We have just returned from a week at Jolly Harbour Villas. The resort is indeed very spread out especially on the North Finger where we were. However, the shuttle bus is reasonably good. We did consider hiring bikes, but felt that $12 a day was a bit expensive. It took us about 15 minutes to walk into the centre of the resort. We didn t find the restaurants expensive, but the currency is slaved to the US dollar, so we were lucky to be there when it is weak. The supermarket was very well stocked and it was hard to think of anything they didn t have. The villa itself was OK, except for the kitchen equipment. There was only 1 large stewpan,1 small saucepan and a frying pan. The cereal bowls were the tiniest I have ever seen. There were several things missing from the inventory, but no one seemed interested in replacing them. The worst moment was when we returned to the villa and found a rat in the kitchen. I reported this, but was not aware of any action being taken. We travelled around on the local buses, which were great fun, very cheap and very efficient. They don t run to a timetable, but leave as soon as they are full and the next one takes its place. Of the 2 beaches, we preferred the north one. It was much very quiet and there were no sellers. Overall, it was a value for money holiday and much cheaper than the resort hotel next door.
