I loved Curtain Bluff. My husband and I stayed there on our honeymoon on the last week of June. The weather was great. Probably the same temps as the DC Area. We stayed in the Terrace Room and it was unbelievable. The view was great and we loved the outdoor tub. I can see what people are saying about the furniture and the sheets being a little worn. But really..we just didn't care. Every morning we had breakfast on the terrace. They offer complimentary room service. The food was unbelieveable. Breakfast came off a menu. Lunch was a buffet. They buffet was very nice though, and you could still order food of the menu if you wanted to. The lunch menu had sandwiches and burgers. Dinner was unbelievable. There was a diffrent menu each night and you could pick whatever courses you wanted to eat. My husband and I got one of each course and were completely stuffed each night. On each menu there were two soup choices, two salad choices, two apps choices, a few entrees, and a set menu for desserts. They also had appetizers before dinner. They weren't especially fancy but it was fun to have a little something and allowed us to dine later and avoid the families. We would have drinks during this time and mini sandwiches, veggies with dip, and fried chicken or corn. Drinks were all you can drink. They will even bring them out to you on the beach, although I must say that they didn't come as much as I would have liked on the beach. But you can also get up and get your drink at the bar whenever you want. I had daquaris every day. So good. And it is nice to not worry about tipping. While we were there we went snorkeling (I thought it was nice) and deep see fishing for free. The water was very rough so I would take some dramamine. We had a couples massage (not free) that was very nice and also took a cooking class (free). The cooking class was great! After the class the chefs sat down with us and we all ate the food they had just prepared. It was delicious! We were also poured complimentary wine. All in all a great time. Maybe more kids than I would like for a honeymoon but the food def made up for it. We are definetely planning on going back!

My husband and I just returned from Curtain Bluff and it was truly amazing. I can see why people return year after year and we hope to do so. We too have traveled the Carribbean extensively and CB is worth visiting. Since the moment we arrived we were greeted by staff and Rob, the manager. Service was impeccable. The room was beautiful, the food outstanding and never ending. Music every night made it very fun. There were absolutely no complaints. Water sports were great, spa couples massage was as good as any I've had in the States, and the gym was well equipped. I wouldn't recommend deep sea fishing though, it was very rough. Overall, Curtain Bluff is a must for Carribbean travelers. But do get out and have a look at the island. Shirley Heights and Nelson's Dockyard are beautiful sights to see. Enjoy!

I would not pay any attention to the naysayers here. You will always find people who love to complain. Our family of six (including children 19, 17, 15, and 11) stayed at Curtain Bluff for the past week. We have traveled alot, and we all agree that this is simply as good as it gets and just loved it. Moreover, all of the guests we spoke to here, including families with little kids, older and younger couples, college kids, etc., all agreed that this place is the best. First, the food is unequaled at any Caribbean resort. While we were here, Andre Soultner (former Chef/Owner of the famed Lutece in New York) was a guest Chef but the food here was and is always top notch. The rooms are very nice and very comfortable (we had two junior suites overlooking the ocean), the staff was always nice and helpful, the beach is great (both on the ocean side and Caribbean sea side) and the general attitude was relaxed. Although they talk about dressing up for dinner, that just means no jeans or shorts, and a polo shirt. If you want to sail on a Hobi Cat or windsurf, you just tell them and you are off and running, same with waterskiiing. Want to play squash, tennis, boci ball, croquet, whatever, there was never a wait, you just play. You are never bored and always relaxed. You have alot of choices with activities but no pressure at all. There is nice live music during every dinner (and afterwards), all the drinks, smoothies etc. you ever want all day long, and all the food you can imagine. With everything included, and given the quality, I quite frankly think it is a bargain despite the price. It is no wonder people come here year after year. If you want a place that has it all, this is it and you need look no further. Enjoy!

We decided to go to Curtain bluff because our family was going to be there. We had planned on a 7 day stay at Cap Julica but gave it up for those reasons. Where do I begin. We did have a beautiful suite called Grace Bay. But for 900.00 a night I could have had clean bedding, the sheets were clean but the to covers and pillows that dress the bed all had stains. The furniture in the room like our chaise was stained as well as the chaise lounges and chairs on our outside balcony. Maids came twice a day to clean and to turn down the beds. After day one I never received another bar of soap or shower cap again for 7 nights. I had to ask for the shower cap. The bedroom of the suite had air conditioning but the bathroom did not, and air did not circulate so we had to get a fan just to be able to shower in the heat. Thank goodness the bedroom had it for it was in the high 80's -90"s with 100% humidity. Room service was always brought on time and the servers we very nice. Dinner was the worse because of no air conditioning and you must dress for dinner. We could ring out of clothes after a few minutes. It was unbarable. The bar area also had no circulation and we ended up back in the rooms at night just for some relief from the heat. Lunch was so- so and the lunch staff with the exception of Carlos was not very nice. He was the only smiling face. Breakfast was ok ,but again the staff was not always friendly. Beach area really only one to use because the surf in the other was so strong even this native Floridian was not getting in it. So the calm beach was full of rocks and debri as you entered, most people floated on rafts to stay off the bottom. I was so unimpressed as this was the worst beach I have ever been in in the Carribean. I have been to over 15 and counting. The water staff were ok, some days friendly some days not. The fishing guides were great. The spa . Oh the spa , the new addition of $2,000.000 was a beautiful facility but the help was worse than the beginners at massage school in the States. I had a facial that was sub par and was left for 45 minutes before my massage which was terrible. I did notify management and a partial refund was given. To stay 7 night in Curtain bluff is way to long and I will never ever go back for the money we spent. You are charges a 10% tip rate per day as well as a tax per day. I would have gladly tipped myself. As far as staff in the gift shop wonderful. Front desk wonderful, but that is where it ended. What a horrible dissapointment for a beautiful landscaped property that has so much potential.

We spent our 20th anniversary at Curtain Bluff. It was everything we had hoped for! Elegant but laid back, relaxing when we felt like it but plenty to do in between. We went Scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which had a beautiful view and a private deck with a jacuzzi. The hotel is now fully air conditioned for the times you need it. We did have many steps to walk up to get to our room so if you have limited mobility you may want to discuss this with the hotel before you arrive (we were grateful for the exercise). The food was good, we do not eat meat or shellfish so we did not sample many of the special meals which we heard were wonderful. The staff was friendly, especially the waiters. We would go back in a minute! Maybe we'll bring the kids next time- or maybe not.
