We had a wonderful stay at the holel. michael the manager was 'one of the best' he arranged everything for us, was thoughtfull, and if sometimes other more noisey guests (after too many drinks) we 'loud' he would very poiletly 'ADVISE a lowering of the desibels.
Most or the guests were in favor of the 'low key approarch' to some guests who thought they had something to prove.

Overall it was the best Island Hotel I and my wife have stayed at, we are comming back with the the whole family next year, to this relaxed Hotel, freindly service, MICHAEL (without this man it would not be the same place) and the lovely surroundings of this ammazing place.

It is wonderful.........................try IT..you will not be disapointed

If what you are looking for is a picture perfect landscape, with stunning rooms, great food, friendliest staff in the world and a general commitment to make sure that you come back from your holiday rested and relaxed, than there is no place better than Hermitage Bay. I highly recommend the hillside cottages, with their private pools, stunning views of the beach, ocean and sunset, very luxurious bathrooms and an incredible outdoor shower looking onto the ocean but secluded from the view of any other room, an incredible deck with cushions and chairs where you can relax, read, sleep either looking out on the ocean or getting your privacy by drawing flowing white curtains that envelope the space.

The beach and ocean are fantastic, almost private and very beautiful, with white sand, the sea line littered with beautiful shells, and amazing water.

Food is great, choice is very good and the chef is always happy to accomodate any requests. You can eat whatever you like, whenever you like and wherever you like. The whole idea is that you don't have any pressure, stress relating to set time limits, bills to settle after every drink you order (to make sure you don't have to think about anything, all the food and drinks are included in the price - no hidden charges, we ate and drank copiously every day and were not charged an extra penny at the end of our stay).

The place is extremely quiet and relaxing, so if you are looking for fun and a buzz, than this is not the place for you. but if you want to spend some quality time with someone, read, relax, find complete peace and come back from holiday a new man, than Hermiateg Bay is not just an option, it's a must.

And supervising this paradise is Michael, a very personable, warm and attentive manager who ensures that your stay is absolutely flawless and he takes great pride in his work. For example, our flight back was at night and in theory we were meant to check-out at 1PM. Without even having to ask we were told that we could "obviously" (yeah, tell all the other hotels in the world!) keep our rooms until our departure and not to worry about the food and drinks because obviously we were welcome to have dinner and drinks like any other day at no extra cost.

We just spent 7 days at hermitage bay for our Honeymoon. It's a fantastic hotel , the suites amazing and pure luxury . But I have to say there are a lot of things which let our stay down. We booked a Hillside cottage simply because of the picture on the website. We wanted a sea view. When we were taken to our room we realised that we got the lowest down hillside suite which might as well of been on the raod behind the beach suites. . I was very upset as we had spent 6 months dreaming of the view. We requested to be moved and was told by reception that the reservations manager would talk to us in the morning . That morning came and went . the next day we had to say it again and we were told somone would speak to us. that never happened . I think for a 5 star resort like this to ignore a complaint was very bad. The thing that made it worse was that we spoke to 2 other couples who had better hillside suites than us which they had gotten by not paying for but a FREE upgrade from a beach suite. We were paying for it and never got it.
The room without the view was amazing. The plunge pool excellent . The other thing is that if you are looking for SILENCE than this is the place for you. Literally people don't even talk. My husbund felt so uncomfortable at times he had to whisper . The food is good but not 5 star. You are miles from anything and the hotel doesn't even offer a free shuttle . They will make you pay for any extras. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it but for me it was to quiet, I felt they favoured guests and the Hotel Manager was one of the rudest men I have ever met, Micheal was his name. He would give his staff crap right in front of the hotel guests and even one night was so worked up ignored us and we were the only people in the bar. The resort is dead by 10.00pm . So if you are like me and like the entertainment to go on a little longer and not so much quiet then don't go. If your looking for a Retreat like resort than this is the place for you.
In a nutshell , lovely resort, ok food, rude manager, very little water sports, very quiet. If you want to spend your time in your room then go to hermitage bay .

We stayed in the Hillside Room. Great View, Great amenities. Loved the outdoor Shower. Only drawback the whole trip was the incredible noisy generators that they use at night for electricity to save energy costs. They squeal so loud that you have to use earphones or leave the TV on all night. That was very bothersome when you just want to sleep.
The food was very good. The service was great. Michael was very helpful. The pancakes for breakfast were wonderful. Beach activities are not great, but the water is beautiful. If you stay in a hillside room, be sure to bring good shoes because it is a long hike UP to your room. Coming down is not too bad, but the walk home after meals is not easy. Overall, the staff was cordial and we got what we paid for. No hidden surprises, ( except for that damn generator).

  • Liked — Views, Different food, staff
  • Disliked — Loud noise at night, generators to run the place

This is simply the best place we have stayed. The food is terrific, the wine very drinkable as is the champagne. Especially recommended the Kobe beef burger for lunch. The service just right not too formal not too informal. The cottage, beach front no. 11, very spacious and well serviced. The beach and pool are both well supplied with loungers no need to save with a towel unlike some places. The beach service is good no sooner are you sat down than an ice bucket with two bottles of cool water appear as well as any other drink you require. Devon at the beach sports is great try one of the romantic picnics, he takes you to a deserted beach with a picnic and leaves you complete with a sunshade. No noisy disco but good relaxed entertainment on at least five nights of our visit.Airport pick up and drop off excellent too.
Try Elis Extreme circum- navigation trip it's best to book online before you go.
Any questions please ask.
