If you are an Avid Shopper or like to Party All Night this is not the place for you.
If you like having choices, be as active as you want in a festive environment, enjoy doing nothing in a laid back setting, get up as late or early as you want, this is the place for you.
My wife and I were welcomed guests the first week in November 2008.
We arrived at the airport in the afternoon the temperature was a pleasant 78 degree F. When we exited the terminal there was a desk where we requested a Taxi. The bill is in triplicate, they keep the original, give a copy to the driver, any you get a copy stating the price of $28.00 to the Verandah. We later learned the Government sets the price, but does not necessarily enforce it. They recommend you establish the price BEFORE you enter the Taxi. The ride takes about 30 minutes, on some rough roads and would be a hard place to drive because nothing is marked. Some of the Taxi divers talk some don’t. The one going to the Verandah didn’t say anything, the one going to the Airport didn’t stop and gave us a lot if information about the different islands.
When we arrived at the Verandah they made us feel welcomed. My wife was not feeling well and they made a special effort to speed the process and get us to our Suite as soon as possible. It seems like all the employees strive to make your stay something special.

Our Waterfront Suite was a part of a duplex as are all of the units on the property. It is wonderful to have units that are so quite. At times it seemed like you are on our your own island.

The Resort is 30 acre and they make use of it all. The grounds are a sight to see by themselves. It seems like there is a different look every time you turn around. It is almost like you are in the jungle with roads.

There is a price you have to pay for all this area you have access to. That price is the distance you have to cover from your suite to all the different things you want to do. A tram is provided and usually makes a pass every 15 minutes. From the Check in area to the main area is a 7-minute ride if they don’t make many stops. You can walk every place but you had better be in good shape because it is all uphill or downhill.
The next morning we had breakfast at the Seabreeze restaurant. This is an American and European style buffet with cereal, fresh fruit, fresh juice, eggs cooked to order, pancakes, French toast, cooked meats, deli style meats and cheeses, etc. Coffee, Tea, and water are served at the table.
There are three restaurants in the main area.
The Seabreeze serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with many choices available. Some of the food was good and some of it was not to our taste but we could always find something we liked. This restaurant is open air with fans.
The Bucanneer is a sit down restaurant with good menu. You must make a reservation up to 48 hours in advance. It was closed on Wednesday.

Nicole’s is their fine dining air-conditioned restaurant with full menu. There is an additional charge of $25.00 per person even if you are on the AI plan. Again make reservation up to 48 hours in advance. We didn’t pay attention to the fact you could make reservation 48 hours in advance so we were never able to eat there because it was always fully booked 24 hours in advance. They are closed on Thursdays.
There are two pools and two beaches. The main pool is large and used by everyone. It is close to the main bar, restaurants, welcome center, and the main beach is only a short walk away. This is the area we used because it was close to our Suite.

The other pool is for adults only. It is smaller and close to the other beach. If your Suite’s location were on that end of the property this would be the best pool to use. The tennis courts are also located in that area. If you are traveling with children make sure they assign you a Suite close to the main pool area. I am sure they will do this because they are always such a great help with any problem.
The main beach is down a couple of flights of stars. They are not steep but could be slick. They have sailboats, peddle boats, floats, and kayaks for use in the ocean. They also furnish life jackets. The Beach Bar and Grill is on the way to the beach. This is the closest place to the beach to get a drink.

There are Local Groups that entertain every night.
There is a gym for use in the Main Area building.
The video quality will be poor because you must compress them to get under the 100 meg limit.
Add on.
When you get to the Airport to leave make sure to pay your departure tax, $20.00, BEFORE you get in line to clear security.
