the Radissun they are not on the beach they are across from a Marina and all the tourist stands downtown. From where we were you can go to the corner and get a bus for $1.25 US and go to town to shop if you want. Your room by request can have a refridgerator and a safe. Oh one last bit. they do not care if you tip, they still take care of you, for that reason we did......Hope all have as fun as we did if you decide to try this, OK you can tell we had a good time, last but not least the reptiles no problem, if they see you they hide. Bon Bini.....

We honeymooned at the Tamrarjin and enjoyed ourselves very much. The resort itself is beautiful and very clean. The reason we picked the resort is because we wanted to be right on the beach as opposed to other resorts that you weren't guaranteed an ocean view. When we looked on the internet at the place that our travel agent suggested (tamarjin) it looked really basic. It is exactly like the picture. The rooms are extremely basic but you get to be right on the beach and they are really clean. To us being on the beach and being secluded was very important to us. The food is really good and people are really friendly. Just some things to prepare you... 1. The beach by some of the rooms and in the water is really rocky.
The water is really pretty though. 2. There are little ant type bugs that can get into the bathroom.
3.The drinks and food are great.
We really had a great time and will go back.

We spent our honeymoon week at the Tam and love every minuted of it. Our room was very close to the water, the staff was very friendly, and drinks were excellent. We did do a bit of walking to get to some of the places, but you really need to after all the food they have. They do have some restaurants that you can order food, but we loved the buffet because then you can sit by the water. We highly recommend this hotel if you want to relax. We are definitely going to go back next year.
