If you want to gallop or canter, you're in luck. If you have any horse experience, you will love these horses. Unlike most old-jalopy trail horses, these guys want to go! And they are smooth as silk. I read somewhere that the horses on the island are descendants of the ones ridden by the Spanish Conquistadores. I think they are called Pasos Finos? Anyway, it is one sweet ride. I have ridden at another ranch on Aruba, with the same good horses. The advantage of this ranch is its location. It's in the national park. You ride to the Natural Pool and you can swim, if conditions permit. This way you kill two tourist attractions with one stone--the ride and the pool.
I am far from a talented horsewoman, but these horses give me false confidence. They are that good! I tell all my friends, if you're ever in Aruba, go for a horseback ride. Gallop on the beach!
ps Our guides offered us water after the ride. I would ask them to bring some bottled water along for the ride, if I were you. I got thirsty.
