“MaeB”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

I do agree that the decor needs some update. The rooms are clean and the staff are great. Always plenty of hot water and plenty of towels. We spend most of our time at the beach or touring the island. Love the beach.
Really need new pillows. Also like having Dunkin Donuts near. A+

Room Tip: We like the ground floor do not like to spend time in elevator.

“First Use Of Our Timeshare”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

We were some of the unlucky people who bought the timeshare the year before it went belly up. We have rented it out every year since it reopened but this year we stayed ourselves. Because of a mix up with RCI (NEVER get sucked into one of their properties!) we needed a roof over our heads for Week 4. We arranged an in house exchange and bingo we were golden. I agree with everyone that it is dated. But it was clean and everyone was oh so friendly. The new manager, Brian, is attentive and concerned. Any maintenance issue was resolved quickly.

“Good budget hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Okay yes the decor is outdated but we were hardly in our room. The rooms are spacious, they are all suites with a living room, dining area and kitchen. The staff is really great, especially Glenda at the front desk and Enrique at the pool bar. When we checked in, our room was dirty. I was so disappointed thinking what way to start off our trip. So we immediately went down to tell them and Glenda set us up in a wonderful poolside room. Our trip came with breakfast each morning which wasn't a standard continental breakfast, we got to order from a menu. The grocery store is a short walk and we picked up snacks and alcohol. You can also order hot sandwiches. Eagle Beach is just a short walk and there is a beach bar to order drinks and food. Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins is right on the property for your coffee fix. Anywhere else you want to go is a short taxi ride away. If you have kids they will enjoy the waterslide. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

“Aruba trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

This hotel is sad, the decor is VERY 70'S AND 80'S. I see some people are happy, but this hotel has some timeshare owners that were ripped off and are very angry with this place, but only stay because they didnt want to give up what they paid for. The employees were awesome, Raymond the bellhop always happy and willing to help in anyway at any time!! Pool area is beautiful with a waterfall on one side and big slide on other with swim up bar.Lots of iguanas around, but I'm ok with that. Grocery store right across street. Overall when Aruba it's like they say one happy island, how much time do you stay in room anyway? Recommend maybe, but I'll let you decide.

“Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Very nice hotel, great value.
We had booked this trip all very last minute and were pleasantly surprised. Yes the hotel is a little tired but is undergoing renovations, the rooms and amenities are all very clean. It was great having a full size kitchen as we were able to make lunches and also have wine and beer in our full size fridge, the kitchen is very well equipped. We had a ground floor suite with a king size bedroom, tv in bedroom and living room and the air conditioning worked fine, we had ours turned right down to minimum and found it quite cold at times but they ask you not to turn them off due to condensation. In our package breakfast was included and we had a choice of either eating at The Crazy Parrot - poolside bar or going over to Busters casino and bar, the food was good at both places. We ate out every night and there was plenty of choices within walking distance of the hotel, Tulip was great value for money, Passions on the Beach is very romantic and the food great. We also took the bus several times and found it very easy to get around at $2.30 p.person and they run very frequently, we took the bus into Oranjestad and also went in the other direction to Palm Beach area which was very busy and had plenty of restaurants to choose from.
You really must go to happy hour at The Crazy Parrot and visit with Enrique who has a wonderful jolly disposition and oh what a laugh he has, such a happy person.
The first person you meet at this hotel is Raymond the bellhop who is very helpful and willing to help with all your needs.
The lady that books all the tours is a wonderful person and booked trips for us, we went on The Atlantis Submarine trip which we thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely recommend this trip,
We went to the spa (which is on property) one afternoon for a massage, we needed our legs massaged as we had done so much walking and we felt wonderful afterwards, so relaxing.
We walked over to the supermarket several times, we found a walkway at the side of the hotel which brought us out opposite the supermarket, just cross the road - so nice and close and easy to get to.
Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel, thank you to all the staff.

Additionally, there is a Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, Mini-market, Community Grills and the Crazy Parrot Swim-up Bar. Plus, there is a grocery store right across the street. There are many other restaurants within walking distance and our concierge in the lobby will be happy to make a reservation for you.The Trop Club & Casino is a boutique casino with 100 slot machines and 7 table.
