We have just come back from our honeymoon at this hotel... all we can say was ... perfect... well apart from the bed in Bruno's cabin. bit too hard for us!

The staff treated us as one of the famil y so thanks Fiona, Ron Nigel and Robert for making our stay so memorable. one thing we would advise is to hire a car and go see the island... roads get a bit dodgey but hey that just adds to the adventure.

There is a resturant which does lovely food and the bbq on the Sunday was very entertaining.. 2 other resturants are a short walk away called Kesari, an Asian Tapas and an Italian where the Pizzas were to die for!

All in all the place was as relaxing as relaxed can be and we are already saving to go there next year... dont expect to be doing loads unless you want to just sit back... swig your wadadli beer and watch the boats sail in.

Just another word of warning.... Mosquitoes are on a mission so take all the precuations neccessary and more...

A bit late to review, but better late...
We stayed at the Catamaran Hotel for one night at the end of a holiday to the BVI before our flight home. It proved ideal for a short stopover but I'm not sure I would want to spend an entire holiday here.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and were happy to let us check out late at no extra cost. The hotel is right on the beach but as it is next to a harbour, it is not the sort of beach to swim off. We did however, borrow the kayaks and go for an enjoyable paddle. There is also a small swimming pool, but it's a bit small for kids to play and for adults who just want a quiet dip, to stay apart.

We had booked a suite which consisted of a small "sitting room" with a kitchen area and it's own shower room. There was a small bed which I think was a sofa bed, we also had a small bedroom with 2 small double beds and another shower room.I felt very cramped and I think a bit of upgrading would be good, but for a short stop it was ok.

Dinner was a buffet BBQ, and I would rate the food as only ok, but breakfast was excellent. We had a brief walk around but couldn't see anywhere else to eat, I think a taxi ride would have taken us to English Harbour with a variety of restaurants. There was a small supermarket however. You would really need to rent a car if you stayed here any length of time.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. It was ideal for our overnight stay in Antigua, but would be fine for a short stay. But I would check the size of the rooms before staying for a week or two and definitely rent a car.

booked a room, confirmed, then 2 days before arrival they said the customer in the room wanted to extend. We would be upgraded for 2 days, then moved to the room we booked for the remaining 8 days. But we would have to pay an extra 25 per day. Like it or leave it. We booked with another hotel and had a wonderful 10 day stay. Tried to e-mail owner...no reply. TAKE CARE.

I had a few unplesant surprises at the catamaran hotel. firstly the beach was terrible for bathing. There were a lot of that squishy stuff at the bottom of the water, i guess due to the marina. This turned us off from bathing there.
Secondly there was a great mix up as to the cost of my stay.Even though I called a number of times before i came to confirm the cost. I was told of the new cost when i arrived...it was very heart breaking for me as i budgeted based on what i was told . The free breakfast and caricom rates.....which we did not get.
I had made these reservations since April, and had called them many times after to confirm the cost and whatever questions I had....so it was strange that they had it mixed up

The refrigerator door completely fell off and was braced with a block of wood for the rest of the stay.

They overcharged us for laundry..95 EC (which was reasonable according to them)...when i took the clothes to the laundry and showed them they said it would have costed46 ECdollars....what a rip off . I informed Ron that their washer woman was ripping off
the guests..

The kayak and sailboat was ok however the padle boat had a broken seat which eventually broke off...so we could not use it. The 2 other paddle boats were non -functional.

Other than that we had a wonderful time in antigua but those unplesant surprises took some of the enjoyment and peace of mind out of our vacation.

I stayed at the Catamaran Hotel and I absolutely loved it. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I especially loved my room due to its up to 6 persons occupancy. Even though there are kids with you, the hotel isn't too quiet for them. Its just perfect. Theres a great supermarket and a lunch/snack bar down the road. Its about a 5-10 min. walk (all depends on how fast you walk). There is only one problem : the beach doesn't feel clean. Its nice, but you don't feel clean because the marina is right there and the water isn't clear as other beaches. Other than that Catamaran is a great hotel. Loved it!
