Stayed at Blue Waters at the start of July and this has to be the best hotel in the world.

After a long 8 hour flight from the UK and got into a taxi and took the short 20-25 min journey to the hotel. On our arrival we were greeted by the managers of the hotel where we were offered rum or fruit punch while we waited to be checked in. The hotel lobby is really nice and big and open with loads of ceiling fans.

The hotel it self is very modern and has 3 swimming pools to choose from.

We found that the hotel grounds were kept spotlessly clean with all the cleaning being done first thing in the morning while everybody apart from me was asleep.

The rooms we had 903 & 904 we very large with a good size balcony outside with good views looking out to the beach. The room had its own mini bar, which we could use and they were re-stocked every day apart from Sunday as the maids have a day off. The a/c kept our room nice and cool and a welcome relief when you have been out in the sun all day.

The beaches are secluded and nice and quiet with plenty of space to find a nice spot in the sun.

The buffet restaurant was nice with a wide range of food to choose from both breakfast, lunch and dinner and the staff were all fantastic always wore a smile and fast service too.

There is only two bad things about this hotel, one is that the TV in the room could be a little bigger and the other is the hotel is building some holiday homes next too the hotel but I didn't here any building work going on.

I am looking forward to coming again and already planning my next trip. Fantastic hotel, Best hotel in the world.

My friend and I have just returned from a very relaxing 4 nights at the Blue Waters.
We stayed in a delux beachfront room which although isnt on the beachfront is adequate and has great views over the resort and sea.The room was a good size and had a nice bathroom but its downside was the a/c which was ineffective. The flat screen tv was tiny also.
The pools and areas around were very well kept and spotlessly clean. Everything was surrounded by lovely flowers and well kept gardens although walking around there alot of steps. The beaches are lovely but very very small.
The buffet restaurant had hit and miss food choice.(alot of meat) the lunch was alot better than evening meal especially the a la carte menu.Unfortunatly the staff in there are terribly slow and not the happiest of souls. I think i am still waiting for most of the diet cokes i asked for, i went to the bar myself in the end most if the time.
The other restaurant Viviens was much better in service( once you get booked in that is, do this early.) However be care if you are on the all inclusive option, there are hefty supplements added to some of the dishes .ie steak and lamb this was as high as $22.00. Which we though was unusual for this standard of hotel.
Overall we had a great time but feel the staff could be a bit more interested in service and a smile.

  • Liked — very pretty resort, lovely pools, lunch !!
  • Disliked — slow staff in restaurant, evening meal food choice

Blue waters is a great resort. We stayed there for 4 nights and wished we could of stayed a lot longer. From the time we arrived at reception and were served a rum punch while we waited for the room keys we had a great time.
The room was spotless with a view of their beach and had the best bed and pillows we have had in a hotel for long time.
The food in the 2 restaurants was excellent, particularly Viviens, which is for adults only. The food here was high class and not overally expensive. The one surprise at Viviens was the free starter they served with great fanfare - one chicken nugget in cream sauce !!!
The resort sits on a beautiful white sandy beach which we used all the time even though they have 3 pools.
The hotel is very boutique with only 70 odd rooms which we appreciated.
The staff we all pleasant and helpful and arranged a rental car for us, which is recommended if you want to explore all the great beaches on the island. We can recommend the superb Turner's beach for a swim and lunch in their bar and grill on the beach.
Well done Blue Waters.

