Description: Newly located in the Renaissance Marketplace downtown, Cuba's Cookin' has moved with the times just as when Fidel began his march on Havana in 1959. This is what Havana would have looked & felt like.... and when the live music starts up nightly....this is exactly what you would have heard & seen back then. A moment in history brought out in Cuba's food, mojitos, art, culture and dance. A real authentic dinning experience you will take home forever from your trip to Aruba.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

I could go on at length, but this is one of our favorite restaurants in Aruba. We went a few days ago and we are going back tonight. Excellent food, excellent staff.

“Great atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

We loved Cuba's Cooking. We had dinners twice & went back for dessert. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. There was live music that was very good. The atmosphere was relaxing.

“Close but not quite”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2014

Went for a late lunch and perhaps that was part of the problem.

First, the food. Ordered a simple Cuban sandwich. The pork was good but the bread was not correct. I've eaten Cuban sandwiches all over south Florida. This was average at best.

The service. Maybe we were there at shift change. We had our order taken by one server and we never saw her again. We then saw a number of others who did their best to get us our order in a haphazard way. I can't say it was bad, but not organized and we needed to call attention to our needs, like more water and an extra bit of mayo. So while we were not ignored, it just wasn't proactive.

“Amazing, Authentic Cuban Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014

Oh my gosh. We went back to this restaurant three times during our five days in Aruba. It is sooo good. If you go for lunch, they give you a coupon to come back for lunch or dinner and get a free mojito per entree. Their mojito's are to die for, but watch out because they make them strong!
The sweet plantains are so good. My husband is Cuban and he said that they're almost as good as his mother makes them. The black beans were really good to me, but he said they weren't quite what he was expecting. However, good Cuban black beans need to be simmered and cooked for days, so in a restaurant setting that might be hard to accomplish.
I had the garlic shrimp for one meal, the grouper wrap for a lunch, and the Ropa Vieja for another meal. It was all sooo delicious. The grouper wrap seems like it'd just be a pretty basic fish wrap, but it had delicious fresh vegetables, and whatever they marinated the grouper in was just amazing. I would go back to Aruba just to eat at Cuba's Cookin again!

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

We had lunch here and it was mediocre at best. It was our least favourite dining experience of our trip. I had a salad with coconut shrimp and a cocktail. The coconut was absent, the shrimps were small and over all, the salad was underwhelming. The cocktail was fine, nothing special. My daughter had a wrap and was not impressed. I can't recommend and I wouldn't go back.
