I have been to this hotel last year and my visit this time definitely did not disappoint.

I received the same very personal welcome-the staff all acknowledged me as a repeat guest and check in was as comfortable and quick as I remembered it.

Travelling by myself,I might have been a little wary of drinking and eating by myself -but from the start of the day to the end,I could not have been made to feel more welcome.Benn on the beach always had a friendly word for me,and we had a chat on more than one occasion.Juney in the Pavilion bar is one of the biggest assets Carlisle Bay has-he has every skill that a bartender working in a 5 star hotel should have-he was courteous, quick, made the most fabulous cocktails-and never seemed rushed or too busy to have a chat with me.Every time I encountered any of the staff I was greeted so pleasantly and asked if I was having a nice time-particularly Leni took the time to see how I was getting on.The general manager is the absolute consummate professional-and very obviously cares about all of his guests and is certainly leading from the front-he has got a true 5 star hotel here and he should be very proud both of himself and all of his staff.

I had an ocean suite this time and it was huge! View amazing, amenities great, room service always prompt.A lovely touch to have a bottle of champagne to welcome me back.

I ate in both Indigo which has a great range on its menu and offered a great barbecue on Friday night-East which does Vietnamese/Japanese/Oriental food and was out of this world-and also took advantage of room service-eating supper while watching the waves-what can I say!

I will definitely be back.Carlisle Bay has everything I would want to find on my holiday-excellence in standards and amenities,a truly breathtaking location and true hospitality.True hospitality being service which is there when you want it but discreet when not required.I love Carlisle Bay for itself and while I would be wary of it ever becoming part of a "chain",I can see that any hotels which models itself on this hotel cannot go wrong!

My friend and i had the pleasure of staying at this fabulous hotel!!From the moment we got there we were in awe of this amazing resort. The service was exceptional from the start all the way through to the end of our stay. When checking in we were welcomed with a refreshing fruit cocktail which was perfect after our long flight and transfer to the hotel. We were then swiftly taken to our ocean suite, which is absolutely stunning inside. The facilities in our room were exceptional and the sheer size of it was nothing like we had experienced before in the caribbean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and couldnt do enough for you.We ate in both restaurants East and Indigo on the beach we were fantastic and reasonably priced for the standard of accomodation. The pool area was immaculate and they had a very good beach(not as nice as i have seen elsewhere on the island but still very good). The spa was amazing and very relaxing place to unwind.I had a facial which was expensive but worth the cost the i paid for it and my friend had a manicure which she said was very good(it still hasnt chipped and its been 8 days since she had it done)!!I could talk about this hotel all day as its the best hotel i have stayed in and i would definitely go back.To all people that read this review STAY AT THE CARLISLE BAY YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

Our 1st family holiday with our 13 month old daughter was very special and relaxing. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and our every need was catered for enabling us as first time parents to relax and unwind. We used the same baby sitter every night, Donna, and she was lovely (hugged as all goodbye on the last night!). The food was stunning - although we were only there for a week and I feel maybe having been there for 2 weeks I would have needed more of a variation. The staff were sometimes a bit slow with service but made up for it in friendliness - Antigua time I guess! The second room in the beach suite was most welcome as a place for our daughters cot and also for storing our clothes out of sight. The beach was awesome and pool gorgeous. The water was a bit warm but best that way with a baby. We hired a Jeep to tour the island, whcih was great fun. Driving through St Johns was hair raising but a great way in general to see the island. We travelled out of season, which sadly meant many attractions, galleries and beach stops were closed but then of course we had no crowds and probably a quieter and more relaxed stay. We would definately return!

What can I say - our stay was fantastic from start to finish. We were in an Ocean Suite on the top floor and it was awesome. It's so nice to stay in a hotel where the room in the "brochure" is the one you get. We've been enticed many times before to hotels with great looking rooms, only to find that the picture they portray is their top suite and the "standard" rooms which we have booked are most disappointing. Not the case here. As other posters have stated, fantastic air con, huge rooms, every conceivable luxury you could ask for. We loved the bathroom and lying in the bath watching the fish jump our of the mangrove swamp was such an unexpected surprise. The day bed on the balcony was great.

My husband brought the wrong charger for my phone, but Reception were able to charge it up for me, which was great. The food and services was great in both restaurants and bars. Kind of neat to go to a movie, but if you do take a sweater - it got a bit chilly half way through. There was never a problem getting loungers either by the pool or on the beach. The snorkelling by the was was really good - go along the rocks on the lefthand side of the bay. Saw loads of fish including a big Ray. The BBQ on the beach on the Friday night was so romantic - don't miss it. We both had spa treatments on our last day and I had the best massage from Cassandra that I've ever had. We'll be back!

Just back (late June) from a week at Carlisle Bay - this was the second week our holiday having spent the first one on Nevis at the Four Seasons.

The Four Seaons is very very good, but Carlisle Bay is much much better.

The room is perfect - very large, contemporary with a huge bathroom. We had an Ocean suite just yards from the golden sandy beach. We were on the ground floor and we felt that was the best option as you could stroll straight out of your patio doors onto the sand.

Both restaurants are great. East does have an Asian theme so if you don't like that sort of fusion food it may not be for you. Indigo on the Beach was great too sitting just steps from the sea.

Staff are very friendly and my only comment back to the management of the hotel is please change their uniforms! They all look a bit dull in grey.

The spa is good, although we have visited better.

Overall though Carlisle Bay is just the perfect place to relax and do nothing. You are really looked after and you really don't want to leave.

The resort is quiet, even when there is high occupancy, and the clientele is mainly British. The hotel doesn't allow large groups to stay (please note this Four Seasons!).
