After a long search of Wedding Hotels in the Caribbean we settled on Blue Waters after reading many of the fantastic reviews that had been posted on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. We arrived at Blue Waters as a party of 17 booked in for a ten day stay. There had been a mix up of what room had been booked for us and as the wedding couple we were meant to have been allocated a Deluxe Room but the Hotel had no details of this and said that we would have to stay in the standard room and that no Deluxe Rooms were available as the hotel was fully booked. We were extremely disappointed and it wasnt the start to our holiday that we were expecting. The Hotel would have to wait until the Offices of Virgin Holidays opened in England to sort out the problem. After a long discussion with the Hotel they did sort out the Deluxe Room for us and they would deal with Virgin the next day. Our holiday could now eventually start.

Blue Waters is a beautiful Hotel with all the facilities you could expect for a 4.5* Hotel. The grounds are well kept, the food is wonderful and plenty of choice for even the pickiest eater!! The Beaches are lovely and although not that big they were never overcrowded in the slightest together with three swimming pools ! The Staff are truly one of a kind and have never met such helpful and hardworking people. Nothing is too much for them and they went well beyond the call of duty during our stay.

the rooms of the Hotel are well kept and are very spacious especially the standard rooms which although dont have a direct view of the sea are larger than the Deluxe Rooms.

We met with the Virgin Rep who came to see us to apologise for the mix up at the start of the Holiday and said she would sort something out with the Hotel but we didnt think anything further of it but on the second day we had a note left for us from the Hotel asking if we would like to view Rock Cottage (which is a Cottage situated at the far end of the resort and is out of this world) and stay there for the rest of our stay. We couldnt beleive our luck as we had tried to book Rock Cottage for our Wedding night back in England but we hadnt been successful. We were given sole use of the Cottage together with the pool and we were asked if we would also like our Wedding to take place there too which we said we would and the Hotel then made all the necessary arrangements for us.

Our Wedding Day was absolutely perfect and having it at Rock Cottage made it even more perfect. The setting was absolutely stunning and they decorated it so beautifully. We had a private bbq on the terrace and so the Wedding for us was completely private which is what we had wanted more than anything.

All in all a truly magical 10 days spent in Antigua and everyone in our party had a fantastic time and if you are thinking of getting married in Blue Waters then i can promise you that you wont be disappointed at all. The Hotel has everything you require from water sports to tennis, a gym, evening entertainment, fab food and drink, great staff, lovely beaches, good accommodation - i could keep going! If you do read any negative reviews then these people must be so fussy and not happy with anything !!

I would give Blue Waters Hotel 10 out of 10 everytime !!!

After a long flight we finally arrived at Blue Waters and boy did we relax as soon as we stepped foot in the hotel....now we had read some reviews about this place and some were negative regarding the staff, ok they might be a little slow, but hey youre in the carribean, its not supposed to be rushed!! We found them above all really friendly and happy! We did experience our first earthquake, which was certainly shocking!

But above all we stayed here for 2 weeks and would certainly do it again!!!

We spent 2 wonderful weeks holidaying at Blue Waters Hotel mid-January.
This was our first time to Antigua although we visited many Caribbean
islands before. The airport was a little bit of a hassle due to the many flights arriving at the same time but once at the resort we forgot how tired we were from the flight. First impression is very good, from the elegant lobby you can see the turquoise water in the bay down below... how nice after leaving cold temperature and bad weather!
We were very warmly welcomed by Ivan one of the bellhops and the Dep. Manager Martina, they both made us feel comfortable as soon as we stepped out of the taxi and throughout the check-in process which was one of the most relaxing check-ins we ever experienced and we truly enjoyed our fresh rum punch.
Our room was well appointed with a nice oceanview; Sheila our room attendant ,took care of our room beautifully and always had a nice word for us. What a nice lady.
The food was truly delightful, many compliments to the Chef and crew, we had wonderful meals at Vyvien’s, Palms and the Cove although we expected slightly more from the Cove.
The grounds around the resorts are well kept and the beach area although not large is very nice and has a private feel to it.
We just have a couple of minor negative comments: the service by Watersports could have been more constant and friendlier, we had the impression on more than one occasion that we were interrupting; the restaurant staff is mostly helpful with some unfortunate excpetion. Managment was constantly visible and the Dep. Manager’s personalized call to our room twice during our stay was a nice touch.
We would certainly consider returning to Blue Waters Hotel and maybe even choose to stay at the Cove Suites which were newly opened.

We have just returned from Blue Waters and had a fantastic week. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, rum punch and a cold towel were given to us on arrival. Our bags were taken directly to our room whilst we were given a short tour of the hotel.

The hotel room was clean and tidy with air con and a celling fan. We had a patio with 2 comfortable chairs a glass table and sun lounger.

We were very impressed by the hotel and surroundings which are beautiful, with 3 pools, 2 bars and the lovely beach it was hard to fault.

We had a lesson from one of the guys for the hobie Kat for an hours tuition which we paid for($35.00) and then after we had mastered the art of sailing you could go out any time on your own free of charge. The other watersports were also free.

The food for dinner was very good and all waiter service apart from 2 nights when we had a bbq one night and a buffet on another. There was also a good selection of food and lots of fresh fish.

Breakfast was plentiful, cereal, bacon, eggs, pancakes, fruit, pastries, bagels, muffins, french toast, fruit juice and omlettes.

We hired a Wrangler Jeep one day and went round the Island which is only about 100 square miles. We had a great day and would recommend this as you can stop at many unspoilt beaches and see the real Antigua. Nelson's Dockyard and Half Moon Bay are a must see. We also went to Shirley Heights on Sunday night which was arranged by the hotel which was good. there was a steel band, drinks and a BBQ where you can watch the sun go down.

Generally the people of Antigua are very friendly and make you feel very welcome.

The hotel itself was hard to fault we found the staff happy, helpful and obviously pride themselves with good customer service.

We would highly recommend this hotel and don't understand the negative comments on some other reviews.

We have just returned from Blue Waters and stayed over the New Year period as a family including 17 and 19 year old daughters.

We had a great stay. The staff are welcoming and tried very hard to make sure that you enjoy your stay.

Our beachfront communicating rooms were comfortable and clean, it was great to hear the waves of the beach at night.

We were on an inclusive package including food and drinks (make sure you drink the house wines which are fine, other wines are charged extra).

The A-la-Carte restaurant (Vivian's) is quite good but a little stuffy, we ate their on our first night then stuck to the Palm Restaurant which is less formal and more airy and has a lower age profile, and was fine.

If there was any "but", it would have been nice to have an allowance to use the more upmarket Cove restaurant which forms part of the hotel for one or two special meals.

There are three bars offering a range of drinks and excellent cocktails, service was great.

The hotel is in an attractive setting and benefits from an easy transfer from the airport. I would thoroughly recommend Virgin Atlantic who's bag collection service gave us an extra day on the beach.

I don't normally report back on hotels, but some of the reviews on this site made me approach our stay with some trepidation, fortunately these fears were not realised.

I would thoroughly recommend the Blue Waters for a laid back, comfortable and relaxing beach holiday, particularly for families, since it is very child friendly. I would not recommend it for couples with expectations of gourmet food (unless you are prepared to pay extra for the Cove).

Final tip, if you are going to Shirley Heights on a Sunday night, suggest that you either book into the hotel for a late meal, or eat at Shirley Heights, since things didn't really get going there until 7.00 plus a 40 minute taxi.
