“Conch Fritters!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Spent the day at a beach (beautiful by the way) and when back in town decided on eating at Hemingway's. We like conch fritters and it was the perfect stop - served with a nice chili sauce they were great. Second floor open air seating was fun as well. Don't forget your Wadadli beer!

“First time was better”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

Second time visiting this spot. Owner friendly and helpful. Food was okay. Had the conch fritters and shrimp salad. Fritters was a bit doughy for me. I would skip this dish.

“Authentic, with good tailored service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

This was the only place that my wife and I ate out in during our stay in Antigua in 2013 (As we were on an all inclusive @ Blue Waters) - and what a good choice we made.

The food was great (I have never seen cockles that big).

The staff/ owner could see that we wanted a bit of privacy (We were escaping our 6 month old for the night) and left us to it but we had a great conversation with her at the end of the night.

We sat on the balcony which we loved. Not the best view but you see a little of the local night goings on.

“The Most Inspiring Restaurant in Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

This family run downtown St. John's restaurant offers the best food in town.
The menu is extensive and consistent. They have kept the same kitchen staff for decades. The starters are so delicious I always feel compelled to order them all. The salt fish and crab cakes are a must but the conch fritters cannot be ignored.
The staff is delightful and the owners are always around supervising and offering advice.
The non-alcoholic fruit crushes are refreshing and delicious and the cocktails are to die for. All freshly made on the premises and very refreshing.
The location is perfect for after or before shopping. Most tables are on the veranda where the breeze offers a very nice break from the addictive but suffocating Caribbean sun.
They also have a take away menu very worthy of any visitor to the island.
Hemingway's is perfect in every sense. Most definitely a staple and my absolute favourite in all of Antigua.

“Good local food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

Truly sited in the middle of the action, Lovely food and great drinks all served by very helpful attentive staff. The veranda was a wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by, there was a breeze blowing, it was lovely. The food was spicy and the presentation was great. We went for lunch and then dinner the next night. Great Pina colada's and rum punches.
