First off, a little background on my wife and I so you can understand where we’re coming from. We’re 29 and 30 respectively. We travel a lot for business, so we’re constantly staying in different hotels. Since they’re business trips paid for by large companies, more often then not we’re put in 4-5 star hotels – Westins, Hiltons, Hyatts, etc.. So we’ve come to expect a lot in terms of service. We chose the Blue Waters because it was the 1st week of our honeymoon and we wanted that week to be more “relaxed”. The 2nd week was spent at a Sandals resort in St. Lucia.

Rooms
The room we got (room 511) was beachfront – but somewhat small. It was always clean, with a stocked fridge (although not as cold as I personally like my drinks). But they had ice available, so you can chill it down at any time.

Pools
The pools were wonderful, rarely are people swimming in them, not too cold. It’s perfect for a dip to relax from the hot sun. The hot tub was much to be desired. Why? It was the same temperature as the pool. Maybe it’s an Antiguan thing?

Food/Drinks
The food and drinks were amazing. 4-5 star quality compared to American restaurants. Our worst experience with food was breakfast in general, but it was still good.

Employees
I found the employees to be rather short and not very friendly. Maybe we’re paranoid, but we believe it had to due with the fact that we were younger than the average guest there (I’d guess the average age of guests there to be mid-50’s).

Spa
The spa was the one drawback to this place. My wife had a pedicure, and said she got a better pedicure at one of the Asian places she goes to in the United States – for 1/3 of the price too. I had a massage and the woman’s hands were rough and callous. We don’t recommend the spa.

Overall
Overall, this is a great resort to go to, unwind, relax, and enjoy good food. If you’re less than 40 years old and are American, you will be in the minority BIG TIME. I’d guess the average age of the guests were mid 50’s. Not really a problem if you’re just going to unwind – I just felt awkward at times when we were noticeably so much younger. All in all, a great resort.

Wow! is the only way to describe this resort. For the money the value is extraordinary. Don't cheap out. For a few dollars more this is one of the best places on the Island. Very private, unbelievable service and amenities with a relaxed intimate atmosphere. You may want to opt out of the all inclusive as there are a number of great restaurants nearby(by car or taxi) and as ther are only two places to eat (both very good) you may get a little bored. Either way this place is fabulous. All rooms are excellent though 2nd floors are more private. If you want a little more zesty nightlife the Colona Antigua/Waterfront are about 10 minutes away. They're pretty happening. But stay here! Good Luck.

My elder daughter and I visited Blue Waters in 2005 and had a great week. When it came to celebrating my birthday this year I did not hesitate to say that I wanted to go back to Blue Waters again. A great hotel and warm Carribbean sunshine in February - the perfect place! Along the way this plan was 'hijacked' by our younger daughter and partner deciding to come along, get married and celebrate her birthday. A party of two of us became a party of 11 and we had a ball! The staff looked after us so well, coping with one celebratory dinner after another. Edgar does deserve a special mention for coping so well with all of us!

It is a great hotel and its charm lies in its simplicity, its small size, which means you get to know the staff and they you, its friendliness and the beautiful gardens. The organisation of the wedding was excellent and we all had a wonderful and memorable day. For a stress free wedding in a lovely location it is hard to beat. We could not fault them although as Europeans we take a day or two to adjust to a slower pace of life - something we all need to do!

We shall be back for another chance to enjoy some warm Caribbean sunshine in a very special place. And please can we have a pico to sail next time!

My husband and I recently married in Antigua. We made the decision after the engagement to have a destination wedding to keep things simple and stress to a minimum. After much time researching and looking for the perfect place, we found it in Antigua. The Blue Waters Hotel was amazing. They took care of everything! Our wedding coordinator, Alicia, was first-class. She made our special day a day we will never forget. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves in the beautiful surroundings rather than having to concern ourselves in the planning aspect, which made our time even more special.

We had 13 friends and family members join us for the intimate ceremony. We became husband and wife under a gazebo surrounded on 3 sides by the most beautiful water you can imagine. After the ceremony, we all gathered for a reception at The Palms outdoor restaurant (at The Blue Waters Hotel) for dinner and dancing under the starlit sky. I would highly recommend anyone desiring a destination wedding to go to Blue Waters. You won't be sorry!

We experienced the delights Blue Waters for 2 weeks from 26th January 2007. We've been to some fantastic places, but nothing comes close to what we had at this wonderful hotel. The food, service, location and staff were second to none. We looked at many other places in Antigua, but opted for the what we thought was the write place for us and we were so right. We got married at Blue Waters on 2nd Feb and it was so easy going as our lovely wedding co-ordinator Alicia was fantactic she looked after all the planning from start to finish with no problem at all. Taking any stress out of the wedding, Alicia was very professional in arranging everythink from a trip to St John's to register the marriage all the way througth to the end of the ceremoney. The staff were also fanfastic especially Carolyn, mixing the best drinks you have every drunk, such a lovely bubbly lady, makes you laugh and SMILE all day long. Lovely food' not your normal all in deal, quite something else. Vyvien's was the best ever and service to match.
