On the 22nd of July 2004 a very true and fair complaint was posted on this site. We had the same experience but with more problems. I would love to have contact with the complainer since we are very happy people and not demanding travellers but have seen what there is for sale around the world and the prices related to it. This was no paradise. If your looking for paradise I have many suggestions for you. Paradise is not defined by snob appeal of other guests but by the way staff know how to interact proffesionaly with guest without being stiff. No way Jumby Bay! is our slagan these days and we have had a great vacation since that awfull experience for slightly more in price but incredibble more SERVICE or should I say incredibble SERVICE compared to NO service at all. For now we have closed this file - the Hotel would not comment to us concerning our complaint - and are very happily moving on towards a same vacation in the same great resort that we experienced this great vacation! Honeymooners you only go on honeymoon once choose the right place!

I have been reading and judging these reviews from November of 2003, I just got back on 8/7/04 we spend there 4 nights. (way to little) I have been planning a very special and unique vacation as a surprise for my wife on our 10th anniversary. According to her and I (we are both tough critics) it is an amazing place. First of all the food is amazing and the selection is wonderful. The service could not be better, they know there jobs and that is to make you feel welcome and comfortable with every request being met. The rooms were amazing just like pictured. Yes it is not a Four Seasons or a Ritz or for that matter another RoseWood Property, but that is what make this place so different. There are no keys, no cars, no discos, it is like stepping back in time. I thought I was going to miss the tv was I wrong. Did not even use the beautiful tv room once. I could go on for days giving wonderful reviews. As we were there we saw a coulple that complained about the ac the food and the bikes. Please be aware that this is a very rustic resort if you want to be pampered and relax (by the way the best massages we have ever gotten not even in a Ritz , the Bellagio or any Mandarin Hotel) this is the place. The beach was gorgeous if you do not want to see the planes or the hillsides of Antiqua just go to the nature beach. Once again you will LOVE IT! Last but not least, I asked room service to prepare the room after turn down so it could like nice and romantic. They laid flowers on the bed, the floor inside and out our room, the pillows and even the bathroom with music and candles going. Incredible and no charge.

Jumby Bay was truly paradise on earth. MY wife and I recently returned from our honeymoon--we spent 8 days/7 nights in an oceanview courtyard suite with an indoor/outdoor shower. The room was amazing and the twice daily room service kept everything in order--including the stocked mini-bar. Every night, the staff would light candles and put soft music on the cd player--what a nice thing to have in your room at the end of a long, restful day.

The service was top notch and the restaurants were definitely first class. The staff was there to please--they even provided us with a bottle of champagne to take back to our room. We can't say enough about how good the food was at every meal. Even if something wasn't on the menu, the chef was willing and able to prepare whatever our hearts desired.

As in other reviews, do not pass up the opportunity to have a picnic on pasture beach. a beautiful beach with private hammocks and wonderful surf. Also, do not miss the snorkeling trip to nearby Bird Island--an amazing experience. My wife and I also had the opportunity to see giant hawksbill sea turtles laying eggs on Pasture Beach on two consecutive nights--another amazing experience.

All that being said, the best part about Jumby Bay is that it is pure relaxation! The beach is pristine and the staff is ever present to give you sorbet or the drink of your choice. I can't emphasize enough how attentive the staff was--they never forgot our names and they were prepared to help us with everything.

While in Jumby Bay make sure you avail yourself of some in-room massages too. Truly first-rate!

Overall, Jumby Bay was a marvelous experience. Some negative reviews speak of construction noise and/or airplane noise. No matter where you are on Antigua, you could be subjected to airplane noise depending on their landing/takeoff routes. My wife and I only noticed the airplane noise on one or two occassions. As for the construction noise, it was nonexistent!

Jumby Bay is a wonderful resort--my wife and I have never been so relaxed, so pampered and so amazed! We are looking forward to going back to Jumby Bay again!

If you have a complaint about Jumby Bay then you will never be happy anywhere. There is nothing to complain about, no downside, nothing.

It is a first class top of the line resort and nothing in the area comes close. A bit pricey but DEFINATELY well worth it. I just got back from my honeymoon and my wife & I will definitely return. The food, staff, accommodations, beach, and all activities available are outstanding. You are waited on hand and foot, the food is the best in the Caribbean and there is plenty of choices to select from. If your looking for nightlife and partying this is not the place for you. Jumby Bay is for those who want to sit back and relax in peace and quiet enjoy the finest foods and be pampered.

We had the unique opportunity of staying in 2 different rooms. Both were excellent and it was hard to choose which was better. If I had to really choose I would get the suite with the indoor/outdoor shower. That was real nice treat. I definitely recommend the picnic on Pasture Beach, that beach is gorgeous and deserted. You are lucky to see 3 people there all day.

This place is paradise and we the opportunity to share the resort with a few famous NFL and NBA athletes. All in all this was the absolute best vacation we ever had and I highly recommend anyone visiting the Caribbean to pass up every other resort and head to Jumby Bay.
