My wife and I have just returned from a 10 day holiday at Pineapple Beach, which we thoroughly enjoyed and are now longing to return.
This is a wonderful complex which was not overcrowded and very friendly, although it is looking a little tired in some places, particularly the standard bedrooms which are very dingy, if you go I advise you to upgrade your room, we had an ocean view room which was very clean and extremely spacious with a most wonderful view. The only down side to these rooms is you have to climb a lot of steps to access them, but it does help to keep you fit.
The food overall, was quite good and very plentiful with a good variation of choice over 3 restaurants, not all open at the same time though, plus you have a snack bar and Mary's outhouse. The snack bar was excellent serving amongst other things, tasty burgers and hot dogs with delightful service supplied by Sherryanne and Maxine, this is all overseen by the commendable food and beverage manager Dale.
The gem in this resort is the Outhouse a unique and original shack up the hill with lovely cool breezes and spectacular view. The barbecued ribs and chicken cooked here along with cold beers are delicious. We would like to say a special thank you to Maxine who helped us to find my wife's parents names Alex and Jean which were written on the Outhouse way back in 1995.
The evening entertainment was quite good as well as plenty of day time activities if you wished to join in, although you may not want to drag yourself away from the wonderful beach. This is the finest beach we have ever lazed on with soft white sand and plenty of sun loungers. The sea was calm and gently shelving with no sign of any nasty jelly fish or sea urchins to spoil your day, and as a matter of fact during our stay we didn't get bit by any mosquito's either which was a huge relief.
The bars are well stocked with plenty of alcoholic beverages and the bar staff are very polite and efficient, in particular Sherylyne was very helpful towards us and made a huge difference to our holiday and we would like to say a big thank you for this. Another person we would like to give a special mention to is Jason a very polite young man.
We would definitely recommend staying at Pineapple Beach, we did have a wonderful time and have no complaints whatsoever.
As other reviewers have commented Pineapple is now owned by Sandals. If any Sandals personnel read this, then please do not change the complex or staff to much especially the Outhouse, if it ain't broke don't fix it!
Sandals resorts are generally overcrowded so please don't overcrowd Pineapple, as you may regret it.
So once again a big thank you to Pineapple Beach from Richard and Sheryl.
