We stayed at The Aruban Resort before moving to our timeshare. I was concerned because of the bad post on Trip Advisor. Our only complaints: The towel hut ran out of towels and check-in/check-out was slow. There was a line of tired travelers waiting to check in and 2 clerks at the desk. We were shown to a nice clean suite on the 4th floor by Henry the bellman. We were very pleased with the suite. The staff were nice, didn't go out of the way but would help when asked. Dunkin Donuts is in the coutyard so we enjoyed a fast and simple breakfast of coffee and donuts on our balcony. 9:00am went for pool towels only to be told no towels available until 10:00. We would stay again for the price we paid.

We have been coming to Aruba since 1998, our timeshare is at the Aruba Pheonix, which is very nice. We and another couple usually come a few days before our timeshare week and have stayed at La Cabana, and now the Aruban several times. Service has never been the best. But this year was the worse, and the rooms are getting run down and stinky. They just don't seem clean. The other couple stayed more days then us this time. Also, our plane was delayed so we missed our following flight to Aruba and had to stay overnight in Atlanta and pay for another hotel. The Aruban would not refund the night we missed even though we called. And even after talking to a manager, they were most unhelpful. Then it also took 4 phone calls to get a crib . 1st they brought us a high chair, I'm not sure why. 2 calls and 2 hours later we finally got the crib around 9pm. Next time we will stay at the Divi Dutch Village.

My husband, daughter and I stayed at the Aruban Resort and Casino for a week over Easter Break. I was wary after reading the TA reviews, but it was much better than we expected. Every thing was clean and in good working order. So what if the bathroom fixtures are blue! It was great to have a separate bedroom and a kitchen. We were never bothered by timeshare staff (we did not answer the phone)! We had a room on the fifth floor and it was very quiet. The beach is close and very nice. The pool was cool, clean, and usually had chairs available. The Casino was small but not too crowded.

The weather was perfect--hot, sunny and windy. The restaurants we went to were all fine, except for Senor Frogs (which was a rip off with very bad food). We have stayed in much more expensive and upscale resorts (and have paid alot more money), but thought this was a very good value. We would stay here again.

We were a total of 11 people on this trip with 5 children ranging from 4 to 12 years of age. We picked the Aruban for its great value in price. We were very well aware of the upgrading the resort needed as for my inlaws stay there twice a year ,every year. We had an issue with all three rooms not being ready on time and one room was still occupied. That problem was resolved by being moved to another room in one of the other buildings. The rooms were very dated and in well need of refurbishment. I personally had the oppertunity to walk through one of the newly renovated rooms while they were doing a photo shoot. I must say it was beautiful. The new fitness room opened the last day I was there and that was very nice as well. The service was great and all the staff was very nice. Like any where in aruba You need patience, as for service is very slow. However our cleaning lady was there every morning around 9:00 and did an ok job. Towels was an issue almost every day. One wash cloth just doesn't do it when ther is foyr people per room. There were a few things that didn't work in the room like one of the burners on the stove and the GFI plug in the bathroom was broken. Maintenance fixed the problems right away. The two pools were great and the one with the slide was a big hit with the kids and the adults as well. There really are not any restaraunts on the grounds but you can get a burger or hot dog at the pool bar which is pretty good. Don't worry, Aruba is full of fine dining. Le Petite Cafe is my personal favorite and there is one just across the street "not for chlidren". You will be very impressed with every restaraunt on the island as for they are all great. There are many activities to choose from. Aruba is all of our favorite vacation destination. The weather guarenteed te be nice all the time. No matter where you stay you will enjoy.

Aruba is great but this hotel is not!! The place is run down and in need of repair. The furniture is old and worn. The sheets/blankets were thin and scratchy, the curtains had burn holes all over them. Our phone was not working for the first few days and we didn't even know it till we tried to use it and we had to get a new one. After showering the water remained in the tub ,I had to call maintenence and he removed huge amounts of hair from the drain. The same happened with the bathroom sink but I didn't have the heart to embarrass the worker. Mold was everywhere as described by other reviews and the room not entirely clean, especially the dishes/glasses in the kitchen and the floors. (YUCH!!) The seat/couch cushions were stained and there were splatters of different colors of who-knows-what on the bathroom walls. But the worst was probably the hotels' location. You are located near a 4 lane highway AND your bedroom is directly next to the walkway so you get to hear every single person walking by with suitcases, just talking and the cleaning people in the am. between the highway and the walkway there is absolutely no sleeping here. The doors slam loudly and you can hear everything and everyone next to you. On a good note, we loved the island and would go again, just not to this place. There are many great restaurants and alot of things to do. I would like to add I am NOT a primadonna and do not require 4 star resorts but I do require clean and comfortable. You will not get that here. Sorry, I was hoping for better. If you do stay here, get extra sheets and cover the livingroom furniture, it made it tolerable.
