We stayed at St James Club Antigua in January this year. The best thing about the place were the beautiful gardens and the friendly bar and resteraunt staff. particulary Pearl and Wingrove! The Rainbow resteraunt was like a school canteen, and the food was not much better, although it has to be said that Piccolo Mondo resteraunt was very good.

The air conditioning was continually on the blink and on one occaision took 3 days to repair despite several requests to the unhelpful staff on reception to arrange for it to be fixed asap. The room was very basic and compared to other 4 star carribean hotels was very poor.

All in all it was very dissapointing

My husband and I just returned last week from 7 wonderful days at St. James. We were married on June 12 and went for our Honeymoon and had the greatest time. It was everything we hoped for and more. The staff was amazing and greeted us with rum punch and a bottle of champagne chilling in our room. The room in the Hibiscus building was very nice and our room was very clean (HUGE bathtub), and the view of the ocean was amazing. The beaches were nice, but if you are like me and LOVE to snorkel, it is not the greatest. I would suggest taking the day trip on the Wadali Cat around the island, it was awesome, great crew, good food and awesome snorkeling on Green Island.

The restaurants at St. James were very good. There was such a big selection every night with the all-inclusive plan. I would definitely recommend doing the all-inclusive because the food prices are very expensive if you don't. We didn't eat at Piccolo Mondo because there was an extra fee, but did not feel like we were missing out because the food at Docksider and Rainbow Garden were always excellent (Yummy Salmon and Jumbo Shrimp!).

My most important piece of advice for the ladies is to bring bug spray for your legs!! The mosquitoes come out at night while you are eating at the restaurants and they attacked my legs. It was very uncomfortable. But, other than that it was a perfect and very romantic Honeymoon and I would highly recommend St. James Club. TripAdvisor helped us pick this spot and I hope to help others who are looking for suggestions.

Wow! First visit to the Caribbean and to an A-I hotel. Very impressed! The hotel was great, the staff very friendly, the food good and plentiful, lots of drinks and the most wonderful beach ever.
Would recommend to everyone - a great holiday for families and couples alike.

The St James club was nice. The grounds were beautiful and loved the water sports. They have a bus that goes into town on Mondays and Saturdays for 14.00 round trip otherwise taxi fare is quite expensive at 50.00 round trip. If you are looking for night life there is none, casino was small and music is not top 40. Great kids club and great for families, but not for singles.
