My husband, 2 children and I stayed at Halcyon Cove for 8 nights from February 21-March 2 and had a blast. We were disappointed in our room upon arrival-leaky air-conditioner and toilet. We stuck it out for one night, then insisted on being moved the next day. We were not only moved, but upgraded, and found the poolside room perfect. The property definitely needs an overhaul. Halcyon Cove is not the Ritz, but it's fine for what you pay. The food is all buffet and not gourmet, but is adequate and certainly varied enough for any appetite. (The french toast is outstanding!!) The staff (with a few exceptions and where don't you find that?) were very pleasant and helpful. My kids (6 and 8) made so many friends and were thrilled with the resort. These are pretty well travelled kids, but this was their first experience with an all-inclusive and they don't want to do anything but now. All the guests were friendly and we felt like family before we left. My kids loved the kids club and especially Hyacinth who runs it. It's pretty basic arts and crafts, but they wanted to go everyday. All in all I would recommend this property for families who aren't expecting luxury and realize they are getting a great deal!
