as a travel agent I use whats posted on trip advisor as help in choosing places I haven't personally seen for my clients. So I decided it was time to post my own review.

The Blue Waters was my first 3 night getaway since having a baby 5 months ago. It exceeded my expectations in terms of service and atmosphere.

The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly, helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. The food was wonderful we ate at both the Palms and Vyviannes.

Our room was spotless, anything we needed our maid was more than happy to provide.

I would say the only disappointment for some people would be that the beach is small, it is not a "walking" beach. However it is very clean and the water is cyrstal clear.

While I did not take my kids on this trip (this was a mommy getaway!) We did see several families with small children and they all seemed to really enjoy their stay. I don't know that children older than 5 might not get bored as there isn't a kids club and not much else to do besides play in the pool or on the beach.

We met several honeymoon couples that were loving their stay and we did witness one wedding while we were there. The wedding was beautiful.

I would highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting wonderful service, great accommodations and a relaxing, lowkey vacation.

Bluewaters was highly recommended by a friend who in her "e-mail" to me was" we couldn't fault it". It was our first visit to the Caribbean and we certainly will be returning. It is a beautifully secluded hotel with the right number of rooms, and all with a view. The servivce was excellent. The housekeepers even knocked on your door in the evening with the next day newsletter and an offer "to turn down the bed". Talk about feel spoiled. It was our 24th wedding anniversary while there so we had a champagne breakfast delivered to the room. There was good entertainment-no disco music thank goodness. If i was going to make a comment it would be that the beach was a little small to do any serious walking . There could have been a few more sun umbrellas on the beach as well but these last two comments are certainly an aside as Bluewaters has certainly got it "right" with regards quality, staff, food, drinks and service. Best to go all inclusive though.

  • Liked — less than 100 rooms
  • Disliked — beach rather small

We wanted to get married in the caribbean and after much searching and pondering we decided on Blue Waters. We could not have picked a better place. We arrived on 25/04/07 to be greeted with a very welcome cold towel and a very strong rum punch. We had booked a beachfront room but were delighted to be told that we were upgraded to Rock Cottage. We couldn't believe our luck, it was fantastic.
We were to be married on 30/04/07 and all our concerns disappeared after our meeting with the lovely Cindy, the wedding co-ordinator, who took care of everything. Our wedding was set in an idyllic location and everbody involved helped to make it absolutely perfect. The hotel only allows one wedding per day so you really do feel as though the day is yours.
The three pools are very clean as are the beaches but the one complaint we did have was that the management did not enforce the no reserving of sunbeds with towels rule even though there were signs everywhere, but this was the only moan we had in an otherwise perfect 2 weeks.
The staff were on the whole very friendly and helpful and the food was generally excellent in both retaurants (the tiger prawns and the lamb shank were to die for).
We went on 2 trips, the jeep safari and the catamaran cruise around the island and they showed us what abeautiful island Antigua is from both land and sea and Blue Waters is just a little corner of paradise on it.
We met some lovely people and had the wedding/honeymoon/holiday of a lifetime. Would we go back? Definately one day.

Just to say we had a brilliant time I think all the previous reports are pretty fair. We stayed there for 10 days in May 2007. We were very happy with the food in both restaurants as well as the service everyone was really helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We were on ‘AI’ package and therefore didn't look at the cost of food!! The staff were always happy and said Hi. If you go out for the day don’t forget to order a packed lunch at reception and ask for it in a cool bag - great again.

Our one comment would be the management don't seem to be as hot on the 'Dress Code' as we would have expected. It does say on all the literature I have seen including Blue Waters brochure, 'collared shirt and long trousers' but there were a number of occasions when we saw round neck tee shirts in the Palm for dinner and men wearing 3/4 length clown type trousers!! We did see people in jeans in both restaurants.

We did the Eco power boat trip with Eli Fuller and JD - great can highly recommend it, snorkelling with stingrays is something else. We went on to Le Sport on St Lucia for 7 days and it was good but not as good as BW! We didn’t find the staff as happily or friendly

We stayed at Blue Waters in April 2007 for two weeks for our honeymoon and it was worth every penny spent. The staff and the service was 5 star plus! Special mentions for Carolyn and Tramaine at the pool bar! We were located in block 100 and the view from our room was spectacular, especially nice whilst having a complimentary champagne breakfast! The 2 restaurants Palms and Viyveens are both fantastic quality and service and the menus changed frequently. We did venture up to the Cove restaurant (which is also part of Blue Waters but not part of the all inclusive plan) all I can say is it is worth the visit and you won't be disappointed with the fine dining experince! The entertainment on site in the evenings was varied from steel bands to singers and it was very much enjoyed by all ages. We hired a jeep for 2 days to see the Island and also went on the excellance boat trip, well worth doing and don't miss out on Shirley heights on a Sunday! If your looking for a taxi/tour then Louis taxi's is definetly recommended.
