We stayed at Antigua village as part of our timeshare options with RCI. Antigua village itself is not a resort but instead a kind of hotel of condos.

I'll start by saying that Antigua is the most wonderful Carribean country we have ever visited (we have been too many)! The people are good-natured, funny and not at all pushy. Really genuine! You can tell that tourism is not their number one industry as they aren't polished as the Bahamas for example, and we loved that because you really feel like you are experience a new culture! And I have to mention they know how to have fun!

Quick recap:

Rooms: Definetely dated. They are maintained by the condo owners and many are in need of a refresh. All rooms we saw were clean so that wasn't an issue... Just a little old. A full kitchen is in the room with all needed cookware and serveware.

Food: There is a fantastic grocery store only 10 minutes from Antigua Village, the Epicurean. They carry many US and Canadian brands and we bought a lot of food that we were used to buying at home. That was a nice comfort. The fruit and meat/fish at the Epicurean were some of the freshest we had ever tasted. We were hesitant at first to buy raw meat and eggs but we were so glad we did. What a difference it makes in taste when there aren't a ton of preservatives!

Restaurants: Fantastic! We were shocked at the quality of the restaurants in Antigua. We are big time foodies and we were fully satisfied with every restaurant we tried from sushi to French. We highly recommend Le Bistro (unbelievably delicious) and Papa Zouk (amazing atmosphere). These two restaurants are MUSTS! There are many other great restaurants too many to name.

Beach: The beach is small but well maintained and quite quiet which was nice. We were happy with it.

Excursions: Miguel's Holiday Adventure at Turtle Island!!! You have to do it! A day of fun, sun, snorkelling (if you want) and great food and drinks. Miguel is the sweetest man and his son that is now manager of the tour is just wonderful and funny! You can't go worng for approx $60 this is well worth every penny and more. Our best excursion ever.

Weather: We weren't so lucky in this area. Lots of rain which is unusual for Antigua but I guess that's what you get in mid October. It didn't put a damper on things for us as there was plenty of other things to do.

If you have a chance to get to Antigua - GO!! We don't particularly recommend this resort (it certainly isn't bad though) what we really recommend in the island of Antigua - Pure Paradise!

This was our second stay at Antigua Village. It is a condo community, not a hotel. We stayed in a studio apartment, which was perfect for a couple. The decorations were simple, but the place was clean and well maintained. It was by no means luxury accomodations, but that wasn't what we were seeking.

The village is immaculate. The grounds are very well kept. The pool is clean and appeared newly resurfaced. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The village is bordered on each side by good restaurants, The Beach and Coconut Grove. They are right on the water, have great atmospheres, and serve excellent food.

Antigua Village is on Dickenson Bay, which is a very pretty beach. It is a short walk down the sand from Sandals. The beach can be very busy, between the Sandals crowd and people delivered by taxi from cruise ships when they're in port.

All in all, if you are looking for a nice, clean room on a great beach near excellent restaurants (in paradise), we certainly recommend Antigua Village.

I should add that we stayed at the Village via SkyAuction, so we paid far less than the stated nightly rate listed on the village website. I would not be as happy had we paid $300-400 a night to stay here. Again, it's not luxury accomodations.

Antigua Village is very conveniently located on Dickenson Bay. The beach is beautiful, and plenty of lounge chairs are provided. There are palapas for shade.
We had a 1 BR villa - it was on the 2nd and 3rd floors of our building. The bedroom and bathroom were upstairs, the kitchen, living room, and 2 balconies were downstairs. While the furnishings weren't new, they were clean and comfortable. And the unit was very spacious.
The staff was very pleasant, as were all of the native Antiguans we encountered.
The two restaurant/beach bars at the edge of the property were very good. We especially liked the Coconut Grove.
There was a get acquainted party by the pool on Monday evening - drinks and food were provided. It was very nice.
There was daily maid service - the charge was $20 for the week. There is also a charge of $6 a day for each day you use the air conditioner. It was well worth it!
There are some very polite vendors on the beach, and a fruit lady has a truck in the parking lot. Great fresh produce.

We just returned from a wonderful week at the Antigua Village. We stayed here through our time share and it was definitely a great trade. The resort is a bit dated and could use refurbishing BUT its clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. At first, I was not sure if the A/C was working but give it some time and it cools the room down. We were told of the high prices for food in Antigua and this was true. Most dinners cost about $100 a couple but everything we had was well worth it. On either side of the Antigua Village is Coconut Grove, our favorite and The Beach where we had the most amazing desert...The Pineapple Rum Tower! Other great restaurants to try are The Bay House ask for Table 10 the view is worth it. Hemingway's and George's both in St. John's. We chartered Tiami Catamaran one day and it was the most relaxing time and great snorkeling. When in St. John's stop by Jojo's Cafe for great ice coffee. Bring bug spray and lotion because they will bite you! I was a bit disappointed that there was not a gym on the property but you can swim laps or run along the beach which really was just as good if not better. All and all I can't say enough good things about Antigua and our stay at The Antigua Village.

This was our first visit to Antigua and we loved it. The weather was extremely hot but the almost constant breeze was good.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom timeshare villa which was extremely large compared to some we've stayed in. The decor could do with a bit of TLC but we were told this was being addressed in the near future. Apart from a washing machine and dishwasher it had everything you need. The maid service was every day when towels and bedlinen were changed as well as the usual cleaning, including floors washed. There was AC and ceiling fans as well as bathrobes, good quality toiletries and beach towels. The staff were also very friendly.

The gardens are wonderful. They are full of exotic flowers and shrubs and such a variety of fruit trees as we've ever seen anywhere. A small but nice pool with nice comfy sunbeds is in one area. Dickenson Bay is a large and lovely beach. To the north are Sandals and Rex Halcyon Cove Hotels where the beach is busy although still with lots of room. To the south it is almost deserted. The water is warm although it had many jelly fish.

Two restaurants, The Beach and Coconut Grove, are beside the resort. This is good as there are no buses in this area so taxis have to be taken which can add to the cost of eating out or going anywhere else on the island. We had a super relaxing two weeks and would return.
