We were immediately impressed by the greeting we received upon arrival at the resort. Overall, the service was phenomenal. The staff was very friendly and accommodating arranging taxi service, coordinating fishing expedition, etc.

We did not participate in the all-inclusive plan as we prefer a variety of different locales in which to dine. As such, we found it difficult to gain access to food and beverage unless it was within certain timeframes. For instance lunch is only served until 2:30pm.. as late eaters we had difficult adhering to these parameters.

My boyfriend was reprimanded for wearing very nice shorts in the open-air Pelican Bar early one evening. We always felt like we had to watch our attire no matter how appropriate and nice compared to others.

One of the highlights of the trip was our experience at The Cove Restaurant, opened by the owners of Blue Waters. The decor truly suited us and Yves was a fabulous host. He was always extremely gracious and always very accommodating. Kudos and thanks to Yves!

All in all a great trip .. its hard to be disappointed in such a beautiful place with great company!

We have just returned from our second visit to Blue Waters, St. Johns Antigua.

We decided to return as we desperately needed a complete 10 day rest. Somwhere where we could just eat, sleep, drink and read read read. As before we were not dissapointed. The food was excellent the wine plentiful and service second to none. All the staff were so polite and friendly and you really have a feeling of belonging to a very happy family. Particular mention as always to darling Carolyn who remembered us from the previous year and for Jolie's never ending patience on reception.

Best mention of all goes to the wonderful girls in the Spa. I built up a very good relationship with them all and will keep in touch often.

It seems unfair to single out staff at the Blue Waters Resort as each and everyone of them deserve to win employee of the month at some point in time.

I sit here writing this dreaming of our next visit - and there will certainly be a next visit.

We received a beautiful basket of fruit and champagne as it was our second visit. A champagne breakfast as it was our wedding anniversary and a free bottle of champagne left in our room because we donated our Telegraph to the Manager!

In answer to the guest who complained that the food was expensive and drinks etc. I would say you must always go fully inclusive, this is excellent value for money and the food and drink is plentiful with no limits.

We cannot fault Blue Waters - roll-on next April when we will return for the 3rd time.

We love you all.

We have just returned from our 10 day holiday at Blue Waters and feel lucky to have picked such a lovely, relaxing hotel for our first trip to the Caribbean. The hotel is spotlessly clean with friendly staff, well-tended grounds and in a beautiful location.
If you're idea of a good holiday is lively entertainment evenings, then don't go here. On the other hand if you prefer evenings sipping cocktails chatting to newly made friends, whilst the steel band plays in the background, then you can do no better than Blue Waters.
Our party included teenagers and a child but they were never bored, finding new friends to either play alongside in the pools or 'hang out' in the games room. The teenagers even set up a game of pool volleyball and invited other younger children to join them, letting the shorter ones sit on their shoulders.
At the time of going the guests were predominantly British, with a few Americans. There was also a mix of families and couples, all got along splendidly.
A special mention must go to Carolyn (who works in the pool bar), she always had a smile and greeting for everyone. Her capacity to remember everybody's names and favourite drinks was amazing.
Whether on the beach or lying by the pools, the bar staff look after everyone, bringing around cups of water and asking if you required drinks at regular intervals.
The hotel beach has soft sand, raked smooth (by the staff) every morning. Although beaches are public in Antigua, this beach is only accessible by water or through the hotel grounds, meaning there are no problems with beach traders. There is a small beach shop, at which you can buy t-shirts, necklaces or have your hair braided and occasionally the Widadli Catamaran guy will drop by and try to persuade you to join his tours. However, all that is needed is a polite refusal, and you are left in peace. However, (contrary to another report) we did find the sea to be too cloudy with sand to snorkle successfully but whether this was due to conditions or not, I cannot say. The pelicans still seemed able to spot fish even when we couldn't.
A word of warning - despite the hotel regularly using a machine to smoke under the bushes in the evening, mosquitoes are as rife here as the rest of the island. Take strong spray and even then still keep your guard.

15 minutes from St.John airport, Blue Waters is situated on Soldiers Bay in the North of Antigua.

The hotel is of a very high standard. At check-in, the very friendly staff offer you fruit punch and from that point on, you know you are on to a winner!

The hotel really feels like a piece of paradise. The beaches are beautiful - very well maintained with plenty of sunloungers and shade. There are some great watersports (we tried kayaking and the pedallo's) - all of which are free.

There are two private beaches and then a third tiny 'alcove' beach with about 2 loungers on it (perfect for honeymooners!). The sand is soft, and the water is very clear. There are also 3 swimming pools: one near the bar, a beautiful larger one near the beach and beach bar and a third for adults only (which was a little disappointing).

The room was great. Part of our honeymoon package meant that we were upgraded to a beachfront room. It was idyllic with views over the sea and the beautiful landscaped gardens. We stayed in block 400 which was lovely. It was very close to the restaurant and bar, which at night had quite a loud band until 11pm.

The only slight disappointment was the food. Although of a resonable standard, it was expensive at around $50 per person for an evening meal (2 courses / no alcohol). Even room service was on the pricey side. We found that trips to restaurants in the local area were more fun and proved better value for money (even including the taxi fare).

Overall, we had a wonderful honeymoon at Blue Waters. It's a beautiful hotel with incredibly friendly staff. Top tip for Antigua: remember to take lots of mosquito spray!

I feel anybody writing a bad review about this hotel must be a very sad, boring person & dont appreciate the fine things in life, we stayed and got married there early march, weather was excellent, accomodation was a deluxe beachfront with a fantastic view over the sea, what a lovely way to wake up! sound of the waves to send you to sleep at night was very relaxing, how can anyone moan at that!?! food was really good, we were all inclusive so the drinks were flowing, ther was no waiting for drinks, how you treat the staff is how you get treated back, just be polite, the minute we sat down the drinks were in front of us, we got married there, the wedding was super, Cindy just took over& did a fantastic job, beautiful setting under the gazebo, steel band was a bonus, lovely sound, photos were excellent with a super album, video was wonderful too, better than we expected, we had lots of photos taken on the beach with the sunset, didn't want the day to end, we had a meal in vyviens after for 8 of us & they couldn't do enough for us, especially Gary & Wyngrove. We had a great champagne breakfast brought up to us on the following morning after the wedding with everything you could want, excellent!! Grounds are beautiful, well kept, sea was crystal clear, staff was friendly & helpful, just cant wait to go back & be spoilt, if anyone wants anymore answers about the hotel feel free to e-mail, ENJOY IT, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED....
