i was very nervous about our trip due to all the bad comments on this site however i had a lovely stay. As soon as we got there they upgraded us to a superior room for free. The beach is lovely and right on your doorstep.
You must seek out Thomas on the beach who sells coconuts for 5 dollars filled with rum they are delicious.
All the staff we met were really friendly and went out of there way for us. I would say that if you are looking for standards like the sandals this trip is not for you purely because the place is a little run down,it is kept really clean though. The only problem we found was that there is only one bar open at one time and not enough staff to deal with the queues.
I would recommend the food especially the breakfast at the terrace resturant in the hotel as the staff we exceptionally friendly and prompt. Do not bother with spending your money going for a meal on the warri pier as they are slow and impolite. We asked for a few things that were not delivered to our table i.e drinks which ruined our romanic evening only went once!!
If you like animals the dolphin sanctuary just literally at the end of the beach is a must. They are beautiful dont be worried about wondering in as the staff are really friendly. Book horse riding if you can through virgin holidays as the one that the hotel recommends is a little scary. The one through virgin at least you get proper saddles and friendly guides who will enjoying telling you about the island.
To sum the hotel up,although it could do with a bit of a makeover it was clean and comfortable and had lots of staff trying to make your stay pleasurable.
Antigua is a relaxing and beautiful place to visit and i would love to go back in the near future.
