My husband & I were married in the gazebo at Blue Waters on Aug 9. We stayed here from Aug 6-16. My in-laws were to come over on the same plane with us however their flight was delayed 4 hrs. Marina was extremely helpful in helping us find out what time they would be getting in & arranging a car to pick them up even though it was Carnival time. When my in-laws got up & experienced Blue Waters the next day, both said they want to go back despite the airlines & travel. My husband even said he wants to go back & he hates airlines due to all the lines & delays, etc. Cindi wsa excellent in co-ordinating the wedding & it was AWESOME!! I carried my gown on the plane in a garment bag with no problem. The ceremony itself was beautiful & my bouquet was gorgeous. I did the brides package at salon in morning & we got married at 4:30. Cahnged in my inlaws room (509) as it was on ground & much closer to gazebo. Pictures came out great, although I still haven't seen the ones on CD the photographer gave us yet. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Our room (110) was great, spacious, comfy kingsize bed and we had an amazing view from our balcony. Although beaches were small, they were never crowded & we opted for beaches every day, never went in pools. Food was very good, although lunch menu is very limited and Vyviens was inconsistent at times. They tend to overcook your meat downstairs so if you like something medium, order it rare. Carolyn at the Beach bar is terrific as is Lucia in Palms (I thinks she works in Vyviens also). Shirley Heights had great views but we ate back at the resort as food prices there were very expensive ($8.00 US for a hotdog). Most things, such as Nelsons Dockyard, are closed until November so ask before booking a tour. Went to straw market 1 day but didn't think it was great. Very crowded & expensive, not worth it. This was the most relaxing time I have ever had & I can't wait to go back. I'll post pix when our computer is working better. This resort is for a very relaxing time as there was not much in the way of entertainment at night, which was perfect for us. If you're young & looking for a party place, I'd probably recommend a resort in Mexico for that, but definitely not here.

We have just returned from 10 days at Blue Waters and had a great time. Accommodation was really nice, we went all inclusive and really enjoyed the food, we never got the opportunity to eat in Vivian's Restaurant because of the kids. Kids enjoyed the beach and the pool and seemed to be entertained throughout. We hired a car and visited Long Bay Beach an Sting Ray City, both which we all really enjoyed. We all would highly recommend Blue Waters great service, friendly staff, fab hotel. All in all a super holiday

First I have to say Thank You to all those that posted reviews prior to our trip. Your reviews made it very easy to choose Blue Waters. When we arrived to Blue Waters we were very pleased to find the hotel looks just like it does on the different websites. Upon our arrival and throughout our whole stay, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We were married at Blue Waters, and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Cindy was excellent, she is great at her job, and I would recommend anyone considering getting married at Blue Waters to do so. The gazebo was nicely decorated, our flowers were beautiful, the cake was pretty, and our pictures turned out amazing. We took the sunset cruise, which I would recommend, we had so much fun. Dinner at the Cove was very good and the service was perfect. Our hotel room was very clean, and the food was good. There are a few cats in the dining area, but if you do not feed them, they will not bother you. I found it very annoying to see people feeding the cats. I also would recommend taking an Island Tour. I would go back to Blue Waters in a heartbeat. I couldn't be more happy on the way our trip went.

  • Liked — It was quiet, and I was looking for a small hotel for our wedding/honeymoon
  • Disliked — People feeding the cats in the dining area, small children

My husband and I chose Blue Waters hotel for our May 10th wedding earlier this year and it far surpassed anything we were expecting. The grounds and accommodation were immaculate and staff ever eager to please. It really is a little piece of paradise and truely is as good as you read on these reviews.

Our wedding day was as perfect as anyone could wish for and we would highly reccommend it to any other couples considering it. We took family members and friends with us and they've not stopped raving about it since we got back some 3 months ago! Those that didn't make it have been kicking themselves ever since! Both sets of parents called it a perfectly magical day and we have to agree with them. For our special day we included a steel band and a sunset catamaran cruise for us and our guests and my husband and I will never forget dancing on the front of the boat under a caribbean sunset. Might I also add that the DVD and photos we included were also of excellent quality and so was our chocolate wedding cake!

NOW for the other part of our Antigua stay;
prior to going we were struggling to choose between Blue Waters and Galley Bay, so we decided to splash out on this once in a lifetime event and do both. At this point I should say that the deciding factor was the Blue Waters wedding gazebo location, we think its far superior and nicer than the location at Galley but in reality it all comes down to personal choice. So having had an amazing and wonderful 10 day stay at BW we transferred to Galley for our honeymoon.
The main differences between the two hotels are the size of the resorts, BW being compact and Galley being spread out and that BW takes children whereas Galley doesn't. However during our BW stay the only under 16 was a beautifully behaved baby of about 6 months.

I could let this review go on and on but I'll only get wistful about wanting to go back, so I'll let anyone reading this go and find out for themselves and just try to sum up:-
We went to Antigua and stayed at two different but wonderful and highly rated hotels. We had an amazing time and an unforgettable wedding day. However, in total honesty and without hesitation or needing a second thought, if you asked us which one we'd go back to, it would be Blue Waters.