Just returned from a week a Blue Waters, We had a great time. The staff was great, good drinks, and the food was mostly Gourmet and nicely presented. I was surprised at the quality for the Caribbean since most stuff is imported. Upstairs at Vyviens (no kids which is nice for couples) is quiet an intimate with only 20 seats. Reserve in advance. (ask Suzie). I had the veal chop, which was as good as any I ever had. On the buffet downstairs was Ahi tuna, whole roast suckling pig, caribbean dishes, snapper, mahi, etc. There was even pasta for the younger ones. They do require long pants after 6pm, which was a little warm in the evening, but I think it added class to the place and the dining, The kids did not like it, but they survived.. Afternoon tea at 4:00 was a delight, with pastries etc. even for non-teatotlers like me.
The liquor was mostly top-shelf, and I had my Jack Daniels!
My only disappointment was the Marlin, but in all fairness, I have never had good Marlin in any restaurant. Its always tough.
When we originally booked, we did not get the all-inclusive, but upgraded when we got there. It was worth it. The town of St.John was ok, but it was a lot easier and great food at the Blue Waters restaurants.
The staff was great. Carolyn the bartender at the pool had some great blender drinks and was very sociable.
Check with Ivan, the porter, if you need to get connected with anything while you are there. He has the inside scoop.
We had 14 people in our party, and everyone had a good time.
We took Taxis as we wound up at the resort most of the time except when we went diving or fishing.
Diving in Antiqua is not world class, but it was fun. Most is 50ft, but its good for beginners. We had 8 divers in our party and some were relatively new. We went with Indigo, who were very professional and SAFE. The boat was nice and only takes up to 10.
Even for the experienced, it was nice, as we saw nurse, reef and blacktips, rays, eels, etc.
We also went fishing with Capt. Mike on the Vitamin-B. which was good, but it was not the best season for fishing. We still got some fish, but mostly barracuda. Sept-Nov. is better. Still, a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!
Its a 30 min cab ride to the dive/fishing boats at Jolly Harbour, the only drawback.
The town of St. John is interesting, but mostly souvenirs. A couple of hour is all we spent there. Some of the women in the "flea Mkt" section were a little agressive, but the Antiguans were all friendly.
The hotel is beautiful, rooms nice, and everything was working, except one of our rooms needed an air-conditioner recharged, which they did as soon as we told them.
They had nice caribbean music every night, including a steel band! Most hotels only do that on the weekend.
Beach and pools are nice, but there is nothing to see snorkeling off the beach as it is all sand. You need to travel to go snorkeling,
However, it is great for the litle catamarans, windsurfers and kayaks which a lot of our younger members took advantage of.
It was hot in June-July and a couple of days were humid, which took some getting used to, but it dropped later in the week. Only a brief shower but mostly dry and no rain. Antigua is fairly arid and not that tropical, but the hotel was very tropical and the grounds were beautiful.
We were checked in very efficiently and the bags handled well.
We were even given a cold towel, drinks, and fruit for our party while we were checking in! How great was that. I have never in all my travels had that before!.
The restaurant staff was good. We even could order off the snack menu when we missed lunch due to diving.
It is the Caribbean however, and things are not as fast as a NY city diner, but I did not expect that. It was still good, especially after a few days of winding down.
The spa was nice and my wife and son went for a great massage (I was fishing). They loved it. The pedicures were top-notch too!
Bugs were minimal, but my daughter did get some bites. I did not. The hotel sprays, but you might want to bring some.
I could probably go on, but I will leave some nice things for you to discover.
One of the best resorts I have been to! It was a little more expensive than some, but worth it and a good value in my opinion. Very accomodating!!! A 4.5-5 caribbean star in my opinion. The only down side was that I gained 3 pounds!
Regards,
Don, Pat, and crew!

We stayed at Bluewaters Jun 07 for my sister in laws wedding , there were 16 of us including three small children. We all had an excellent time and thought that the surroundings the hotel is in were really beautiful. The food and drink were absolutely lovely and although us with the small kids did'nt go to vvyiens restaurant the rest of our party said it was excellent. the staff were really friendly to us and especially the kids, although I do feel that some of the other guests would have preferred it if the children were'nt there!!! It was so hot while we were there the majority of the time we were in bed by 10pm because it tires you out so much, so we did'nt see much entertainment, but I think it was very low key , such as bands and singers. The pool area were kept very clean and the grounds tidy and neat, the grounds workers always seemed to be busy maintaining the gardens and they did a lovely job of decorating the wedding gazebo. Our room was in block 900 which was quite a way up on the hillside which was a bit of a pain with the pushchair , but at the end of the day that was what we had paid for and anyway it gave us a bit of exercise walking off all the delicious cocktails Treymayne and Carolyn made us at the beach bar!! I would definately return to this hotel but would pay a little extra for a suite or villa style accomodation on the resort which was closer to the main area and slighter larger for my childrens ever expanding suitcases!!!!
Highly recommended !!!and if you're reading this Cindy and John congratulations Mr and Mrs Butler-Hills!
