“Great Service,Great Beach,Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

I just got home July 6 th 2013
A very personable staff every one of them. My room 512 fantastic. Very easy to over eat their. Great warm pastry's and great cake. The BQ chick and ribs and bottled beer up the hill really cool thanks Mary. Snack Bar great fry's, hamburgers, and good hotdogs. Gourmet Restaurant excellent
The bar beer should be better.
Good place to bring a few friends , other wise not to much mingling going on.
Entertainment was good, just not much participation by the customers.
Married crowd, Middle age family's.
Very Romantic for the newly weds.
They did 2 weddings when I was there and that was first rate, fantastic spots, check it out.
If your old school and like to smoke around the bar and get ripped its not that kind
of place.
But if you want service ,big beach , waves, on the reef snorkeling, good food all the time.
The people that work there, they work long hours and make you feel special, so treat them well they deserve it.
The whole resort is a Botanical Gardens. When they upgrade the rest of the older rooms this will be a 4.5 to 5 star.
I talked to a lot of people and they come back all the time because its what they want and you get everything you need.
You go their swim and swim ,sun bath, read, eat great, have a few drinks, get up and do it again. And great breezes.
So you can make it to suit you.
Take 360 tour by boat, and ride through the rain forest and jolly beach area paradise man.
And don't forget to make friends.
Larry from Canada

Room Tip: Upper floors have vaulted ceilings. Cliff side, Beach front and Ocean View are the newest.

We recently returned from Grand Pineapple Hotel. We previously stayed at this hotel approximately 3 years ago. We had expected the hotel to be brought up to date as Sandals had taken it over. There was very little improvement. The staff are brilliant and really go out of their way to make you feel at home, but the whole hotel needs a lot of attention.

The hotel was not full when we stayed and as a result there was only the main restaurant open every evening and The Grill opened several evening each week. Breakfast was good, lunch is a buffet and dinner in the main restaurant is mainly buffet. The Grill is a la carte, but be careful when eating there and ask for a table on the left of the entrance as in this section the air conditioning keeps it nice and cool. When sitting at the tables to the right of the entrance it is very warm and gets very uncomfortable. The hotel states 4 restaurants, but one of these is The Rib Shack, which is very very basic and different. It is up on the hill open for lunch and you help yourself to BBQ ribs, chicken, salad, beer and soda drinks.

This hotel is a little basic and is certainly not at the same standard a other Sandals hotels, albeit the cost of staying here is considerably less. In the Garden rooms there is no fridge, but if you upgrade, all the rooms have fridges. If you just want to sit on the beach, or play games organised by the staff and you are not expecting to be served with dinner then you will then enjoy your stay.

The hotel is rather isolated and there is nowhere to go outside of the hotel. The beach is lovely, but to get anyway you must use a taxi. We organised our own transfers from the airport to the hotel and it cost approx. £20 each way. The rates seem to be fixed and it is very easy to get a taxi at the stand directly opposite the exit from the airport.

Room Tip: The Ocean View rooms are much larger than Garden Rooms. They have wonderful views out to sea, but...

We have returned from the GP and have to agree with the review made by fgo496. The hotel is basic and the food was not upto expectations. When they state that they have four restaurants or does not expect to sit in the same dining room and just have a name change and still get chicken.

On another matter, there is a beautiful black female puppy who is also pregnant. We have been feeding her and making sure that she gets water and we have asked other guests to take care of her and do the same. So please, if you see her, make sure that she gets fresh water and at least one feed per day. The security guards have been throwing stones at her but stopped when they saw the look of horror on our faces. This little dog is so cute and friendly, she doesn't beg and sits and waits, so we think she has been abandoned. Please be kind and pass this request on to other guests and keep this going on trip advisor. Her life is in Your hands. Thank you

Well I'm here now and I'm extremely hard to please , but do book to come here, it's been one of the best experiences of my life, firstly the AMAZING STAFF in this hotel need recognition.
They are the best, the hotel is not 5 star and not 5 star prices so don't expect that, but the staff are 5 STAR and the nicest people that want you to have a great holiday.
The Hotel setting is perfect, not commercialised like a lot, gardens are beautifully kept.
We love all the food and drinks, fresh homemade cakes, pastries and biscuits lovely!
The trips booked from the hotel are very well organised , and exceptional.
I will be sad to leave these lovely very hard working people of Pineapple and Antigua.
It's a beautiful island
I will come back
It's been a Dream experience.

