Well our initial plans were to stay at The Catamaran Hotel for 3 nights. That turned into a week, then flowed into 2 weeks and then into 3 wonderful weeks. One of the first things the Hotel Manager said to me was that they treat their guests like family. Well that certainly was the case. We thoroughly enjoyed Antigua. The location of our hotel is definitely located in the best part of the island, close to fabulous restaurants and beaches. We recommend renting a car from Bigs Rental and explore the island. Both my husband and I said we could have easily stayed another week. We can't say enough about the island and the people. Also something worth noting, we looked into the other hotels/resorts on the island and knew we definitely made the right choice.

if you are looking for a very clean room with a kitchen and your own deck with a great view of the harbor and a beach with a store and food nearby ..... and with the greatest people who keep it in great shape....with velma, her daughter josie and of course the always presant bailys this is the only place to stay for a good price the cat club will always be #1 IN MY HEART.

A wonderful little hotel right on the beach. Great views and very friendly service. Feona and her staff go the extra mile.

If you are looking for a huge chain with all the bells and whistles the Catamaran is not for you. If however you are looking for a charming place with real personal service and a taste of the real Antigua then you will be very very happy here.

I am not a big fan of the big beach hotels and took this place on recommendation. It is a self catering hotel with very comfortable rooms. There is a supermarket 5 mins walk away that stocks everything you need. I liked the fact that you could sit on the beach 2 mins walk away from a small marina and a bar called Jimmys that all the locals go to.

It is a holiday for people who want a bit of independence and peace and a taste of Carribean life. The main attractions are in english harbour 5 mins away and the best and most lively restaurants especially Abracadabra.

Feona who owns the place is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble...don't miss her Thursday night barbecue during the season!.

All the staff have been there for an eternity and it is run like a big family.

There is plenty to do with the kids and I would recommend a days fishing on a boat called Obsession in the Marina I had a trip of a lifetime and caught a 550Ib Blue Marlin!.

The only downside is that it doesn't have a pool but the water is literally outside your bedroom window.

I have been back twice to the hotel and would thoroughly recommend a visit if you want an antidote to Sandals!!
