Public areas were all okay, the bedrooms however and the service of front desk staff was just shocking. There were only 6 of us there at any one time in August - peak summer months.

My credit card was also cloned here and I can only assume this was from the carbon copy they took at check-in.

Staff lovely - such a shame their talents are wasted here.

Situated in an incredibly remote location now probably taken over by the new Verrandah resort on the opposite bank, I bet the baby pelicans have found somewhere else to dive and eat.

Lovely pool area with nice secluded beach, only one member of staff paid it any attention, the main guy just slept in his hut all day. Sail boats all rotting and covered in sand - such a shame, as a little money and TLC could transform it.

Just to say that the Dian Bay Spa is now closed until further notice.

I stayed here in August and had a lovely time athough there were only between 6 to 8 people in the hotel at any one time. We had the beaches to ourselves, our own bar staff, and Shamantha the waitress was great.

But the biggest problem we had was the lack of investment in the property, the towels and sheets were very worn and much washed, the staff were de motivated. We had actually gone there to learn to sail but found there were no sail boats to do this with! there was a heap at the back of the beach of old sailboats.

The rats running around the dining room and bar area were a cause for concern as were the occasional cockroachs when it had rained a lot which it did after the hurricane.

But for all of that we were made to feel welcome and had a wonderful time.

I am sorry to see it close but It really needed to one the Verandah had opened.

I will NOT be back to this resort! The staff was the best part of the entire resort, they were really nice. But the accommodations that the hotel listed were not offered. It was supposed to be an all-inclusive resort, but they had no buffets, the portions were very small. Breakfast and lunch was the same each day, and dinner was so little that if you wanted more to eat, you had to pay extra. The bar ran out of the house liquor all the time--which was included, but the top shelf liquor was available but at a price, not included in AI. They even charged us for a bottle of water. The picture of the beach is very deceiving...it is SO small. I would recommend Antigua but go to a different resort...stay at the Jolly Beach resort or the Grand Pineapple. They are much better!

My daughter and I just returned from a 1 week stay at this resort. The staff was courteous but it often took a few requests to get something done. It seems airline crews have booked many upstairs rooms for the next two months so if you have a first floor room, you can expect to be awakened both late at night and early in the morning by these crew members. I did not find this consistent with my vacation plans! Within 2 days we were able to move to an upstairs, ocean view room which was much better. The condition of the stairway and balcony led me to believe it was a room not used often. We were much happier there, though and could sleep and wake to our own schedule. The food was repetitive and usually cool, instead of hot. The service was slow but pleasant. The soups were outstanding each time we had them. Rumors flew that the property was closing for renovation, staff shared concerns about their future. Boats were broken, various advertised services and foods were not available but the pools were clean most days, the bay/sea was lovely, weather fantastic. The plumbing broke one day and there was little hot water most mornings. All in all, we relaxed but if we had short fuses they would have been lit! High point - nearby local restaurant "Mamma Pastas" Fantastic. Barbara/Heather from New York
