“Simple but comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Doesn't have a city view, not on the beach or in a nice area but clean and comfortable. I had a standard room and could not sleep due to the noise in the area. I asked for another room and got upgraded to a deluxe room that was much better in a quieter location. The staff were friendly and helpful. This is really a basic, simple, no frills hotel that I recommend for short business trips only as it is right in the city. Antigua has lovely beaches so if you are going on vacation do choose a nice hotel on the beach.

So... Stayed at the. City View hotel in Antigua during a work trip. This is an inexpensive, no frills, no extras place located in the center of town near the cruise ship port. The negative - This area of town is run down, and dirty. There are no beaches within walking distance, The bed was kind of short, my feet almost hung off the end of the bed, and it took a while for the water to get warm in the shower. The upside was that the room was clean, the air conditioner worked well, and the check-in process was easy and professional. Would only recommend this hotel to someone who is just passing thru.

It has been a real pleasure for IWMC to plan and organize its Workshop at the City View Hotel in St. John’s, Antigua. The various collaborators of the hotel have all shown great professionalism and enthusiasm in their work . It was refreshing to deal with such a team who profoundly likes and is proud of what they accomplish on a daily basis. They have been and are quite an asset for their employer and I hope their work is highly appreciated.

How can IWMC say thank you for making us and the participants of our Caribbean Workshop feel so welcome every time we asked for assistance. For instance, your Administrator, Joel Stewart, would go out of his way to find a proper working solution to our very needs.

In fact, the warm hospitality of all Hotel collaborators , even those we met briefly, also made us feel at home. That is the reason why we truly enjoyed our short stay at the City View Hotel.

Please convey our appreciation to all those concerned whether they work at the Reception, Dining Room, etc., as well as those very nice and polite housekeepers.

Thank you, … and IWMC wishes you all a fruitful Year 2012.

Take good care.
Helene Lapointe
IWMC Executive Assistant

We were allocated to this Hotel by a Virgin cancelled flight. All I can say about this place is I was waiting for the camera's to appear and say "Got you". Upon arriving fellow passengers were arguing with the night porter who did not have a clue what he was doing and was not the least bit interested in us, upon him phoning the supervisor we were told he refused to come out.
Fellow passengers were coming back down to reception to ask for towels, light bulbs etc. My family were very distressed to be allocated a room No 217 that had the ceiling on the floor water comping in, the bed legs was broken and the mattress had all kinds of stains on it, no linen and a floor that had not seen a sweep for a long time. When we complained we were just laughed at. The ladies in the group were very upset, we did not know where we were, it was 2am local teenagers were hanging around and one was asleep in reception (i do have a photo to add at a later date). Another passenger left with us when we spent an hour phoning other hotels to find somewhere to stay and eventually another Hotel sent a taxi for us. We had no assistance from either Virgin or Thomas Cook, we felt totally isolated and alone in a foreign country.

I was here in dec. 2010 for two nights. This was my third stay in this place. It is very convienent to the shopping down town, where the ships come in. But it is not where to stay for beaches. The rooms are large and clean, but appeared to have been decorated many years ago. The resturaunt serves good food but is not always open. Sometimes you have to wait. Two of the loca Rotary International clubs meet here, one at noon and one at night. Internet service is touch and go. Sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't.

Room Tip: If you have a room on the street side it can get a little noisy.

Stayed there for 1 night. As most reviews state, the rooms are (very) big. Actually a bit too big. The distance from the bed to the flat screen TV is so big that you have to strain to see what's on. What I liked best about the hotel is it's very central location. You can walk right into town. What I liked second best is the very friendly staff. No complaint whatsoever. And the WIFI internet worked perfectly fine. The breakfast included in the price of the stay is very simple and could be a bit more exciting. But all in all, staying at this hotel is not too bad at all.

This was my second time staying at the Hotel.
The Hotel is more suited as a travelling for business purposes.
There is not much of a view from the Hotel, except for the roofs of near-by houses.
There isnt a pool, however there is a gym.
The food is tasty but not Great.
Room was clean, free WiFi and a Kitchenette, flat screen Tv witha small balcony.
When checking out, staff usually move a bit slow, so make sure you are never in a hurry.
The front desk is not always reliable on doing wake-up calls, so set your personal alarm.
But I would stay there again.
