Westayed at St james Club from 18th October for 10 days with our kids aged 11 and 8, and had a great time. On arrival we were greeted with a rum punch and the staff were all friendly and helpful especially when we asked to change our room to one with a king sized bed instead of two smaller ones. The rooms are clean and spacious with his and hers basins and a huge bath!
Although it was half term, and the hotel was busy it did not feel over crowded due to the fact that there were two beaches and four pools to chose from. Mamora Bay is where all`the watersports take place and is a safe place for kids to learn to waterski, windsurf and sail. Take some bread from breakfast and feed the fish near the sun deck! The pool could do with updating but this is planned for the future. Cocos beach is more breezy and is better for snorkelling as the water is clearer.
Food was great. Plenty of choice so you did not feel bored. Lovely breakfasts and buffets for lunch and different menus in the evenings. We did have to wait for a table some nights but the hotel was busy. It's worth going to the Docksider at night to look for the stingray who swims close to the restasurant. Picolo Mondos good for a treat with excellent lobster!
Watersports good but book Hobies early as they are very popular! The watersports staff will take you snorkelling on the reef for 10 dollars. Well worth going! Free water skiiing lessons for beginners. You can keep on trying until you can go once round the bay- I didn't manage it!!!
Overall we had a fantastic holiday. The hotel was clean, friendly and we met some great people. I would recommend this as a perfect place to go with kids as is is so safe on the beach. If you don't like children don't go in the school holidays as there were a lot of kids there. Great for us as ours made lots of new friends.
Would I go back. Yes....Maybe I will purchase a timeshare in the villlage..................!
