“Good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

Our last day in Aruba found our cupboards bare so we walked to Matthew's for breakfast. My husband got oatmeal and enjoyed it while I got 2 pancakes which were very good. I had ordered them with strawberries but the waitress came out and said they didn't have strawberries. So I asked for the blueberries instead. They were not very good, just defrosted and shriveled up. I liked that you got a carafe of coffee. We enjoyed the seating right on the beach.

“Great breakfast and lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014 via mobile

We had breakfast and lunch here several times while staying at Aruba Beach Club next door. Great breakfast and lunch, and wonderful, friendly service. The rare ahi tuna salad was terrific.

“All the ribs you can eat...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

Went here two years in a row for all the ribs you can eat. Both occasions ribs were excellent and there was absolutely no need for a second helping! It is a fine establishment for families with small children and a great spot to see the sunset on the beach from your table. Hostess was the best getting us a table on a crowded evening and our wait staff was also very accommodating.

“Coconut shrimp to die for!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

My husband and I travel to Aruba at least once a year, by cruise ship stop or we stay on Palm Beach. This year we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and wanted a special spot to have dinner. We stopped at a few "ocean view" restaurants and looked at the menus and opted to eat at Matthew's Beachside. When we saw that the menu had "specials" on different evenings, we decided to eat there the night before our anniversary as well. On Thursday night, (Italian night) we both had the Chicken Parmesan which was HUGE! Since we are cutting down on our carbs, we had salad in place of our pasta which was good. We also were treated to Tiramisu which was offered complimentary, because of Italian night. Oh, by the way, we arrived at 5:45pm (fifteen minutes before Happy Hour was over), so were could get two for one drink prices. :) With reservations at 6pm, you can watch the sunset! The next evening, my hubby ordered pizza, which was great and I had the coconut shrimp, which looked like it must have been on steroids! They were gigantic and delicious! Our wonderful waitress also surprised us with a lovely dessert with a shooting flame thing in it to honor our special night...it was awesome! I can't wait for out next trip to Aruba...Matthews will definitely be seeing us again!!!

“Average food, great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

Our first trip to Matthew's was better than expected with great food and great service. Our second visit left a lot to be desired. On that visit, they were our of the two items we came for, our steak was completely undercooked and upon asking to cook it more, it came back out burnt and at the end of our meal. Since they took the whole dish along with the sides, our companion had nothing to eat but bread. Our waitress was sweet and apologetic but I don't think we'd give Matthew's a 3rd try.
