We planned our trip with friends from West Virginia and United Kingdom
for a fall holiday at Hawksbill. Two of the three couples had been to the Caribbean before. Our experience was so wonderful! The view from our room and the beaches was unbelievable. My husband took out the sailboat and snorkeled at the reef right out in the swimming area. On one of our days, we booked a day with the Miramar large sailboat for our entire group. We highly recommend this day excursion from Jolly Harbor and another day trip to the English Harbor. We rented a car and most of the trip let our British friends do the left-hand side of the street driving.

During our stay, I felt an overwhelming desire to thank the local people for allowing us to share in their island's beauty. My husband enjoyed photographing many of the beautiful sights in St. John, English Harbor, and at Hawksbill. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The food was good in the all inclusive. The staff worked hard to change items with buffet and menu orders. The coconut ice-cream and lime crushes at lunch were a special treat for us. We all love seafood and enjoyed the "catch of the day" many days at lunch and supper as well as one morning for breakfast. The musical entertainment was good and enhanced the island flavor.

Most of the people staying at Hawksbill were in our "baby boomers" age
group and looking for quiet relaxation. This is the place!

If you like a laid back vacation, and uncrowded beaches, this is the place for you. The 37 acre hawksbill property has four beautiful beaches (about a miles worth?) and just over a hundred rooms. Even at full capacity it is easy to find peace and quiet.

The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. The all inclusive package is a great deal. We have returned to the hawksbill with our extended family nine times, and we have never been disappointed.

if in the other hand you like the hustle and bustle of high-rise resorts and crowded beaches, the hawksbill is not for you

We returned for the third time and found it even better - the food was really good, we love the 'catch of the day' at lunch, the varied dinners and wonderful breakfasts. The cocktails are out of this world, both alcolic and non alcolholic.++
The staff are very helpful and the accommodation very clean. Linen was changed regularly and Brenda who cleaned our room remembered us from our last visit as did many others!!!
The setting is idyllic and the wealth of flora and animals incredible. We even saw a turtle in the sea off the 'Eden' beach. So many butterflies, a heron, pelicans etc.
I can't understand the grouchy comments I read about this hotel, it is really wonderful, we have recommended so many people to visit and they all love it, especially the laid back atmosphere.

The food is the best I've ever tasted and I am a retired cook in Great Britian. The peace I got in this hotel with the sea and sand was fantastic. I hired a car and drove around the island in one day which was an insight into the Antiguan way of life, went on a cruise on a catamaran -Treasure Island Cruises - this was great. At the hotel we could take the taxi shuttle 3 days per week to St. John's the capital. The staff are excellent and friendly. On the moring before I left which was a full moon I was snorkeling in the sea but in the afternoon when I went for a swim I had to be saved by Myron - the watersports attendant who came to my rescue after being trapped by the new high seas. A wonderful place to stay, I will definitely be coming back.
