Let me just start with this comment . . . some people just can't be pleased. Don't let the other reviews turn you away. We didn't have any problems with mosquitos, we loved the food, and our suite was wonderful!

We were looking for a relaxing vacation to celebrate our 15th anniversary, and I am so happy we chose Jumby. The beach is beautiful--clear water, lots of sun, not crowded at all, and starfish in the water at your feet--beautiful. I spent hours reading in a hammock, under the palm trees, with a cool breeze--so relaxing-- or sunning on the white sand beach. The delicious tropical drinks are available right there on the beach and a waiter comes by often with bottled water.

Our room was wonderful. I loved all of it. The bathtub outside was one of my favorites, and the bath soaps, bath salts, and lotion smelled wonderful.

The food was great. We ordered our breakfast to be delivered to our room several mornings. This added to the relaxation of the trip. Sitting outside in the morning, gorgeous view, and wonderful coffee--kicked back reading the newspaper. Late morning or afternoon, we spent time snorkeling, sun-bathing, riding bikes all over the island, or just sleeping under the cabana.

The evening was not fast-paced or action packed, but we were not looking for that. The evening dining was elegant, and the food was delicious. It was a wonderful evening stroll to the restaurant--romantic, cool breeze, torch-lit path. We only got a ride on the golf cart once because we loved the romantic walk. You felt like you were the only ones on the island since you rarely ran into other guests.

Bottom line--if you want to spend time with your spouse or significant other, Jumby Bay is the place to go. My husband and I had a great time and love the atmosphere of elegance, serenity, and romance that Jumby Bay offers.

My husband and I have just returned from a week at Jumby Bay. We have not been there for 2 years. There have been many improvements and the hotel is just wonderful. We were delighted that the staff remembered out names. It has a friendly atmosphere. The profusion of tropical flowers is astonishing. The swimming pool is surrounded by plants and bushes. Our room was very nice-pretty 4-poster bed, large bathroom, good beach view. We found the breakfast and lunch to be the best meals. The buffets are bountiful. Dinner at the Estate House or the Verandah is quite good. Jumby Bay is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Enjoy!

My wife and I just returned from Jumby Bay. We were at the property for a belated honeymoon from 2/5 to 2/12. All but the last night were spent in a rondavel room. The rondavel was beautiful. All furnishings were fantastic and the outside shower simply great. The air conditioner worked very well (we only used it at night); however, it was a little loud. Perhaps if we reported the issue it would have been fixed to run quieter. With respect to food, it was magnificent in nearly every manner. Breakfast and lunch at the Veranda were great. The quantity and quality could not be better. Dinner at the Estate House was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. The menu caters to English (i.e., bland) tastes and is heavy on red meats. We were surprised that more fresh fish were not on the evening menu. The beach is very pretty. With that being said, Antigua is not the most beautiful of islands and the view from the beach, while nice, is not breathtaking. Complaints from other reviewers in respect of air traffic are, in our opinion, unfounded. Drinks were strong, tasty, and readily available. Service at all of the meals and at the beach was reasonably prompt. We had no complaints; those who complain about service response are simply unrealistic --- you are in the islands, after all! A day trip to Pasture Beach is a must. We spent the entire day by ourselves and the picnic lunch provided by the resort was tasty and promptly delivered by a smiling employee. We were able to witness a daytime hatching of turtle eggs, a very rare event. For out last night we moved to a "one bedroom suite". This move was arranged prior to our arrival; our late booking caused our initial room to be unavailable for the last night. The suite was located in our same rondavel building. It was essentially the same room with another sitting room attached. The sitting room, while pretty, was useless as the airconditioner did not work in that room. Also, there was no hot water for the outside shower. We did not report these items, as it was our last night. However, we do not feel that the extra expense would warrant staying in a one bedroom suite even if everything was functioning. All in all, we loved the resort. The staff always greet you by name and with a smile. Food and drink were plentiful, very tasty, and served with care. The facilities are well-kept; landscaping is beautiful. If, however, you are looking for a party crowd, this is not the place. Most of the guests are over 50. Shopping in St. John's is simply junk, nothing more. Also, as mentioned above, the resort does cater to English tastes. Additionally, there were some very minor details that were not attended to: e.g., requests for stocking the room with preferred libations. Again, we did not follow up, if we did, I am certain that our requests would have been taken care of eventually. If you are considering this resort, we would say "go for it".

I've been in a lot of caribbean top hotels but, this one is simply great ,particularly the service.
I stayed in a two bedroom villa with pool twice and incredibly the second experience has been greater than the fantastic first one.

We were at Jumby Bay a few years ago and we loved it then and thought it could not get any better. We were wrong - it was even better than last time. We always stay at upper level hotels and we feel Jumby Bay Resort is right up there on the top of our list!!

From the moment you arrive at the airport, the short boat ride to the island and the greeting rep on the dock - it is all first class.
Since it is now a Rosewood Hotel there have been improvements (we didn't think it needed any improving last time- it's hard to improve on perfection!), such as the landscaping is very lush now & the rooms are gorgeous.

All the staff is extremely courteous - they cannot do enough to make your stay perfect. Once you arrive, everyone knows your name and greets you whenever they see you. This includes the staff in both dining rooms, the bar, the hotel shop, etc.

The beach is unbelievable, as is the setting.

We stayed in a Pond Bay Oceanview room & it was beautiful. They thought of everything-champagne, orchids in the room, big fluffy towels, candles.

The food is wonderful - for all meals. You can have the buffet (which is expansive) for breakfast & lunch and/or order from their very large menu. Dinnner is served at the Estate House (which is a fabulous setting and very elegant) and the food there is also wonderful.

I can't stop raving about Jumby Bay and am counting the days until we will be going there again!!!
