My Husband and I visited Aruba whilst in port on a Princess Cruise, and during our stay spent half a day at De Palm Island. We paid $75 each for this including coach transfer from the port, which is quite steep for 4-5 hours although having said this we still had a great time. Included in this price is ferry transfer to the island, food and drink, banana boat rides, snorkelling tours and equipment and sun loungers. Lockers, underwater helmet walk, Snuba and massages are all extra cost. On the island is a small water park, with slides which is good for kids (big and small!)
The food at the help yourself buffet restaurant didn’t look brilliant, with flies around and the food cabinets not having been shut to protect the food. Because of this we had food from the burger bar, chicken nuggets and chips which was fine. All drinks are free so if you are a big drinker I suppose you can make some of your $75 back.
Snorkelling was ok with various fish around although this is by far not the best place we’ve been snorkelling. The snorkelling tour is basically following two lifeguards out further than the swimming area, there is no narrative or info given by them and to be honest you see more fish in the shallower waters near the rocks. You can buy fish food in the shop.
Nice place with good activities, but overpriced at $75 each (which is about £46).
