We have just returned from a week at Jolly Harbour Villas. The resort is indeed very spread out especially on the North Finger where we were. However, the shuttle bus is reasonably good. We did consider hiring bikes, but felt that $12 a day was a bit expensive. It took us about 15 minutes to walk into the centre of the resort. We didn t find the restaurants expensive, but the currency is slaved to the US dollar, so we were lucky to be there when it is weak. The supermarket was very well stocked and it was hard to think of anything they didn t have. The villa itself was OK, except for the kitchen equipment. There was only 1 large stewpan,1 small saucepan and a frying pan. The cereal bowls were the tiniest I have ever seen. There were several things missing from the inventory, but no one seemed interested in replacing them. The worst moment was when we returned to the villa and found a rat in the kitchen. I reported this, but was not aware of any action being taken. We travelled around on the local buses, which were great fun, very cheap and very efficient. They don t run to a timetable, but leave as soon as they are full and the next one takes its place. Of the 2 beaches, we preferred the north one. It was much very quiet and there were no sellers. Overall, it was a value for money holiday and much cheaper than the resort hotel next door.

Don't hesitate to choose this terrific resort, if you like independant travel. The villas were spotless and had everything we needed. The beaches were terrific, as was the pool. Having the supermarket and pharmacy right there on site made self-catering a breeze. The place is beautiful, laid back and has several good restaurants. We would go back in a heartbeat! OUr only advice--rent a car!

Wow! It was everything I dreamed of! The grounds were beautiful, the people curteous and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. We really loved Antigua! On the plane ride there, we were thinking that maybe we had made a mistake by not booking Sandals because it seemed as though everyone we talked to was staying there and had the all-inclusive deal. The morning after we arrived, we went to an optional orientation where we booked our entire week's activities. In other words, we paid for these things up front to make out stay as all-inclusive as possible. We went on the Kokomo Kat catamaran, horseback riding on the beach, a Jeep island tour, the Jolly Roger pirate ship (soooo much fun!), and a sunset cruise. When we had to go to Sandals to board the pirate ship I was really glad that we stayed at Jolly Harbour. JH's beach was much bigger and prettier, plus we had some privacy. Don't get me wrong, we partied with lots of people, but we also had room to get away from the noise. It was a perfect paradise, and I'd recommend it to anyone!

We just returned from Jolly Harbour. Had the best Holiday ever. We travelled with 2 toddlers and had the most relaxing holiday ever. We had a two bedroom a/c villa which was great. Although probably would have been fine with just a ceiling fan!! We hired a golf buggy which was about ?120 for 9 days, but well worth it... although the walk was't far it was great for nipping back to villa during the day for milk and snacks etc .. Castaways on the beach was great for lunch and watching the sun go down. The whole complex was great with children..not a problem wherever we took them. You must go to Shirley Heights on Sunday..the kids loved the steel band!! The shop is fantastic sold everything you could possible need!

A very good resort in a super location, my wife and I really enjoyed the beach and local areas. ALL Staff friendly and extra helpful. Villas a bit worn and in need of refurbishing, but basically comfortable, pleasant gardens and outlook.

Jolly Divers operation is recommended for any level of diver, they are professional and fun people, who's knowledge of local dive sites gave me the best dives I have had in the last 6 years.

Peter.
