Recently returned from a week at this lovely little hotel. It is a special little place but perhaps not for everyone.
Located on the far end of beautiful Dickenson Bay it is in great contrast to the large all-inclusives that are prominent on this beach. Siboney is charming, intimate and above all totally filled with the most wonderful staff you could imagine. Starting at the top with the suave debonair and above all caring owner Tony Johnson you feel really welcome. The office ladies were wonderful to me and ever smiling through my many requests for calls to the states. The cleaning staff, Evelyn and Paulette were not only ever smiling and friendly but they kept everything immaculate. Mitch the septuagenarian driver was both my guide and protector. I wish all these special people could know how much I think of them.
I had a little 1 bedroom suite with a tiny kitchen on the top(third )floor. It was very comfortable and charmingly decorated. My only complaint was that only the bedroom had AC and I was there during an usually hot and humid time so my other rooms were quite warm, uncomfortably so in spite of the ceiling fan. This really is the only thing negative I can find to report.
There is an excellent restaurant adjacent to the hotel, right on the beach called Coconut Grove. The food was quite good and the service was given with the typically smiling Antiguan nature that I found everywhere. Similarly to what you find elsewhere in the Caribbean the prices were, however, quite high.
Siboney has a lovely refreshing swimming pool set in the midst of the most wonderful tropical garden. I often found myself to have the pool all to myself, a luxury.
I certainly would recommend the Siboney Beach to anyone looking for quiet friendly understated quality and supreme friendliness.