Tenth visit
And loved every Minute as usual was looked after by all the staff thanks Ruthlyn for a speedy check in and our warm welcome from barbara and Alvin who went above and beyond what we would expect . The room was clean and had everything we needed for our two week stay as others have said Mary's is the most relaxing place to have lunch the views are amazing as is the food and Joanne & Mary . We have found the food much better than resent years and I'm a fussy eater but I was never hungry Sergia we are missing your food . Yes there are birds at breakfast but not a problem just cover your drinks if you leave the table they are amusing to watch .the only negative was the evening entertainment we loved the fire eater but most nights was Not good we did enjoy going up to where they grow the herbs & veg near the tennis courts we also went to stringray city all I will say is amazing will never forget that day . The beach is lovely and the sea clear and warm also would like to thank Courtney the general manager for always being approachable and friendly .a special mention to sanjay who even after finishing a hard day at work found us to have a chat before she left for home .it is the staff that always draws us back they are like family to us and are already planning to go back next year fun people to mention jules Sasha Kerry Sonia kevin dale see you soon guys

Room Tip: We had a beach front room our favourite

The hotel is very tired in need of a re-furb very basic, the food is same most nights chicken you can only eat so much chicken. Also there are birds of all types flying around the dining area eating peoples food when they have left their table briefly, its amusing at first but it soon becomes a nuisance. My drink was spiked at the hotel bar you dont really expect this kind of incident on a Sandals holiday which you have paid thousands for, this as you can imagine made me very ill and completely ruined the holiday i stayed in the apartment for 3 days following this,so be aware around the bar area there is only one by the way.Nothing really positive to say about the place i know i would never go back thats for sure, the staff are nice though i will end on a positive.

We regret to hear that we did not meet quite your expectations for service and quality. We have many guests who feel the direct opposite and have boasted of our accommodations. However, as hoteliers we realize that there is always room for improvement and feedback is crucial in this process so we thank you for your review.

We are always looking for ways to improve our resort to exceed the expectations of our clients. Since we are in a constant state of evolving our resorts and updating our amenities, I will be sure to send your feedback to the General Manager and relevant departments.

Kind Regards,
Cassie C.

We stayed at the GP for 7 nights at the beginning of June, we wish we were still there. We cannot wait to come back to the hotel and spend longer at this fantastic resort.
All staff members are friendly and polite, all hotel guests are friendly and polite. We made some friends for life on this holiday.
Shonette behind the bar is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and she makes the cocktails beautifully. Wesley on the beach sorted us out with some amazing trips. You must must do the stingray trip, it is awesome. Do be aware that the circumnavigation trip around the island can be a bit rough in the Atlantic!!
We had an ocean view room in the 900's and loved it, your own balcony looking over the resort & sea is beautiful, we asked for a fridge and it arrived and that was very useful. The room was always clean and the housekeeping lady was lovely. The shop has some lovely gifts and handy essentials. The food is great, we especially loved the breakfasts, the birds add to the feel of the place and staff do tell you to cover your food and drink if you leave the table. The pineapple grill restaurant serves some lovely tuna steak. Mary's outhouse has amazing BBQ food and you will have great fun watching the cats & mongoose & reading all the signs, you will also spend your holiday looking for something to write on to pin up there!!
The beach is awesome and at one end there is a reef and we highly recommend snorkelling as there are some incredible fish there & we saw a huge lobster.
The resort is fabulous, we do not have a negative thing to say. Our holiday was perfect, great place, great friends made. We have major holiday blues!
