“Beautiful View from room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

We stayed on the third floor and had a magnificent view of the ocean. Room was very spacious with a sitting area and a huge balcony. Room was clean and linens were acceptable. It was a very slow week when we were there so that made it extremely nice. Bars were great and offered a wide verity of alcohol which was all inclusive too. Buffet left much to be desired, majority of the food was not good and the rest was very dried out and old. They leave the doors open to the buffet so don't be surprised to see lots of flies and birds eating from the buffet also. Special restaurants on the property were a little better but not one meal I can say stuck out as being great. Very warm and humid in Aruba but there is always a breeze too keep you cool. We went downtown on the bus and felt very safe at all times. Resort does have security but we had no reason to feel unsafe at any time. We will return here next year but I sure hope the food has improved.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money to stay on the top floor, the view is worth every penny.

We stayed at the Divi during the week of 4/9/14-4/16/14. We have been to many all inclusives in the Caribbean(nine in all) and we would rate this one of the tops. The rooms were nice and clean, appeared to be updated - not anything extravagant, but who needs it you are never in the room! Our rooms were at a perfect location - 335, 336 and 345 all rooms beach frontage and footsteps from the restaurant and pools! They have a decent amount of chairs around the pool and the sunpads were fabulous - in fact we purchased one for our own outdoors! Another plus was there was a lot of covered areas for you to sit or lay under - we had my mother in law with us and she appreciated this - especially the hammocks! We have four children ranging in ages from 4-17, and the elder ones brought friends along, no one had a problem with finding "fun". There were a fair bit of activities offered and you could partake or not - they were over zealous in getting people involved. I read it was loud - we did not find that in any way shape or form! I think they need to lighten up a bit - you are in the Caribbean! The drinks were good and the food was too! My kids loved the strawberry daiquiris - made with fresh strawberries! There was a large selection, especially at lunch and dinner I found myself not getting tired of it like I have at some other resorts! There was a fish they had served several times - it started with a c - it was excellent!!! Yes, you did have to make reservations for the restaurants - but it was not too much of a hassle - we did not care If we had to eat late - it just meant more time enjoying the outdoors! The temperature was perfect - mid eighties and it was windy - apparently more than usual - did not bother us, occasional sand hitting you with the gusts if you were laying on the beach, might bother some - not us. The wind also helped I am sure in keeping any insects away - because we had no issues with them at all! The beach here is beautiful, between the sand - not rocky, sunsets and the waves which the kids and adults had fun jumping in! You had plenty of pools to choose from with having access to the Tamarijin and the Divi Village, also shuttle service was very convenient too! I loved the towel service - very laid back - no restrictions on how many per day etc! We did a couple excursions - one we rented jeeps and a guide and he took us all over - natural bridge, water hole, snorkeling - the seaside was breathtaking! We also did the Jolly Pirates ship ride - lots of fun between sailing, jumping off the ship, snorkeling! Being a parent of 4 - one thing I found that I felt very safe at this resort - no one offering drugs, harassing you on the beach, no college break kids, etc - that was not true in Jamaica, Costa Rica or Turks.
All in all I would rate this an A and would recommend any one to stay here, if you want, sun, fun & relaxation! Do not let those negative reviews steer you away - it is apparent they would be hard to please under any circumstances! We will definitely be coming back!!!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks in October 2013 for our honeymoon and loved every second of it. Some people have said that it is dated which I suppose it is a little, but this isn't something that bothers us. As long as the rooms are clean, which they were, then we're happy. They had also clearly updated the bathroom recently and aircon worked well.

Tho only thing that was slightly irritating was having to reserve tables at the restaurants and we only seemed to be able to get a really early table or quite a late table, we didn't seem to be able to eat at around 7/7.30 even if we booked the table as early as we could, but again not a huge issue for us.

We found the staff to be very friendly and when sat at the bar, if the barstaff saw your drink was almost empty they would replace it without you having to ask.

We took the option of going for dinner at Windows which was the restaurant across the road at the golf resort as they offered it as a honeymoon special. I would highly recommend going there if it is a special occasion or you are on your honeymoon as the food was just fantastic.

It was really quite windy when we went but then again you are in the Carribean and it's pretty hot so a breeze was very welcome most of the time.

If what you're looking for is a totally relaxing holiday with a beautiful beach then this is definitely the place for you.

We heard that it is always windy there but more so the week we stayed! Too windy to swim at the beach, and the pool is not too easy to use for seniors. But did spend lots of time in the sun. Just a really pretty resort with an amazing beach. Lots of lounge chairs at the beach, but not not enough places to sit by the pool. Not much entertainment. Altogether a very quiet resort.

We stayed in Vista 2 on the first floor and the rooms had been recently redone, and very comfortable. Wish there was some soft drinks in the fridge, and a coffee maker, but no. The food at the buffet was quite varied and good, but didn't stay hot long enough. The Red Parrot was good, but the coconut shrimp was tough. Also ate at Paparazzi, the food there was just so, so. We enjoyed the pizza by the pool, and I loved the Rum Runners!

It was nice to have golf carts to get us down to the Tamarijn. We only left the resort once for a catamaran snorkeling trip. Very beautiful out on the water. The trip home was very long, what with customs and immigration in Aruba. Lots of standing in line, even though on a Tuesday! It took about three hours, and was more complicated than usual. And I had a 4 hour layover in Miami, which was where I expected customs. Probably won't go back, although we had a really nice time overall!

Room Tip: First floor a good choice, as long as you keep the doors closed and locked! Vista 2 the best locati...

To be fair, we normally never do all inclusive and prefer a local approach like bed and breakfasts. This was our first time at an all inclusive and sadly our last. The service was great, the rooms were clean, beach was beautiful and so was the pool. Now for the cons.. If you're looking for buffet style eating, cruise-ship like entertainment, watered down drinks, no trace of Aruban culture and TONS of Canon-ball, loud personalities from the guests, you've got the right place. It just was not for us... It's almost like we never left New York... Isn't the idea of a vacation to escape?

six of usTraveled March 14-24 to the beautiful island of Aruba. Stayed at the Divi all inclusive for the 8 th time. Rooms have been updated with new bathrooms and furniture. The beach has to be one of the best anywhere. The staff is outstanding, from the front desk, the concierge to the bartenders. a new buffet had many choices, I am picky and always found something good. Ginger at the Tam is my favorite ala carte. I would recommend the divi to anyone, I have no idea what some negative reviews are talking about, unless they expect WAY too much. we will return in 2015.

Room Tip: We always stay in the Casitas

It's a great hotel with one of the most beautiful beaches. Close to the City and not gar from the airport. The nearest mall is the Alhambra mall. The rooms are nice, and staff is friendly. The food is ok, but after a few days you would be craving for something else. Every 15 minutes there is a bus to the city or high rise hotel area. Bus rides cost you about $2 to the city or back...

During my stay I was surprised there was no Free Wifi, not even in designated areas. The wireless coverage is excelent. You just have to purchase a package for your stay. I find nowadays hotels should offer guests free basic and premium internet access. Especially an all inclusive hotel should consider this.

But this didn't spoil the fun I had during my stay.
