My partner and I have just returned from a lovely week at the Pineapple. We wanted a totally relaxing holiday - we didn't expect lots of activities (although there are plenty of watersports available) and entertainment , just a beautiful beach and the convenience of all-inclusive - exactly what the place offers. The food was pretty good - the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Sometimes the meals in the Topaz were average, but the bbqs and buffets were especially good. There are three restaurants for dinner so there is variety - something that all-inclusives can lack and you can snack all day if you want to. In all, we thought it was very good value - it's not an expensive resort so you can't expect total luxury. I can see why some people have commented on the service as some of the staff did look a bit fed up, but I think that is just their way and there is no point ruining your holiday worrying about it! Most of them were very friendly and cheerful. The rooms were very clean - ours was a beachfront in the 500 block so we opened our curtains and all we could see was the ocean, with a very private veranda. Basically, if you want a reasonably priced, relaxing, quiet holiday, it's a safe bet.

Having just returned from a week at the Pineapple Beach I decided to check out your review site. To say I'm amazed to read those glowing tributes is an understatement. To explain:-
This was my first foray into the world of ALL INCLUSIVE, although my wife has been A I on a number of occasions in Barbados with friends. If the fayre at Pineapple Beach is anything to go by it will certainly be my last.
The food in the Topaz retaurant was, with the exception of breakfast, consistantly abysmal.
The cocktails in the Piano Bar were unrecognisable.
The nightly 'entertainment' was High School Amateur Night at it's worst ( there was even Bingo one night!!!!! )

My wife and I are in our early fifties, we have holidayed all over Europe, the Far East, America, Canada, and as far as Australia. This is the first, yes the FIRST, holiday spot I have ever felt the need to criticize in over 30 years of vacationing.
Pineapple Beach did have it's good points-- the accommodation, the beach, the staff for the most part, and Mary's Outhouse ( the only properly cooked food in the whole establishment ).

For those of your reviewers ( mostly American ) who say the food was excellent--WHOA-- I've had better food in the lowliest truck stop in your own country.

For those who say the entertainment was superb-- Try comparing it to the finalists of Pop Idol, not the first stage hopefuls.

Finally, for those who say the drinks were good-- Get a cocktail book, follow the instructions for your favourite tipple, and taste how it should, and could, be made by even an amateur.

My advice to anyone thinking of going to the Pineapple Beach Resort for a holiday is DON'T, unless you are a tee-total, early to bed type on a starvation diet!

I feel i must add a review to this page after reading alot of the negative comments which worried me when i read similar things before my holiday!!!
We stayed at GPBR 7-21 Jan 2004, we had decided on the island of Antigua for our wedding so were obviously worried when we saw some of the negative comments people had made regarding the Pineapple Beach Resort!!! What can i say other than we shouldn't of worried!!!!!
From the moment we arrived, greeted by a complimentry rum punch to the very end of our stay NOTHING was too much trouble. 99% ( You can't please everyone!!) of the food was terrific, service although sometimes a bit slow was always friendly and you have to remember your on ISLAND TIME!!! Enjoy the atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed several lovely meals in the Pineapple Grill and although the Chef Pietro wasn't really our idea of bliss, i'm sure other people would enjoy it. Mary's Outhouse is an exeperience in itself, the ribs were great and the drinks were cold, above all the views are fantastic!!! Don't miss it.
Our room was an Ocean View room so was one of the newer ones it was very comfortable and always VERY clean, towels were replaced EVERY DAY and were always spotless. There was air conditioning and a safe, only down side was it would have been nice to have a fridge- but hey you can't have everything!!
The Staff- I had read quite a few reviews stating the staff were a real negative side to the hotel, all i can go on is our experience, we had NO problems with the staff, they were alwayss 100% polite, friendly and happy to help. Particular note to Novella, who was a STAR and so much help with our wedding plans. Also Vera, Bobby,Captain Savage, the infamous Mr T and many more. Your all a credit to the hotel!!!
The resort was always spotless, beach was beautiful and clean, plenty off sunbeds. The sea was clear although sometimes a little weedy.
Our wedding day was fantastic and we couldn't have asked for more, especially as just the 2 of us went with no family, nothing was too much trouble. We had the most FANTASTIC holiday and a memorable Wedding Day and couldn't have asked for a better place for our special day. We hope to return for our first anniversary!!!!!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Grand Pinapple for 15 glorious days, the beachfront room and in general all the facilities were first class. The staff were very friendly and always took the time to say hello and have a chat, the pace was typically caribbean which was exactly what I wanted from such a holiday. Slow down, enjoy life and the scenery, and most of all not get stressed about anything. The resturants provided a good menu selection and overall its a superb place to relax on a "dream holiday" My only criticism would be that some of thier procedures are a little unreliable. Some meal bookings went astray due to a lack of understanding of the booking procedure and I have no idea why my massage booking seemed to be ignored. This din't ruin my holiday in any way, shape or form. I cant wait to return!!

May 12th We spent 8 days and had a wonderful time. People were very friendly and the service was great. Amazingly the restaurants offered a wonderful selection of meals and actually to our surprise was very good. Beach and views are beautiful. Club offers a lot of activites but enjoyed much needed relaxation. Thanks for hint of bringing empty water bottles always able to refill in bar and fitness areas. Grounds were kept spotless except for cow poopie going to the tennis courts(There the whole time we were there, well not everything always perfect) Hope you decide on the Pineapple Beach I don't think you will regret it.
