peaceful, quiet, tranquil...grand and royal.
reminded me of the golden age of grand hotels.
the breakers style...yet deserted. saw only about
five other guests our entire stay. renovated rooms
are nice. clean. happy, kind service. lots of security.
the beach and deep bay are georgeous. prettiest on
the island. rare to find such a protected bay, and to have it all by ourselves
for our honeymoon could not have been better?
yes, there is room for improvement, but the pool was super clean, though
no need to use with such a perfect sunset bay.
take ocean view...eighth floor. need more beach amenities...boats
and toys should be more accessible. a small investment would
return this hotel to a perfect five star resort.
close to the city of st. john too.

This hotel is badly maintained, it shows on the entrance, the asphalt of the tennis courts is all black covered in dust and it looks bad. The lights of the walkway to the hotel has been hobby replaced so there are no longer any covers. On the beach we met a desperate lady seeking other fun activities since while staying at the hotel who had discovered she was one of the very very few guests. Beach area is not kept clean. Showers near to beach has marks which looks like fungus.

Stayed at this hotel as part of a cricket tour. Despite both teams and officials staying at the hotel we found the hotel dirty, chaotic, lacking in top class facilities and what we had to pay for overpriced. The taxi fare into St Johns seemed to be added to the price of a round of drinks and meals at the hotel. Staff were not particularly helpful - no towels appeared when a shortage pointed out and you had to ask for the cheese on the beefburger despite it being itemised on the menu.

Bedrooms were ok even if the bathroom did not pass a more cursery inspection. Location admittedly idyllic but shame about the hotel. One star quality but five star prices!

This was suppose to be a superior hotel and there was nothing superior about it. The hotel had been closed for a number of months before opening to full capacity to accomodate people following the england cricket tour. In our room alone there was no t-making facilities, very poor furnishing, 2 plug sockets in room not working, jaccuzi in toilet (joke) hit and miss with water supply, only two doors on a three door wardrobe, no dustbin in bathroom, mirrors badley marked, taps in bathroom carroded, no hair dryer, no mini fridge, no entertainment, no casino. All these were advertised for hotel. The hotel had three resturants and 1 casino but only 2 resturants were available for use. Housekeeping staff not very good. one day our room was not made up and no new towels when I spoke to them they said our room was not on her roster to make up. We ended up making our own bed and changing towels, emptying bin. Most of bar and resturant staff very slow but very pleasent. This hotel was very expensive for room only and definately not worth the money. The best way to describe this hotel is 5* beach 2* hotel. Was not within walking distance of any resturants, banks or amenaties you had to use a taxi service. The best and only things going for this hotel was the beach and the gift shop.
